Please support military music, a drop in the bucket of our nation's military spending. Drones and missiles cost millions, we are a microscopic fraction of that figure. Military music's untold value is in winning hearts and minds abroad, and we maintain the finest traditions of military service.

It's been a million years since I've heard Keith play--we were stationed together at the First US Army Band at Ft. Meade, MD, back in the early '80s. (40+ years ago. Wow....LOL! Guess I'm old...) Anyway, whoever posted this, thanks so much. It's good to hear what was going on at the SOM. Hope everyone's holidays are good. Sincerely, PMH, MSgt(ret), USAF
Wow, I really love this, a Great Louis Bellson Chart!!!
These guys are so much better than the best we had in 64-65.
RIP Senior Chief. We have the watch.
Then Chief DeDominick was my trumpet instructor at the SOM in ‘94-I’m a retired Army musician. My son arrived at the SOM on Saturday as a Navy trombonist. Rob texted me that morning that if he (my son) needed anything, to give him Rob’s number. What a great player and friend and mentor. Fair winds and following seas, Senior Chief.
I was lucky enough to play in several big bands with him at the SOM Iin '05-'06. By that point he was Senior Chief. As a trumpet player I learned so much about playing lead from Rob. RIP Sr. Chief!!
Graduate of the S.O.M. and the musicians there were so down to earth and music was/is in our blood, never had a dull moment and never practiced and studied so hard. Love the memories!!!
Love the dueling saxes. Nice job
great solos on trumpet and guitar
@3:54 listen close though, who cut loose? Rob did you get relaxed just before your solo? You killed it sir!!! Also was each note the guitar played improvised or what? That is super clean. Great job everyone.
Rob kicking it in at 4:44!!!! Badass....
Coooooool! Thank you xx or your service !🎵🎵🎵
Oh I get it he's doing that opposite traditional crap to be showy
Hey it’s entertaining and there’s no denying he is a virtuoso. If I was a drummer of his caliber, I’d take joy in my chops, abilities, and practice / enjoy the freedom of total mastery!
Assuming the normal you know the usual jazz band setup the big band set up for the rhythm Section of the left and the horns are on the right he's playing traditional grip Lefty but on a right handed drum set. Holy what?
excellente orchestration !!! très bons musiciens !!! super final !
NICE chart!!!!!!!
good memories of the som
my days at the SOM NAB Little Creek were some of the best
Salute.
Simplesmente, maravilhoso!!
From the brilliant "Letter from Home CD of 1989. Best jazz since the wonderful Quincy Jones Orchestra of the sixties.
Dig at that tempo he can ride with either hand and the time and that groove is the same . Freaky did the same thing in our group tour de force.
Where are the trumpets??????
Ahh... I believe they are top row rear.
All this jazz activity in the U.S. is very rewarding. The greatest musical art form in the world must never die.
lovely piano solo :)
Rob, great sounding band great arrangement.
Great sounding band !
Clap, clap, clap, clap, is beautiful reproduction, Bravo for the group Dom
Smokin' solo Rob !
