How To Install A 60 Amp AC Disconnect
Very impressive. Cheers, Rus! 👍👍✌️
Thank you! Cheers!
I lose track from time to time. Nice job here Rus. More importantly, nice job on the new channel. Ive done the same as you, only with a griddle only channel as BBQ/SMOKING just seems un-growable at the moment. Unless you cheat. Haha. Cheers brother and keep on keeping on.
Thanks Tommy! Good to hear from ya. I'll have to find your new channel. Yeah the BBQ scene is just not what it use to be unfortunately. Cheers Tommy!
Love Vevor!
Thank you sir. This has really helped me at my new job. I saved your vid for future reference.
Glad it helped
Great review Rus. Thing is a Beast
Play it again Rus lol😂. Awesome job sir🍻🍻🔥🔥
Thought I deleted the one on my cooking channel, but nope, it was this one LOL. I hate getting in a hurry
just put my dip in ziploc to keep moist.
I was going to buy one of those until I realized my local Lowes had the Lincoln Electric welding tables in stock. I spent about 70 some odd dollars more but I'm really glad I did whenever I look at the harbor freight tables now. That harbor freight looks like I could make it wobble with a gentle hand.
I just looked at the Lincoln and noticed it does not have leveling feet at the bottom of the legs so I would think that table would wobble on a un-level floor. I’ve had no problems at all with that with the Harbor Freight table. I use it a lot
@@SkillSavvyDIY They have one leg that can level but that's it. It's a stout table. I can't wobble it with a hand. Feels like it weighs probably 60 or 70lbs fully assembled and the legs fold up and theyre adjustable height.. Assembly took a while too the table top is in 4 pieces and it has a brace down the middle and suooprts. Theres maybe 50 10mm nuts in the package and I needed a deep well 10mm witch I didn't have so I was forced to "borrow" one 😆Supposed to hold I think 600 lbs but I might be wrong. But I was sold on the fold up leg design lol
I have a Prime Weld Tig 225ACDCP A great Welder.
Yes it is. I've been very happy with mine!
Great video. I just ordered mine today! I have a Lincoln 180 mig but want to learn tig and build a stainless exhaust for my project car.
Thank you! Great choice. You will enjoy it!
Walking the cup has its place in the pipe world but it should stay there. On aluminum id never do this. Been welding 27 years and have done miles of aluminum and personally think this is a bad idea. Unless it’s all fill keeping the arc focused and pulling a puddle along free handing will achieve better penetration. Not to mention you are just making a huge heat affected zone.
I understand what you’re saying. Back in the 80’s there were a lot of US navy ships being built such as the CG class that had aluminum super structures which used a lot of aluminum piping throughout of which a lot of this piping was welded using this technique. Most of the aluminum bulkheads were welded using spray arc and other processes, but pipe fabrication was all tig and walking the cup was the preferred method and did a great job and accepted by the Navy procedures. I’ve done my share of aluminum in the 44 years I’ve been welding. Been retired for 3 years now. Thanks for watching
Great vid Rus - I'm no expert, but I can't help but think all that UV in your iPhone lens isn't a good thing. A filter is certainly the way to go. As a know-nothing about welding person, I actually found it a bit too dark for me to see the flow of the weld. (Add some red lighting that will pass through the filter?) Happy Thanksgiving - Cheers!
Thanks Garry! If I can get it to match what I’m actually seeing with my eyes then it will be good. I’m getting close and definitely better than my other attempts. Thanks for watching
I know it's late Rus but had a busy day my friend , that being said , two things I want to say one ,, good video. Two love the cap. !!! THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.........
Thanks Frank, I appreciate it! Enjoy Thanksgiving
that looked pretty good. do a little tweaking. you get it.. nice job rus
Yeah, I'm gonna try to use my Sony A6600 and see what I get. I'm getting there. Thanks for watching Scotty
Looks like you are heading in the right direction for getting some good shots Rus! Thanks for another good video, Cheers and Happy Thanksgiving to you and the family 🦃🍻🔥
Yeah, better but can get better. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃
Dusty at Pacific Arc Tig Welding has been putting out great content. One of my favorites. I like his message of doing random acts of kindness. Your new setup looks great.
Yes he has. Thanks for checking the video out
I have several Vevor tools and they are not bad. Nice demo.
Yeah me too, not bad at all and especially for the price point. Thanks!
Tus , Frank again question : how in the world do you know so much about the things in your video's ? You are smarter then the average person .......
I’ve done many things in my life Frank and I always worked multiple jobs to take care of my family over the years. I alway give everything my best effort. Retired and only sharing some of what I’ve learned along the way
Good video Rus , I have no use for a machine like this one , but if I did I would buy one cause you sell them with class LOL. You could be a t.v. host ( like mike row ) THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA......
lol, thanks Frank, I appreciate you supporting the channel just the same
Pretty nice set up Rus! Vevor has some nice quality tools at competitive prices. This should work out fine for your shop! Enjoyed the demo. Cheers 🍻
Yeah perfect for my needs Bat. Thanks for watching!
Do it yourself
Absolutely 👍
Looks like a handy little recovery machine Rus. A lot more portable than our big RobinAir machine at the shop. Nice demo / review !
It is Kent and perfect size for my needs. I used one of those big Robin air units for years at the AC shop I use to work at. Huge with a huge price tag as well
brother... as a welder who has been recently diving into aluminum... i would love to see what you are doing... but you have no arc shot that allows that. I have found a method that allows you get get a quality shot with a cell phone, and a few filters. first you get a mount for your phone that allows you to attach camera filters, the one i use allows me to have 67mm lenses. Then you stack a few ND filters. i like to use one fixed ND 1000 filter and stack a variable ND 2-400 on top of it. This way you have the bulk of your light filtering fixed but also have some adjustment based on the amperage you are welding at. One final but crucial step is to get the camera zoomed in WITHOUT the filters on, next lock the focus, put the filters on, then record. This means the focus does not change when you add the filters and start welding. It will take a bit of trial and error to figure out how to get it clear and the right adjustment of the variable filters depending on what you are welding... but it is a way to get quality arc shots without spending a buttload of money. Should be able to achieve this for less than $150 on amazon. I hope to see some content like this in the future with real arc shots because i otherwise really enjoyed the video and your way of explaining things.
Thanks for the tips on arc shots. I've been struggling in that area for sure! Would love to afford a camera designed for that purpose, but I don't see that happening. I will work on getting the filters for my iPhone. Aluminum tig is so darn bright.
@@SkillSavvyDIY no problem brother! i used to want a camera for arc shots as well... until i found this method. then i realized that you can get arc shots that are very high quality and clear without one. Of course spending thousands on a pro level camera setup might get you an extra 10% quality... but who really needs that when you can get 90% of the way there with a phone you already have and a few hundred bucks?
If you get some spare time, could you send a photo or amazon links to your set up? I would be very grateful! Here is the email: skillsavvydiy@gmail.com
Thumbs up for using trig to determine your pipe lengths😄 I'm going to replicate this setup
Yea, seriously....motivating me to brush up on all that math I self proclaimed to be so good at and put it to real world use!
Great video 💪
Thank you!
Practice makes perfect. Nice rig you have!
Yes it does, thanks, it's a PrimeWeld 225X tig machine
Don't you get a serious sunburn on your exposed forearms?
If I welded for a long period of time I would, but not making this video. If I’m doing a welding project I always wear sleeves.
Im just starting out with the tig/aluminium ,Nice demo pal👍
Thank you! I appreciate you watching!
🤙🏾
I find that a cup with a shoulder doesn't slip as much as a tapered cup, especially on your cap.
What filler material are you using? 4043 is our favorite
Used 5356 in this video
Going to have a nice sun burn on your forearm after that. I would if was doing that weld anyway.
Nah, all good. Didn’t weld long enough to get a burn
How do you purge the system
After flushing the system with an ac flush, I blow through the refrigerant lines and any part that isn’t replaced with a new part such as the evaporator on this video. That insures that all the liquid flush is completely out of the system
@ you mean air ok thank you
Even though the system is open to air while flushing, it is never a good idea to used compressed air to purge with since it holds so much moisture. I use a bottle of nitrogen, plus you can get higher pressures using nitrogen.
@@SkillSavvyDIY I see Thank you very much
Nicely done. I finally got the all New Evolution chop Saw. Have a great week Rus.
Thanks, I've been wanting an Evolution chop saw myself. Would definitely come in handy for a project I'm starting soon. Cheers!
That same "evolution" chop saw is sold under several different brand names... kinda generic
@@AZ-kr6ff so is almost every other tool you have ever touched in your life
I’m just a hobbies learning welding and I have the same PrimeWeld. Really nice instructions!
Good choice, thanks for watching!
Good video Rus ! Thank you for this one , I never learned how to weld . I do quite a bit of wood work . THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA.......
You’re welcome Frank and thank you!
Thank you sir for a very informative review. I have been looking into which TIG welder to buy for my garage workshop and your review definitely helped make up my mind. Think my wife will also appreciate the price tag compared to the other name brand TIG welders.
You're welcome and glad the video helped you make a decision!
Oh boy, Just wait till inspector Randy sees this...I'm sure he's got a few things to say! 😂 All kidding aside for as long as you been away from welding you sure made it look good! and as to you being a shop teacher...I would agree you would have been a good one!! Keep making videos ...Love the content Rus 👍🏼
😂 thanks NBL! I appreciate ya!
Well explained Rus! Another great video for this channel. Cheers and have a great week 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thank you! Cheers!
I am always welding in tight, wet areas. Nice job, rus
I’ve had my share of tight welds. Shipyard welders have to learn to mirror weld, or they ain’t gonna make it. Thanks for checking it out Scotty
Do you also have a channel where you have cooked sea food?
Yes, I have Smoky Ribs BBQ channel for over 12 years. Just started this channel back in February
Dang, that looks like 80's analog synthesizer. all them knobs. nice.
Thank you for sharing your story and well done on your video content. It will definitely help me with my decision in purchasing a primeweld machine
Glad it was helpful!
Hi i have 2017 lg refrigerator not cooling both of compartment and compressor vibrating and all the fan running. do you think if replace overload relay should fix issues?
If the compressor is vibrating it means its running and the relay is not the issue.
@@SkillSavvyDIY thank you for reply back . Do you have any suggestions to check?
There are things I would check but it requires tapping into the refrigerant lines and using ac gauges to check for refrigerant capacity and to monitor if the compressor is even pumping to name a few
@@SkillSavvyDIY I use self piercing valve and psi were 45
I wish I could be of more help but trying to solve an issue over youtube comments is really not a good way and very little help. You really need to be able to read both low and high side of system to know what's really going on with the pressures and the compressor itself. I'm assuming you were reading 45 psi on the low side while the compressor was running. I can tell you now that it is not pumping down enough to achieve sub freezing temps at the evaporator if the system is using R134A. Not sure what refrigerant your fridge has however.
Excellent work Rus. On those tight, bearish jobs, it is always a huge relief when it is done.
Thanks Brian! It was a pain for sure, but a lift would have made the job much easier for this old man haha
Great video. Clearly explained a lot about this welder. Waiting to get 240 to my garage and then I will be buying this welder and learning to TIG.
Thank you! I'm really enjoying this machine. My youngest son knocked a hole one of the pontoons on his pontoon boat, so we cut out the bad part, had some sheet aluminum cut out and rolled to make the repair. Worked out great using this machine.
Great job troubleshooting this issue and explaining the process. I wonder what the dealer would have come up with??
Thank you, I appreciate the view! I would hope the dealership would come up with the same thing, but who knows nowadays.
Nice work Teach
Thanks for checking the video out Lance!
Good video Rus you should open your own repair shop my friend . THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA. PS you probably would make a fortune ! ........
Thanks Frank! I’m supposed to be retired but I still do this kinda work on occasion for friends family and such.
Another interesting video Rus, you definitely know how to diagnose vehicles! . Definitely enjoying the content even though no mechanic skills here😂. Catch you on the next project! Cheers and have a great week!🍻🍻
Thanks for watching Bat! I appreciate it
