My Mineral Violet (PV 16) in tube, which has inexplicably hardened like a stone, while the rest of the tubes remain fresh and usable, and nobody from M Graham is responding.
I learned to watercolor using acrylics. Just water them down. It's harder to learn with them because you can't lift but it definitely makes you a better watercolorist.
My favorite of the prima palettes is the Woodlands. Love it so much. Followed by the tropicals.
Where did you go? I just found your channel and I like it. Don't give up on yourself. Get on here and make yourself that money.
Is there something wrong with the "Sound-track"???? I keep hearing a weird, cricket like "chirping" sound! It is very distracting and is almost as loud as your voice. My suggestion? Please re-shot this entire video, with someone knowledgeable doing your sound recording. Thus we can all enjoy and LEARN FROM your experience. THANK YOU !!!
Thank you for the video, very informative. I currently have the NEOLUCIDA and not a very patient person!!. All the jiggling etc really turns me off. I’m am interested in getting the XL but don’t want another goose neck, is it possible to just get the head only?.
i realize this is an older vid' but in case others are considering getting one of these? i can't understand why someone is whining in the comments because they couldn't figure out how to increase the size of the image? i jst move my subject closer or farther from the eye piece. this was extremely easy and fun to use. thanks for sharing the vid
I love that your local art store does trade ins. I often find that missing from the art sector. I have a box of inktense pencils sitting with me because I don’t quite enjoy it. There is no store I know here in the UK that will actually trade those in
I have one of these on order. Eagerly anticipating delivery.
No pomegranate ! NO NO NO pomegranate
YES YES YES ... nectar of the Gods!
I like your suggestion about using line and wash for the bluebells! A beautiful technique.

First time I use stool, it collapsed and I got up bleeding. This product is dangerous.
Bob , вы врун ! 👎👎👎
This was very helpful. Thank you so much for sharing
I got it 2 days ago, got 3 of them, i been after it for long time but it was so expensive here and out of nowhere I got a $10 coupon from ebay and seller sent me 5 dollars off, i was like hell yeahhh, worked out great and I love the stool.
Now it's on Amazon. 🤙🏼
Not a fail. I have an empty wc sketchbook too, and I imagine it'll stay empty. But I have other sketchbooks that have mixes of swatches and techniques plus an occasional lovely painting. They're not 'good', but I use em. *Yours is good.* Enjoyed. Will try to find you on Insta!
For those who don’t know please note: this folding method only works with 140lb, it will not work with 300lb. I have successfully ruler-ripped 300lb but if you attempt it do so carefully, I had to duck tape my ruler to the table so it stopped slipping.
I just wanted to thank you for this video. Lately I've been using Moleskine watercolor sketchbook but I decided to give this one a try. And it's amazing. It holds great amounts of water and erasing. Behaves really great with watercolors and has a nice texture. Not to rough but also not ideally smooth. Perfect, so thank you because without this video I wouldn't find this product.
Wear gloves. Your hands have oils on them and you can cause issues with paint absorption by rubbing them repeatedly on the paper.
Your presentation is deceptive First of all, you should have said that the Lucisa XL is set up to yield miniatures. If you've found a way to make 18"x16" reproductions using this over-hyped toy, speak up and show it. I'm no math major, but it looks like this child's toy reduces everything it copies to 1/4 of the size the artist sees. Since whoever makes this fails to warn the consumer, I call bull $hit on them. I'm aware that if you increase the length of the "goose neck", you get a bigger reproduction, but I don't want to stand up and trace. Here's your chance, s. ranellearts, show us your work-around, or be more candid about the limitations of this ninny tool.
I bought on. It was trash.
thats hilarious :) in case u still haven't figured it out? just move the subject back and forth to increase or decrease the size on ur paper. too easy haha
I got the 12 pan version which is the first transparent watercolor set I got like 10 years ago or something. They still kinda confuse me, because they seem less crappy than some of the student sets that are on sale. They are also a really nice safe place for someone like me who has the opaque Pelikans for most of my life. Those are a staple in art education here in Germany, practically every kid learns how to paint and mix colours with these. Yeah, definitely not my choice of colours, either (you can get navy blue and silver, though, those don't clash quite so much, do they? I have both since one was sitting in my student's flat and one at my parent's house so I can use them whenever I wanted or needed, too), but the water containers are super useful. Pelikan definitely sells all of those pans individually, at least here in Germany. Not so sure about the U.S., but they probably got a retailer's homepage for America where you can order them directly, if none of the art supply stores you'd usually go to has them :3
Puoi darmi l'indirizzo dove si compra e quanto costa? Grazie
Grazie: puoi darmi l'indirizzo esatto dove posso ordinarlo? E quanto costa? Grazie per la risposta!
Check the prices at The Merri Artist in MC Minnville OR that’s where I buy my M Graham watercolor paints. I order online. But we have taken day trips to the actual store. The people are so friendly there. Please check them out.
Love the colors in your travel pallete! What brands/ colors are in it?
They do have it on amazon under collapsible stools
Just what I needed thankyou 🤣
I go a few blocks to Hobby Lobby, where they have Arches in 22x30 sheets for 7.95 and with their 40% discount coupon it’s worth it.
Love this idea , thankyou for your video
It seems to be listed at 18" high.
Thank you! I just got one and can't wait to use it. I needed to see how it works first before I try.
Hey do you recommend these or daler rowney aquafine travel set?
hey maheen I have a similar question. so please let me know if you have found an answer to it
@@amnazulqadar6564 which one do u think is better?
@@palmypages I have bought daler rowney as I was not sure about pelikan. As it is usually considered as kids watercolour set. Daler rowneys 12 pc watercolour set is good. If you wanna know the details i can share with you.
So you can get 16 5 by 7 out of One sheet of 22 by 30? I’m new at watercolor painting and 100% cotton paper is expensive. So is better.
This palette requires Windsor Newton size pans and I haven’t found empty pans in that size. Thanks for this process video!
You just keep folding in half until you get 5 x 7 sheets? I am making leather sketchbooks with mine. thanks so much.
What a great present
They sell better ones on Amazon that hold up to 500 lbs
is there a way you can draw the still-life larger?
Very helpful! Thank you! 😊 new subscriber here!
The plastic makes me a little uncomfortable but I am going to take your word for it. Thanks for the review!❤️
How much the Draw Lucy cost??
Wow it looks amazing! Beautiful!Rip River😊❤️😢
Greetings from London. I am smiling as I watch this! What a joy to see your improvements. You have convinced me to continue to keep sketching everyday (and to include more watercolour). As a beginner, I also go through phases of just wanting to sketch flowers, then buildings, then anatomy. Now going to binge watch your channel. Interesting choice of reading during Jury service! Go Atticus!
Wow I really love those trees you painted💖
Mine is still one of those old black and white plastic boxes. This palette in the newer triggers me hard, it's so much a waste of space. I like these colours very much because the pans are bigger than others, and they are relatively cheap in Germany. I found a colour card with light fastness information. images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41IbKFmVZPL.jpg For me, Paints with no light fastness information only for crafts, sketching and children. Student Paints are mostly lightfast and less pigmented than artist in order to be cheaper and easier to handle. So you can make gradations easier.
Awesome fun video!!! Loooove the owl swatches !
Is this better then on the iPad Lucida?
Wonderful review! I have this same set but replaced the two Brilliants with two similar hues with much better light-fastness properties. Since I paint portraits that end up framed, its so important to not use the paints made with 100% fugitive dye. Its great for paintings that go into print right away though. I do love my set. Thanks for this adorable review!
My local art store puts their watercolor sheets on sale twice a year at 50% off. I stock up when it happens.
