Then Chief DeDominick was my trumpet instructor at the SOM in ‘94-I’m a retired Army musician. My son arrived at the SOM on Saturday as a Navy trombonist. Rob texted me that morning that if he (my son) needed anything, to give him Rob’s number. What a great player and friend and mentor. Fair winds and following seas, Senior Chief.
I was lucky enough to play in several big bands with him at the SOM Iin '05-'06. By that point he was Senior Chief. As a trumpet player I learned so much about playing lead from Rob. RIP Sr. Chief!!
@3:54 listen close though, who cut loose? Rob did you get relaxed just before your solo? You killed it sir!!! Also was each note the guitar played improvised or what? That is super clean. Great job everyone.
RIP Senior Chief. We have the watch.
