How To: Knit an I-Cord
Просмотров 870Год назад
This knitting tutorial goes through all the information you need to knit your very own I-Cord! To knit an I-Cord, you will need a pair of double pointed needles, yarn, a sewing needle and some scissors. The concept is that you are essentially knitting a tube that can be used the same way as a conventional drawstring in a hoodie or a pair of comfy pants. Like all knitting, an even tension needs ...

It can be used for a variety of other projects such as hoodies, shorts and beanies. Knit Trips - Port Macquarie Ep 1 (Aussie Knit Trips)
Просмотров 2,6 тыс.2 года назад
Welcome to Port Macquarie! The first leg of my trip saw me travel from Sydney to Port Macquarie on a 10 hr bus and train ride. I only had one full day to see the town, so my best bet was to make the long trek around the coast to the Tacking Point Lighthouse. The lighthouse itself was a bit small, but the coastal walk made up for this. It was a mix between sandy beaches, rocky outcrops and bits ...

Modified Knits - Taylor Sweater Neckline Adjustment
Просмотров 18 тыс.2 года назад
This episode of Modified Knits looks at adjusting the neckline of my Taylor Sweater. This sweater is one of my absolute favourites, but the neckline was becoming much too wide. Whether it started stretching over time or I had just had enough of the width, I wanted to change the neckline into a tighter fit. I've never done anything like this before so it was important that I thought about what w...
My Designs - Knitwits Classic Jumper
Просмотров 1,9 тыс.2 года назад
Welcome to the Knitwits Classic Jumper. This was my first major pattern that I created in collaboration with Jacqui Fink. Being my first pattern, I wanted to make it easy for both me and other knitters. My strategy from the start has been to progressively design more difficult knits and the best starting point was a classic drop sleeve jumper. I also wanted to make a jumper that was just really...

Watch me block my Checkmate Sweater! To find out how to block a garment, you'll just have to watch this video. Why do we block? Blocking helps to even out stitches, set our garment into the shape we want, makes it easier to sew the garment together, accentuates stitches and helps to bring life to the garment. Tips and Tricks: Allow the garment to dry completely, adjust the pins as you go, block...
Let's Yarn! - Design Inspiration

Let's yarn about design inspirations and where we can find them from! Firstly, we have to understand that design inspiration is different for everyone and there is no set rules or process. Inspiration can be developed from literally anywhere in the world. People can find it in nature, through books, papers, online and just life in general. I like to use my previous designs and adapt/add differe...
Let's Yarn! - Frogging my Checkmate Sweater...
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.2 года назад
Come frog my Checkmate Sweater with me... Frogging is a frustrating but necessary part of knitting. It's when you make and error and have to rip it back, or as a frog would say "ribbit"... It's a corny joke but now we have frogging! This is now the 3rd time frogging a part of this jumper... The constant frogging has come from my need to make sure this jumper actually works... Yes it's shocking,...

Firstly, let's keep the comments constructive and positive. When commenting: Think about what you'd like to see in the future, the take aways that you didn't think about, what you value in a collaboration, what you value in a brand, or if you have had a similar experience. We can create a conversation by asking constructive questions rather than making negative statements (this video isn't to s...

The Turtle Stitch Beanie - Knitwits and Yarns
Looks great. Thanks for the inspiration to give this a try. Either I missed it or you didn’t say but did you use a smaller needle than you did originally for the ribbing?
If somebody else can help, any advice is welcome 😊❤
Hi sir, I don't know your name but you can save my life (or at least my sweater - I hope). This is my problem: I just finished the back part of a breautifull sweater but now I can already see that my head won't fit in it 😢😢😢 It was knit with needle nr. 4 and I have only 37 stitches, that will be 74 after knitting the front. But it looks sooo small. I'm afraid to finish the whole sweater and then notice I can't wear it. The rest of the body seems ok. I would like to knit a nice rollar collar on it. Would you be so kind as to give me some advice? If neccessary, I can mail a picture of the part I have been knitting. Thanks a lot in in case you read this. Greetz from Belgium ❤
Thank you Brendan, I am an advanced beginner knitter and have watched a lot of RUclips and I thank you for being real and i can follow you well
I think leaving it just the way it is, is perfect and plain everywhere else compliments the honeycomb and the cable. I like the one purl on the outside edge just the way you have it. Don’t you make it any more complicated simple as good?
I wish I knew how to knit. I was gifted some pretty pink knitting needles, but I don't know how they work. ☹ I do know a little sewing. I used to crochet with my granny when I was little. I think knitting is sorta similar? Great video, Your sweater was awesome!!
Well done! Where do you get your wool here in Australia?
Love your video! Down to earth, honest! Inspired me!
Thanks, this explained it perfectly for me. I looked at so many other videos and they were all poorly explained.
Hola! I am so happy that I found your video. I have a neckline that is too tight; an adjustment is needed. Great information. Thank you!
I hope all is well. I miss seeing your posts. The sweaters with an animal on the front it such a hot trend right now. Have you ever tried that. I hope you are still knitting. Your patterns are so fun to make.
Thank you, very helpful
♥️
Where do I purchase the pattern ?
Knitwits, I knew there would be a site thank you so much I just subscribe today. 🍉💙🫥🤟🙏🧵🩵⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡🖖🖖🖖🖖❄️❄️❄️❄️🍉
I may be retired they just slowed me down and gave me social security disability put me on a bunch of prescriptions yada yada yada I think what a bunch of nits nitpickers knit just that and the other then I started looking around at how easy brass pressing can be and why I'm still wearing Levi's two sizes too big then I thought well NHtSA which they always pronounced nitza... And I thought well if anything I better learn how to spin yarn so that's how I'm here Peace. Yeah Detroit you'd be correct.
Omg I didn't know you had a RUclips channel. I've been following you on Instagram for a few years! 💜
The #checkmatesweater (your pattern of course) has found its way back from Brunie Island to me in Melbourne. My nephew loves it, but the neckline has stretched and is now way too big. (no fault of the pattern, it's the deliciously soft alpaca yarn we chose). So now I know what to do and how to do it, I'm confident enough to get started. Thanks Brendan, for a great tutorial.
Just found your channel the other day. So nice to see and listen to a regular normal guy talking about my favorite hobby, knitting. I’m in California and enjoy your accent. Maybe you’ll introduce your girlfriend someday. 😊👍🏼🧶
Great job! I've read it about, but haven't ever tried it as I never saw anyone do it myself. And I felt a little unsure until I'd witnessed it in action. So, thanks for showing us! It DOES look so much better - and overall it's a very handsome sweater! Flattering on you, too. Thanks!
Dam! That's one handsome knitter. It's great to see guys knitting. 😊
Once the garment is blocked to a certain size, would it need to be blocked again after every wash?
Just made one of these - thanks ! 🙏🏻
Awesome!! Thank you. This is just what I was looking for!
Mr girak!!! Hello its Hudson😊
Mr girak!! It's Hudson great video😊
New knitter here! This video was very inspirational to see a very experienced and accomplished knitter frog back a lot of work. I’m very motivated now to keep practicing, even if I make mistakes, I can fix them. It’s not the end of the world! Thank you! 😊🙏🏾
Was this knit too down? I want to fix my collar on my top down sweater and I’m not sure if I can knit in the opposite direction (bottom up). Do I need to do anything differ t?
I just found you, I crochet but I’m ready to knit, you’re fabulous and down to earth, I’m hooked!
Did that get out the kinks out? I was making a sweater and realized after I was past both sleeves that they were too short! I frogged the sleeves and much more! I began to crochet again and it looks horrible! You can totally tell the difference between the good and bad…. Now, if I steamed 5 hakes of yarn would the texture be the same or do I buy new yarn? 😢
does anyone know how to hang hats like he has behind him? i have so many i need to know 😭
Have you tried knitting on sneakers? Saw your videos on Facebook. Like the beret very much.
I got a pleasant shock to see a fellow Aussie making a knitting tutorial! All the tutorials I watch are by Americans or Japanese. This made me smile!!! 😁🧶
Thank you! I'm making a sweater and the neckline was way too short. Tried to pick up stitches on the already finished neckline and it looks horrible. I would never had the guts to cut it and just frog. Thank you for your input and the great video obviously.
I think I have told you this before, I know i have, you are fantastic. I love that you tell how you pull out and try again. You spend a lot of money on the yarn, yes, you will want the garment to look the way you envisioned it in the first place. 63 years of experience and i still pull out to make it look better. You are a credit to your parents young man.😊
You are awesome young man.😊
Thank you for sharing this. So easy! ❤
Thank you. I am about to knit my tension square. Nice to hear an Aussie voice too. Looking forward to more videos by you. Happy knitting 🧶

appreciate your refreshing honesty...and yes ! it is incredibly rewarding to be able to make your own clothes!!!
I have the opposite problem. I made a baby sweater. and the collar is too tight.
🙃 'Promosm'
Any chance you could put a link to the stores you get the wool from? Seems like many are overseas and I would like to support Australian wool.
My wrists have been having issues. I'm going to try your way of doing it.
Hello Aussie mate....you knit the same way as me,,,,,,,greetings from another Aussie knitter.
