What is a 4 - Way Inspection?

This inspection is a key checkpoint in the construction process, ensuring that everything is up to code before proceeding with additional installations like drywall and insulation. If you're looking to finish your basement in Salt Lake or Utah County, understanding what the four-way inspection entails can empower you to stay informed and confident in the progress of your home renovation.

    Noice. Here in PA and we get a good bit of rain here. Just bought a house & was wondering how it’s suppose to be handled. Gotta clean some leaves and get a drain plug tmr. I was hoping it does turn and come out so I can clean it out bc it does seem to be clogged without a plug. Any suggestions or precautions ?

    I don't understand though why would you take up space with gravel instead of leaving more space for water to collect?

    • @DansieDesignBuild
      @DansieDesignBuild 27 дней назад

      The gravel allows for water to flow around it. And at the same time allows for the concrete to be poured on top of it.

    You have such great ideas. I wish you were based out of New York! I need help with my basement! Is that white fence metal or pvc? I really love that look and also the idea with adding the gate entrance in front of the basement door for easier access .

      I wish we could work all over the country, that would be awesome! Currently we are only able to offer design and pre-construction services nation wide. ruclips.net/video/l03ex4dtOc0/видео.html Or, you could do a round plywood door like I did and used gate hinge and latch. To make it look thick, but not heavy I used pink foam insulation and backed it with 1/4" plywood. Looks massive, yet light.

    Engineered reinforcement, a.k.a. concrete and rebar. You could charge $8000 for $100 worth of materials.

    • @DansieDesignBuild
      @DansieDesignBuild Месяц назад

      Haha, the point and reason behind having it be engineered is to ensure it’s calculated and for-sure going to work. We live in an earthquake zone, and so factoring those things in is important to me. Long ago we decided to build our projects strong, and right never taking short cuts or doing things the easy way. And at the same time we’re build a reputation that is also strong, a reputation of doing things the way they should be done.

    Hey Dansie, Ive watched a lot of videos from your channel. How would you go about installing a french drain around a basement walkout ? I mean unless there are walls all around, I feel like having the french drain under the stairs is a case for disaster aka a sinkghole situation happening. Let me know what you think, is casing all 3 walls around the foundation a must ?

    I need to make entrance on side wall. There is around 2 Feet difference exterior ground level and my basement stairs landing area. So i guess i need to dig around 2 feet, but how much minimum width i should keep for railing. There is total of 8 feet distance between me n my neighbour, so max i can go is 4 feet but it will leave me no space to cross over and go to my backyard. Please advise..

    • @DansieDesignBuild
      @DansieDesignBuild 2 месяца назад

      The minimum width for a stair case is 36”, the foundation wall adds 8” to that so, that is just under 4’. It is very tight and may or may not work for you. “These are the best lights “ but what are they simply wafer lights? I always wondered how do you get the lights out to change the setting! Putting them in seems easy enough. I have yet to see anyone take them out and/or change the setting.

    • @DansieDesignBuild
      @DansieDesignBuild 4 месяца назад

      Yes, you can remove them after they are installed. Simply prying on them by hand is enough for the springs to allow the light to be removed. Just don’t have your finger in the way of the spring… or you’ll feel more like a mouse in a trap than someone wanting to change their light’s color. It’s painful the first time it happens, but if it happens to you, you’ll never let it happen twice! Good luck with your lighting project, let me know if your lights have the same sort of spring set up, or if yours was designed differently.

    Man my walk out job in bluffdale has been a nightmare. Started in Feb, bid of 13k. Contractor bailed 11k in and half job. 2nd contractor doing a much better job now I have most everything but the door is a 60inch but the cut out was 73" the 72" door doesn't fit. The 60" is the only one I could find. So now I have a huge gap from the existing window on both sides. What to do? I'm 18k in now. Bluffdale

      I’m sorry to hear your walkout has been a nightmare. You can put stucco or siding around the door to fill the huge gap, or you can order a custom door size to fit the opening you have. You could also order a door with side lights, that would really look nice. You’ve got options at this point from what it sounds like to me.

      That’s awesome! Congratulations on making the decision to do a walkout! I wish we could serve you over in Ontario. If you’d like to schedule a call with me, I’d be happy to answer any questions you may be having. Request a consultation on my website and I look forward to chatting with you :)
