I like how Dark Souls was single-player but allowed you to leave messages on the ground for other players to read; it also showed you "ghosts" of other people which was really interesting. What you're describing in the video is similar to something that was done way back in the 2000s with NCAA and Madden football games. You could create a player in NCAA (college football), play through his entire college career and then import him and all his stats into Madden (NFL football). I thought it was a pretty cool feature as a kid.

As good an idea it might be... Corpos do not like good features unless they can exploit it for money, and they are also lazy too since Steamworks allows them to do lots of things including what you are saying. Framework is there, but greed and laziness wins the day

So, i just wanted to add a little disclaimer real fast: I am in no way an expert in working with steam or steam cloud. I haven't even used steam cloud yet in my game. So I could be completely wrong in this idea. Steam cloud might just save all the game files meaning you'd be limited in storage space (since each steam game only has a steam cloud storage capacity of a certain amount). However, i do know that within steam's documentation for steam cloud and steam shared cloud is this: Steam specifically uses the example of having a game demo and full game sharing the same steam cloud. This is useful for transferring progress from a demo to the full game. But, since a demo is normally just a snippet of the full game, the full game and demo normally share the exact same files and therefore you wouldn't hit the steam cloud storage limit. If you can choose what files get stored on steam cloud, then my idea would 100% work. If not, my idea would only work for much smaller games that also share assets between the two games. I will experiment with this idea at some point most likely to give an official answer of how steam cloud works and the viability of my idea.

Expert mode : Treat the game as if you are playing it for the first time, meaning that you need to re-figure out how things work. You need to go to the White Hole station to learn about warp platforms, then raise the black hole forge (Which you need to learn about *why* it's important through other dialogue, presumably from mentions of an "Ash Twin Project") Either brute force or head to the high energy lab to learn about how Ash Twin has towers that warp across different spots in the solar system, and learn about how there is a brief window of time where a warp platform is "open" and how you don't need to be *on* it when it starts to open, just when it *is* open. Yadayada, you know the gist of it. Try getting all the quantum signals starting from this so called "Tower of Quantum Knowledge" or the mysterious moving rock in Ember Twin. 100% the game and all of that.

I think Imma look into how the Vengeful Cannon mod works and make a new mod where probes get spawn at a random distance and position from the player and then get shot at them. probes would also be spawned in at a random time interval. That way it really would be like you're getting hunted down by a Orbital Strike Cannon.
