Welcome everyone, you are most welcome here! You’ve found my corner of flosstube!
A bit about me: I’ve loved cross-stitching since I first was gifted a Dimensions kit over 15 years ago. I didn’t start cross-stitching daily until 2020 (we all know why!) but since then it’s been a daily habit and a wonderful way to reduce stress. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for over 13 years and we have a seven-year old who is the light of our lives. We also have two goofy dogs and a very imperious cat. I work in a high-stress environment as an IT project manager for a medical university, but in my previous life I went to graduate school for English Literature and still carry that love of literature and reading with me.
I love our stitching community and I’m always happy to meet new stitchers and come together over our mutual interest. I hope you’ll join me as I work with needle and thread and find joy in every stitch.

So good to see you back! 😍 I hope your health issues will go away very very soon! Sending you positive thoughts! ❤️ You‘ve done a lot in these past months! 😮 So much beautiful stitching! 😍 And the framed pieces look absolutely stunning - so great you get to have them on your wall now 😍
Thank you Alex!! It was so good to be backs thank you for the well wishes! And honestly? Getting those works on my walls has fired up that Stitchy bug. I want MORE stuff to hang up! 😄😄
Hi there! So glad to see you back 😊your framing looks fantastic! I do all of my own framing, and also subscribe to the “done is good enough” philosophy 😅 Cathedral Woods was my first Mira too, and I love her so much! Your other Mira start…on that fabric…holy moly! It’s going to be amazing 🖤I have stitched on 40ct Shadow, and it isn’t the easiest. I found that using a ball tip needle made it much more enjoyable! Loved all of your starts and WIPs. Hope you are feeling better soon! Happy stitching ♥️
It was so good to be back! Thank you for your lovely compliments 😄 I’m so glad you like the Shakespeare’s Fairies on that fabric. I was obsessed as soon as I got the fabric in and worked almost monogamously for a few weeks. Great tip about the ball tip needle! I haven’t yet tried one so maybe I’ll add one to my next 123 order ☺️☺️
Enjoyed your wip parade, and trying to not buy all the beautiful things you are stitching.....haha! I hope you get to feeling better.
Thank you! So glad you enjoyed the wip parade! I know what you mean about trying to not buy stuff!! Sometimes I watch wip parades to just fill out my “to buy” list 😄
Fabric looks great with the Botanical Garden!
Thank you!!
You have so many nice projects. They are beautiful. I see you use scroll frames. What type of stand do you use with them ? Enjoyed seeing everything you have started.
Thank you! If I’m using a short set of scroll rods (12-16”) I generally use my Lowery. For the longer sets I use my Hearthside Craftworks lap stand. Happy to have you here!
Tamra - I really enjoy your channel. It's so real and I see pieces I haven't seen before. I am also waivering on the Dangerous Aquarium and thank you for talking about it. I want to do it but I have 4 SAL's at the moment, not sure if I could handle 5. Keep these flosstubes coming - love them.
Thanks so much! I still haven’t started it! It’s kitted and ready to go but I might wait for the first release to start. Thanks for the support and hopefully I can film another episode soon!
Oh no! I, too, have been doing 2 over 2 on the BAP and I have done the bottom 2 pages from the bottom left side. I saw where they said you should use 1 thread but I didn’t see where it said over 1 thread. Since I am using DMCs I used 2 threads cuz the cost to buy more is minimal….. I am not frogging. I may need to make some other adjustments…ugh. Good luck with yours!
Oh! I must have misspoke, it’s definitely 1 over 2 (there is some 1 over 1 of course). With DMc I think you should be ok as the dye lots are very slow to change! Thanks for your comment ☺️☺️
The leap day project is so intricate and pretty! Thanks for sharing all your gorgeous pieces.
Thank you for your kind comment! I haven’t worked on this type of mandala before so it’s lovely to see it come to life.
Thank you so much for the shoutout! I LOVE the conversion that you did to the Shamrock Sampler, makes me wonder about how I could change up one or two of the ST in my collection of to be stitched... HappyStitching!
Thank you for commenting! I’ve loved your channel for ages but I’m so much of a lurker! And I’m honored you like the shamrock sampler-your own ST stitching is what led me to seek out their patterns! I can’t wait to see what you do with them!
Hi Tamra…thank you so much for mentioning my channel,I really appreciate it. Your stitching is so lovely…I love that you are trying new finishing techniques. My fingers are crossed that you find the flosses match well for your BAP that was spooked to be one over one. It is devastating to discover this kind of error but you seem so ready to make it work. Bravo.
Thank you for your kind comment. It was my pleasure to mention your channel-I very much enjoy your stitching! I’ve ordered the new floss for the BAP and have my fingers crossed, too, in hopes that the dye-lots aren’t too different ☺️
That cat from Kooler Design Studio looks amazing, thank you for pointing out that it is not even backstitched, I wish they would sell the pattern for it separately. Wow, a two hour commute one way only ? That means 8 working hours plus one for lunch time plus four hours , a 13 hour day for work, where do you find the energy to do it? When I commuted for only one hour one way I was so tired... Anyway, happy stitching ! Ps. 60 kitted projects is not so much, some people have more than 90 already started, so you actually are doing very good by just having your projects kitted.
Isn’t the cat so amazing?! I can’t wait to see what the other cats look like. 2 hours one way only-it does make for a very long day. I would say that for most of the time I’ve lived in or around NYC that was typical though! And this one only has one transfer ☺️
You picked the perfect fabric for greenhouse of oddities! New subscriber and new to sharing on flosstube myself. Thank you for sharing your projects.
Thanks so much for your kind compliment! I’ll have to head over and give your Flosstube a watch too! ☺️
I had to laugh when u were talking about taking a trip to Michael's to get floss VS a 123 order...even going to that site right now is dangerous for me 🤑 whereas at least w Michael's since their kit selection is so skimpy I'm usually marked safe from going too overboard...alltho that doesn't stop me from taking a peek to see if they stocked anything new I haven't seen 😂. So excited ur doing the aquarium too! I'm actually stitching that while catching up on my ft videos for the week; I still have my other wipgo call to pull out n do, but I really want to get at least the 310 of the frame done in the 1st 2 weeks cuz I really want to keep up w this! And I'm really enjoying it so now I may have to purchase the greenhouse pattern and rotate that in as well lolol I dont have any irl stitchy friends either, so I pretty much rely on ft...and ima do an ig soon I've been holding out but I really should do it! Happy stitching hope ur having fun w the new Lola crow sal! 🪡❤️
Glad I gave you a chuckle! To be fair anywhere I can get cross stitch supplies is bound to be a budget buster but oh well! I haven’t started the aquarium yet but have plans to put stitches in today. It was such a busy week and I hadn’t prepped my floss yet, but I did that last night so I’m ready to go! Glad to hear it’s enjoyable too-I’m looking forward to getting going on it!
Whoa - just watching along & loving all your projects. But you're in NJ ? About 2hr commute from NYC ? And do Projects? ME TOO. I'm down near Princeton/Trenton. Are you nearby? In person stitchy friends potential 🙂
Hello! Yes I’m in NJ-I’m more North though between the 78 and the 287! Princeton isn’t too far though-just about an hour drive! 😃
First time viewing your floss tube. You have amazing pieces! Thank you for sharing them!
Thank you so much!
Just found you. Wonderful projects, great presentation. Don't apologize for rambling, I learned a lot. How other people manage their stitching is always helpful and I've been stitching a long time. Looking forward to watching your earlier videos.
Thanks so much for your nice compliments! I’m so glad to have you here!
Another great video. I just love that Halloween wreath. Beautiful finish!
Thank you! Isn’t that wreath amazing? I can’t wait to fully finish it!
Congratulations on your cute finish. You have such a beautiful variety of projects.
Thank you!! I love working on everything- an x is an x 😁
Thank you for sharing! All your stitches are gorgeous. Following :)
Thanks Rosie! Happy to have you here ☺️
First time watching your Flosstube and I’m looking forward to more of your videos.
Happy to have you here Cathy!
Thank you for explaining the whole slippage thing! 🪡❤️ ur wips look great!!!
Thank you! I’m so glad it made sense! ☺️
Hi, mind confirming the designer for "Christmas"? LOVE IT.
Hey! It’s Renato Parolin, they’re an Italian designer-they have a shop and an Etsy, but this is a printed pattern they mail to you. It’s a beaut isn’t it?!
@@LitCatStitches Thanks so much. The picture doesn't do it justice but when I saw your WIP, wowza!!!!
@kima9181 I agree! If I hadn’t seen it stitched I wouldn’t have picked it up either. That’s what I love about flosstube! So much wonderful enabling 😅
What a beautiful line up of projects! Glad to have found you 🙂
Thanks so much! 😊 glad to have you here!
Great job with the color changes on your bap!! I changed some as well and it was fun!!
Oh thank you! What changes do you make?!
@@LitCatStitches I can send you the list :) It's pretty long. LOL
Really enjoyed your Wip parade. Love your colour conversions for the Prairie Schooler and the Happy Mood point. Look forward to seeing your progress this year. I also have a flosstube. Have been away so hope to film another soon.
Thank you! I hope you film soon-I’ll go check out your previous video though!
Hello, I stitch the namarie tapestry too ❤❤❤. I love all of your wips and the colour conversion you make. I will follow you to see your future progress 😊. Little kisses from France 😚😍
Hello! So glad to have you here! I’d love to see your Namarie tapestry. I think it’s a pattern that really lends itself to interpretation for the colors. ☺️
@@LitCatStitches I have choosen a dark blue aida 7 and B5200 floss and some silver floss here and there. How can we share with you our wips ? Mail ?
@charlynedodier9682 that sounds lovely! You can reach out to my email Litcatstitches @ gmail or you can find me on Instagram as Litcatstitches. I can’t wait to see!
I’m right there with you on wips. I think I have about 20. I have looked at those sew much to love bird patterns so many times, but haven’t purchased any yet. They’re so adorable. I think if you’re not happy with a project you won’t stitch on it. Love watching the progress your lovely projects.
Very true! I have a few things I’ve put aside for such a long time because there’s something wrong with it or it has a big mistake. Why do that “work” when I can stitch something easier and happier? If I really want it I’ll go back to it someday I think. Thank you for watching and for you nice compliment!
great projects, thanks for sharing. That Vierlande -- if I have FORO (Fear of Running Out) then I don't stitch the border-- the border you can do in a sightly darker color or non variegated color and it will look purposeful. I'm thinking about doing that sampler too. Good luck
That’s a great idea, thank you!!
Your Charlotte Warrington and Long Dog are gorgeous. You are very good at choosing your own colors and you did a very good job explaining the one over one half cross. Beautiful projects and stitching.
Thanks so much for your kind compliments and for letting me know the one over one explanation made sense!
I really like your color changes for Charlotte Warrington 1838. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!!
Just came across ur channel...I LOVE me a wip parade!😂 Really enjoy all ur projects and how u choose a wide variety! Ur wips r like mine, I don't really have a specific style I prefer- if I like the design I'm stitchin it! Lol... I've never done any samplers yet tho and not really into the prim or patriotic style either; but also not ruling them out entirely if 1 eventually catches my eye!!! I love ur stitching uve gotten SO much done! Makes me wanna stitch faster😂...how do u manage to stitch so well on 40ct w half cross? Do u get alot of slippage?
Yay! Thank you! I love stitching anything that catches my eye too lol. I did answer your question in my latest video-thank you for asking! Basically-it’s all in the tension for me but you can also alternate top and bottom entry points to provide a lateral stitch on the back to help prevent slippage!
@LitCatStitches tysm!!! Going to try that method! I just saw u posted a new video...can't wait to watch next time I can sit down to stitch!! 🪡❤️
@StitchinwLoo oh great! I hope it works for you!
Enjoyed the variety of your projects. Thanks for sharing. Hope you will keep us updated on your progress when you have time.
Thank you! I hope to film again very soon!
I enjoyed seeing your wip parade. First time seeing your channel & subscribed! Happy stitching😊
Thanks so much for the nice compliment! Very happy to have you here!
Thanks for sharing all your beautiful projects!
Thanks for watching and for your nice compliment!
For the dimensions ornaments where you already cut down the fabric: sew some quilting cotton strips on the sides so you can put it in a bigger hoop. I do this all the time. Works perfectly. 😊
Oh my gosh, I hear people say that all the time on flosstube but I totally didn’t think about it for myself. Thank you for the reminder that this is something I can do!! 😃
Enjoyed! ❤
Thank you!
Thank you for sharing all your beautiful projects! I love the variety! I have subscribed and will continue to watch you!❤
Thank you! I’m so glad you liked the variety! You’re most welcome here 😊
I loved viewing your wip parade! Just subscribed tonight. Have a great stitchy week ahead! Cheers 🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
Thanks Marilyn! I’m so glad you liked the video! Happy to have you here 😊
Amazing video! What a WIP parade absolutely love your pieces😍
Thanks Kayli! And thanks for commenting because now I’m going to watch your wip parade!
This was a wonderful WIP parade. I’m so happy I found your channel.
Thanks Diane! Happy to have you here!
I just found your channel and you are absolutely my cup of tea ☕️. You have such a great variety of projects. I have the Spring Fairy Dimensions kit that I want to start…I haven’t seen anyone else stitching it but I love the colours.
That’s so sweet of you, thank you! I love the spring fairy colors too-I’m excited to see how the filament looks in the fairy wings. I have a feeling it’s going to be spectacular. Happy to have you here!
So glad to see you back and thanks for the wip parade! Loved seeing all of your wips!
So glad to be back! 😃
Hi Tamra! Sorry to reach out this way- if you can check your Ravelry messages, I’d appreciate it! 😅 Trying to get in touch about some stash yarn you have listed.
Just discovered your flosstube as RUclips was throwing up some wip parades. Enjoyed all your projects and stash. Looking forward to your October update. Hope you’ve had a great stitchy month.
I love WIP parades, and yours was terrific. If I may make a suggestion....I couldn't admire your work as much as I wanted to because in some cases the projects were so backlit that the work was washed out for me. Or in other cases, they were held up in such a way that they were not fully on camera. I hate to be so picky, but I also want to appreciate all the hard work that you put into the projects and into the flosstube.
Thank you for letting me know!! I’ve ordered some better lighting and I hope my next video will be able to show everything off in a better light (pun intended! ☺️) I’ll also work at holding things up longer and make sure everything is in frame. Thank you for your kind comment and suggestions, it’s appreciated!
Thank you. I really enjoyed your wip parade.
Thank you!
Your video landed in my RUclips feed this morning. It’s only Monday and I feel the week has gone off in spectacular fashion. However; now I feel compelled to go back and watch all of your FlossTube videos. I need to catch up! Fast. You really achieved a lot of September stitching. You are so close to finishing “September’s Revenge “. I cannot wait to see your finished project. I adore the subtle color changes you made and think it enhances the piece significantly. I will be “borrowing” your color changes. I took several screenshots of charts that may be included in my Black November stitching. Thank you for the inspiration and the information. Now it’s down to finding time to “stitch all the things.” I’m beginning to think that sleeping is preventing me from adding more stitching time into my 24 hour day! I’m sure you can relate. Until next time … Happy Stitching!
Thanks so much for your wonderful compliments! So happy you found my channel and some great new charts to stitch! I DID finish September’s Revenge so I’ll be sure to show that off next time! Thanks again! Your comment made my day! 😊
LOVE a good haul .... and that fabric for Black Cats, wowza!
Glad you liked it! I can’t wait to get some of them started. And that fabric really is wow worthy!
Beautiful wips, specially the Christmas tree❤ great first video!
Thank you!
I love that you are doing a John Milton sampler. I had a class on him in grad school nearly 20 years ago. It was a great class.
That’s awesome! Milton was one of my favorite parts of grad school 😊
