    Hey bud check the website because when I looked, your exact watch had loom on the 12 o'clock position. Also the upside-down triangle glows big-time. The entire watch lights up like an x más tree!!!!

    out of pure curiosity i just searched youtube for reviews. glad to see other people have this watch as well. it's a fair watch given its price and the fact that it is an actual limited edition. i bought mine in may of 2019 and it has been since part of my weekly rotation (i wear it at least 2 days per week). despite the fact that it is a big watch, being titanium made makes it very comfy and easy to wear (that is if you adjust it to the wrist size), it really looks awesome and stands out in a very unique way among the chronograph (it's in my top 3 in terms of looks for sure) that are out there and for me the bonus is the relation to space watches. i would like though to point out 1 major minus and 2 other minor. 1st one is the holes for the lugs, they drilled them too close to the case border, so the metal bracelet is easy to take off, but very painful to put it back on. the other problem that comes with the very little space remaining between the lugs and the case is the fact that if you want to use another strap, you need to use a very thin one, a leather one is a big no no, even with curved lugs (unless you find a very very thin one), even a heavy duty nylon strap (which are pretty thick) have said no because of that space tolerance... the other 2 minor minuses are the fact that i really don't like the wobble of the crown (but i've read at some point somewhere else that it usually comes with the movement?) and the actual power reserve, which noticed it kind off doesn't last more than 30-35 hours, let alone a loss of around 2-3 min per day after almost 4 years of having it. truth be told, the part about the movement is not a huge issue at all, just rather annoying to know it's there. i would have bought the watch regardless, even knowing beforehand all this. small ps: be careful about the scratches, it's not the friendliest in regards for a daily beater. cheers for the video!

    I appreciate your thorough review and agree with your praises and criticisms (I say this having never seen the watch in person). I thought it funny that another review video, of the limited edition Anthropocene, was critical of the rotatong bezel being unidirectional, as he felt a GMT should have a bidirectional bezel. However, that watch only had 150 m WR. Go figure, eh? My attraction to the watch is largely due to its name, and the longer I contemplate the more I figure I will probably purchase a different watch, and then give the difference in funds to the charitable organization.

    DON'T buy any christopher ward watch! I purchased their C65 chronograph watch. When winding it, it felt like the watch was filled with sand. Super gritty and required a lot of effort to wind. CW insisted I return the watch. Then fought me every step of the return process. Did not want to pay for the return shipping which was $237 with insurance. They refused to accept the watch back, I had to email them demanding they accept the watch. Now they are fighting me on refunding the $1,615. And they are also refusing to refund the customs fee of $84. And they have a 60 day, no excuse return policy proudly displayed on their website and are still fighting me every step. I gave up fighting with them and filed a dispute with my credit card company. BAD watch, TERRIBLE company !!!!!!

    Beautiful watch. As an American, I'll order one when Christopher Ward either sells through an affiliate in the U.S. or uses another delivery company other than DHL. DHL has the reputation for adding extra costs related to customs duties so that what you wind up paying is totally unpredictable according to the nightmare stories I've read about this online. Paying $90 for customs is not bad, but there's no guarantee with DHL that it won't be much more.

    • @tomswatchreviews9784
      @tomswatchreviews9784 2 года назад

      That’s totally up to you of course, but I wouldn’t base my purchase decision solely on the delivery company. All of them have bad reviews if you look long enough. And most customers with a positive experience don’t leave a review. I’d bet that CW has send thousands of watches to the US via DHL. Assuming a margin of error of 5% that’ll naturally translate into a few bad reviews. I’m not saying the bad reviews are unreasonable nor am I saying DHL is an outstanding carrier, I’m just saying that I wouldn’t let myself be put out of a great watch only because of DHL. That being said, there are many CW available on the US second hand market. Thank you for your comment.

    Congrats...great overview of this fine watch! I have a Trident C60 GMT with a black gloss dial and red bezel. They used X1 lume which seems pretty strong, but not as strong as my Swiss Watch Co Bunker. The CW has been a fantastic watch. I liked it so much, I've purchased two additional watches from them bronze and the saphire. These are based on the Selita SW200. I had to send both back for service as they developed the "helicoptering" issue where the rotor would spin with the crown. It took about two months to service at no charge covered under warranty. I'm pretty sure the SW200 has issues because other brands using the same movement had the same issues. Overall, CW is a stand up company with great service and a tremendous value. I just purchased the new Concept watch and can't wait to see it in person. The concept is using a new type of lume that's supposed to be brighter than thr X1 lume on the Trident. BTW..I totally agree with you on watch size. I have a 7.5" (190mm) wrist and anything smaller than 40mm starts to look silly. The new Baltic would have been a winner but it's a 36mm, silly small!

    • @tomswatchreviews9784
      @tomswatchreviews9784 2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment. I have an Ocean Crawler with SW200. No issues on that one so far. Good to hear that CW actually lives up to their warranty promises and fixed yours at no cost. I’ve been looking at Farer and Aevig for another GMT, but both are 39mm, so that’s a pass for me unfortunately. Both watches look stunning.

    • @markedfortime
      @markedfortime 2 года назад

      @@tomswatchreviews9784 I have a Farer Bradfield..not the GMT. It's 39.5mm, but because it's all dial, it wears a lot larger. The CW Sapphire is 40mm, but because of the stainless steel bezel, it wears much smaller. The smallest watches I have are the anOrdaine, which are 38.5mm. They're all dial and darker, so the contrast helps, but I can tolerate them because they're just amazing and work well as dress watches. I have pics posted on IG if you want to see how they look.

    Great review thanks Tom. Four questions. 1) is the 14.3mm case to thick? 2) is the watch too heavy at 190 grams? 3) Is the watch too top heavy as a result of the weight? 4) What do you prefer your CW or Oris Aquis? I don't mind the black screws but I wouldn't use white as they could mark or chip. I think silver screws would match better in my opinion. Thanks again 😊

    • @tomswatchreviews9784
      @tomswatchreviews9784 2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment, Daniel. To answer your questions, I don’t think 14.3mm is too thick, but I have a 7.75 wrist and on a smaller wrist it might appear different. I put my C60 on the scale and it came in at 185 grams. I like it when watches have a little bit of weight to them, so I don’t mind if they are heavier. I think for an automatic watch on a stainless steel bracelet that’s about an average weight. I do not feel the watch top heavy at all. If I had to choose between the CW and the Oris Aquis, I’d take the Aquis. Although the CW has the updated movement with longer power reserve. I like bezel action on the Aquis better and the ability to track a third time zone. The Aquis also has better lume, but does not has a full lume bezel, only a lume pip (which the CW is missing), and no lume on the gmt hour hand. So there’s pros and cons to both. I hope that answers your questions. I think the black screws do blend in with the black minute markers, but yea they don’t really bother me. Thanks again for reaching out 🤙

    Hey Tom, appreciate the in depth review, thank you. I received mine through the post last Wednesday (27th Oct) and I’m very pleased with the quality and of course it’s looks. One thing I have noticed with mine is that the 12/24 hour marker on the bezel doesn’t exactly line up with 12 on the dial, looking at yours on the video I seem to think it’s the same?? It does bug me a little, should I expect more for the price of the watch or is this the “norm” and am I being far to critical? What are your thoughts please. Overall though I’m very happy with it 😊👍 Also my guarantee card has been signed but they haven’t put my name in it like they have with yours! Enjoy your watch, cheers

    • @tomswatchreviews9784
      @tomswatchreviews9784 2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment. I did in fact think that my bezel does not line up exactly at the 12 o’clock position, but as I was looking at it longer and from different angles I now think it’s an optical illusion. My bezel does line up perfectly with every other index on the dial and so I assume it does the same with the 12 o’clock position, however the way the inside of the bezel reflects the 12 o’clock index might create an optical illusion with the bezel marker.

    Thanks for reviewing this piece! I’ve been sorta wanting a Spacemaster as a fun companion to my Speedmaster, but they’re quite hard to find. And you’re correct, the Chinese characters on the case back 火星500 do mean Mars 500. One last thing, it’s a chronograph, not a chronometer :)

      Thank you! It sits very well on the wrist as the bracelet with its fitted end links tucks the wrist very well. Also, the case is well designed to give a good fit. I really don’t feel the 14mm. Mine is at about +10 seconds per day, which is well within the tolerance of -/+ 20 seconds. However, I think it will improve over time as the movement breaks in.
