Christmas Lionel Postwar 627 Diesel Outfit 1543 from 1956 #christmastrain #toytrain #lioneltrains #
Lionel made this train set in 1956. This is Outfit Set Number 1543.
This 027 Gauge Train Set includes the Number 627 Lehigh Valley Center Cab 44-ton Diesel switcher, the No. 6121 Flat Car with Pipes
(I am using logs making this a 6111), the No. 6112 Gondola with red Canisters and the No. 6017 SP-type Caboose.
Of note: This version of the 44-tonner doesn't have a factory headlight.
Made a homemade searchlight car with the 6111/6121 flatcar.
Only this 1 set outfit made in 1956 has this scarce issue of the "Lionel" 6017 caboose - it lacks the "Lines" of other examples of the 6017.

I had just woke up and the coffee didn't have a chance to kick in, yet LOL 🙂 Hope everybody liked it. This is probably my favorite Lionel set that I have with me right now. It's a colorful, realistic looking steamer set from the tail-end of both steam in the USA and the best years of Lionel.
Very nice

Still remember back in the days Indonesian trains are trash, so crowded, people are sitting on it, so dirty, chaotic, and now look at this. Woah.

This is the amazing high speed rail line, brand new & only open since late 2023. China's HSR High Speed Rail network is the largest in the world. And they have the fastest trains in the world now. Yes, the Chinese HSR trains are FASTER than those in Europe including both Germany/France & yes, faster than the much talked about Shinkansen Japanese bullet trains. Whoosh is FASTER! Indonesia literally leap-frogs ahead decades ahead of other countries with this transportation. High Speed Rail is better for the planet, better for people & the best alternative to both road transport and air travel. You get the high speed travel time, and the train is a much better ride than either the bus or plane. AWESOME WAY TO GO - Indonesia~! Whoosh YES!

Midland Freight looks great but its so... plastic 😂😮😂 real MPC! 😂❤ The crane car is like 99% plastic 😂 the 4 wheel caboose all plastic, the engine is a plastic shell docksider body of course 😂😂❤🎉😂😊
The Marx battery engine has 2 speeds: 1.forward and 2. backwards 😂😮😅
Merry Christmas in July!!! 🎉😂🎉
I love old school floor layouts❤!
These Indonesian KAI 🎉intercity trains blast past the commuter platforms! 😂😮🎉
It's a fast smooth ride. 🎉 If ride was 3 hours, 😂 🎉 I would either take 2 biz class seats side by side😂 or the 1st class VIP solo😮 seat!🎉❤😊
😂Jakarta SHIA was crowded 4 su'😂
Comments about cost of train and profit: Guess what??? It just opened! And ridership is low without service yet to Surabaya. Once extended to the length of the line planned to Surabaya there will be a much larger market for riders. Also, that trip will be reduced from 8 hours down to 3 aboard the Whoosh. While people in North America can only dream about such fast trains, Indonesia has already made this dream a reality with the help of China. Best of luck and blessings~!
The sound is from an actual General Electric U-series diesel engine.
End of this year or early next year the second phase of this bullet train project will be continuing. Indonesian railways last decade is so so bad. But nowday has change revolutionary.
Yes, it is amazing to see. China was still using steam locomotives 20 years ago in train service. But today China has the largest network of HSR High Speed Rail in the world and it continues to expand. Before Laos had no railway at all. But now Laos has a modern fast passenger train route connected with China and should be expanded to Thailand. But yes, one can actually take a train now the entire length of Laos. And just a few years ago such a trip was an impossible dream. Indonesia is doing well to develop it's passenger and freight train infrastructure. Both in Jakarta and on Java island but also to other parts of Indonesia as well. It's great for the people of Indonesia and for visitors and tourists as well, of course.
@@LionelPostwarMPC Yes and the surprising the state own company of PT INKA, also growth rapidly, make new Jakarta LRT, the new KRL, and also export coaches and loco to Philippines, Bangladesh, etc. Next in 2026 the medium speed train made locally by PT INKA will be launching.
🎉Da Lat city is the great and best place near HCMC that is Saigon. Overnight bus ride easy trip from TP HCM to TP DaLat even the buses leave right near Pham Ngu Lau & Bui Vien for the foreigners in District-1 its a super easy bus ride.
The Video are incredible. You are wise and smart traveller using the train for your trip. Avoiding the traffic jam and the hectic of Jakarta. And of course exact time depart and arrival. This train made in by local state own company name PT. KAI. All of train class in Indonesia now with AC from the lowest class to the most expensive. In some class with free WiFi on board. Free drinking water in some main station. Enjoy your holidays.

Awesome
I remember Joe D doing Mr. Coffee commercials when I was a kid.
I worked onboard an American flag/crewed oil tanker named after Joe D's hometown. There's an entire Joe D memorabilia display with authentic autographed Joe D sports stuff kept in display cases onboard the oil tanker. Fascinating since it's just in the captain's meeting room - only crew ever get to see it! 🙂

Hi bob !
Hi Ray🤠
Happy New Year 2024~!
Bob, I enjoyed your wind up train action. Wind up trains are fun.
Thank you, Steve!
Very nice
Have you ever tried pulling a Fun-dimensions tender and cars with the steamers? I took a Marx wind-up locomotive that would not move when coupled to a postwar car with metal trucks. I got it to pull a Fun-dimensions tender and three fun-dimensions freight cars.
Nice shots in and out of the dark. Thanks for sharing.
The metal body would give it more traction, but the plastic body would give the locomotive a lower center of gravity and, at least in theory, allow it to go around curves at a higher speed.
Yeah, my 1110 is a speed demon & will derail at speed on those O27 curves LOL
A lot of action in a small space. Fun to watch!
A nice review of the Yard King set from 1981. Except for the caboose, you covered each piece in detail and did a fine job. Your knowledge of MPC is commendable.
Having the same ones at home
Neat elevated level and lots of train action.
I enjoyed your video very much. I am confused about one thing, the Greenberg's Lionel Price Guide classifies it as an NW2 Switcher although I thought all NW2's had three position e-units. Can you shed any light on this?
Hello and thanks for the comment! I enjoy your channel very much as well, thanks for your uploads! Lionel MPC made a number of the NW-2 switchers without 3-position E-units. another example is the 8111 DT&I orange switcher from the 1970s, which I also have and it has a manual reverse unit. Yes, that one is 3-position but controlled by a lever on top of the engine and doesn't cycle at all when power is cut to the track. One can change the direction to Forward-Neutral-Reverse but it's all done by hand, no E-unit at all in it. What's really interesting was the seller thought the E-unit was bad, ordered a new one for the Reading Yard King and put it in - guess what? He did order the correct E-unit for the engine but it's also a 2-Position E-unit as well. So he threw an extra into the box for me, but both of them are the MPC-era 2-position only E-units (bangs head on table) LOL Laugh Out Loud!
Thanks for getting back to me Bob. I found out the difference between the SW-1 and the NW-2 really has more to do with the original prototype locomotives. The SW-1 prototype EMD motor had 600 horsepower while the NW-2 motor had 900 horsepower. Basically the models both look the same.
Cool video.
THANK YOU!!!
I like it !!
THANK YOU Ray~!!!
Hi bob !
Hello Ray! 🙂
😊😊😊 mntap
Very nice train, it really performs well even with 2 cars,
Yes, it's running decent on the Lionel 3-rail O27 track - these trains don't really "like" the crossovers which are not made for the clockwork trains 🙂
