How to fix leaking valve cover Kohler Courage engine, gasket replacement
Here I show how to replace the valve cover gasket on a Kohler Courage motor.
Here is the kit I installed
amzn.to/4gp6jZ0
Note: A lot of people put RTV gasket maker on either side of the gasket to help avoid leaks. I skipped this step but will update here if it starts to leak. Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put some gasket maker on either side.

Dude, torque the valve cover bolts to the proper torque, don't just smack 'em down with your impact- otherwise nice job.
Hello, "Timothy's Tractors" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or ig or where?
that's awesome
Great video, showed everything I needed to see!
Hi Tim I just watched your 4100 videos. Maybe you can help me .I’m trying to help a friend with her tractor. She doesn’t know how to activate the glow plugs and it’s cold here in wny. She’s 77 years old and can’t find the manuals for her JD 4100. I have not been able to help her. Don’t want to use either. Could you help us out ? Thanks
You can pre-warm them by pulling up the PTO switch then turning the key to START-the GP's will light but the engine won't crank (as long as your safety switches are intact and working).
@@TimothysTractors Thank you very much I will check that out. Appreciate that very much..
Hey Timothy, Thanks for sharing this vid. Looking for a part number for the filter on the under side of hood that sits just above engine fan, can you help me out, thanks. I have a LX288 but assume they'd be similar.
Sounds like this is what you're looking for: John Deere part number M129080 amzn.to/4giTHSC
Great tutorial. Very helpful.
Damn fine video, made all the difference. Keep em coming!
Excellent video! Thanks for sharing!!

What year is that deck you got
Where can i purchase this? TIA
amzn.to/3ZPJKFR
Thanks! Very informative
Great tutorial! Way better than any other on RUclips! Thanks for making my job so much easier
That means a lot! Thanks for watching!
Thank you
I like it
I forgot to mention in the video, but once you put the controller cover back on, switch your F&R switch from Neutral to Reverse 5 times in a row and wait for it to beep 4 times. This tells the controller to reprogram for the wire you installed and will get you maximum speed.
That's actually the friction wheel the drive disk is behind it looks like a pancake what is on the crankshaft
Why does it look like you were putting black dirt over the top of nice gravel
I guess it’s just the view. We were covering fill dirt with topsoil so grass would grow
I put the same lift kit on mine when you put your front tires on did they rub against the new mounts for the tie rods?
I think maybe they did, it's hard to remember. I might have put a washer on each stud behind the wheel to act as mini spacers. Otherwise you can get a full set of 2" spacers on amazon that would definitely prevent rubbing and look good too!
I hooked it up the way you said.i put the positive wire on positive terminal , the ground wire has a terminal on it don't no were to put it. Help
Interesting to watch this. Makes me happy I own a Yamaha with independent (shock absorbed) front suspension and rack and pinion steering. Just a much better system than the EZGO.
Thanks so much! This worked on my lx280.
Best lift vid I’ve seen. 😊
Hey, great videos, you do a fantastic job my friend. Keep up the great work.
Great video. I probably couldn’t do this myself. Your awesome. Only thing I noticed is that the turn signal is usually on the outside. So either you install your lights upside down or to the opposite side of the cart. Either way great install. Works flawlessly. 🫡
Where can I buy me one of these cabs I really need one
I got it from a friend in Jacksonville that got it on a tractor. Where are you located? Sometimes they come up for sale and you could get one shipped through fastenal possibly
Hello I am having trouble setting up my coward and reverse switch do you have any pictures or videos helping me link up all my cables ?
This is the only video I have and I don’t have any other photos. Hopefully this video can help though!
Well done! I'm new to golf carts and wanted to commend you on an excellent how-to video. As well would like to ask about the cart in the video. Is that engine/drivetrain setup factory or something you installed? I'm currently working on installation of a gas engine setup, replacing the factory electric setup on a late 90's model EZGO and if you could do a walk through of yours, that'd be great. New subscriber, keep up the good work.
Thanks for watching and subscribing! I sold the cart so I can’t take a walk around video unfortunately but I remember just about everything I did to it. It was originally electric and I converted it to gas using a Duromax engine and a torque converter kit with a much larger sprocket than what comes with the kit. I used a 40 chain with a chain tensioner made by monster craftsman. At the time those could be bought on eBay. I used the old electric motor but cut off the armature and had just the shaft with a sprocket welded to the shaft for the chain. That was probably the hardest part other than getting everything lined up perfectly. Let me know any other questions!
@@TimothysTractors excellent. Thank you very much.
Awesome video!!! Thanks
Good 👍 video pal
Thanks for the video! With the help of my brother-in-law, this 67 year old man just installed a 6” lift just like the one you installed. Great tip about the leaf springs on the rear. Only took us 3.5 hours. Very good information!!
Thanks so much!
Nice video. How has deck worked out after regular mowing ? I am thinking of doing this and would like to know if there are any negatives? Thanks in advance.
It always mowed fine and I sold the machine a few months later. Never heard any complaints after it sold so I assume all is good. Thanks for watching and let me know how it goes!
What an excellent video. You go through every step. Well done.
Thanks! Glad I could help
Hello, I noticed that there's a lot of wiggle. I have a similar issue, is that normal? Or does the whole assembly probably need changing? My frame is from the early 80's.
It should be fine. How does it drive? You can kind of see when I spin mine by hand at 2:43 it has a little wiggle room but it drove fine. It's been a few years and I no longer have it.
thank you for a very good and concise video showing exactly how to remove and replace the carburetor! best video on this I have found 🎉
What is the spec on the stop plate for belt tension arm?
Great video.

Good job! Very simple and the camera was always on the job, without music or excessive talking. I enjoyed it!!
Great job! Definitely feel prepared to go do my lift on my ezgo tomorrow
Thanks! Let me know how it goes
Thank you. Hard to find honest fixes! Feeling more prepared!
I work with computers and have little experience working on things like this. I was wondering if any type of grease should be going on to these bolts when reinstalling and also would it make sense to replace those small rubber bushings since you already have everything off?
I put grease on the bolts that were used with bushings and would move, but not on anything else that was just part of assembly. The bushings can be a pain to replace, but yes, it may have been easier to just go ahead and do it while I had it somewhat taken apart. Recently, I’ve discovered it is easiest to replace all the bushings front and back when the cart is flipped on its side
Thanks for sharing this info Tim! I've never installed this type wheel weight and your explanation makes it look pretty simple.
Dude, you should press your burns in and not hammer them and you’re supposed to use at least at bare minimum a socket. That’s approximately the same size as the outer ring. I hope you didn’t damage your bearings.
Usually I’ll put a flat plate of steel on top of the bearing to tap it in evenly. I tapped around the edge and tried to go in evenly. Thanks for watching!
Good job man👍 look here too interesting @K.A.V
Great video bro! Helped with my install 100% appreciate it!
Is there anyway you could post a video of your wiring form your forward and reverse switch? I'm having issues wiring mine. Mine is a 1986 marathon EZGO. I see you have a cable running from the front of the forward and reverse switch to the negative side? I also see a cable on top of the solenoid, what is that connected too?
Hi, I no longer have this golf cart so I can't make any more videos about this specific one but I can try to help you. Looks like I had the 4 terminals on the F&R switch going to Solenoid, S1, and A2 going to the motor, and the last one going to battery main positive
