I'm honored to say that Red was a friend of mine the last several years of his life. He was, I can tell you, everything you would expect him to be offstage as well as on. He was a kind, generous, unpretentious., God-fearing man, and I thank God for the privilege of being able to be his friend. There is a beautiful museum that holds his costumes, paintings, awards, etc., in his hometown of Vincennes, Indiana. It is well worth seeing. There is also a gentleman by the name of Brian Hoffman who is an amazing and talented impersonator of Red who is endorsed by the Red Skelton Estate. Google him for his performance schedule. His theater is located in Pigeon Forge, TN, but he also performs around the country. Red Skelton was exceptional in every way, and I pray his legacy goes on and on.
