Just started in this hobby and was wondering why certain parts of the kit were becoming brittle and breaking - feet joints, beam sabre handles etc. Watched this and learned it was because I was using the rubbing alcohol to clean Tamiya panel Lining enamel. Thanks for the lesson! Loving learning a new hobby after over 40 years in tabletop wargaming.

Just use sanding sponges. They will conform to the surface and make this job alot easier and faster

on my first gunpla build. Working on rg ms-06s zaku II. So im almost done building. So just need to know what steps to do next and why tools i might need. So after it's built, separate, panel line, water slides then top coat correct? is there any top coats at damage water slides?

Just asking i see alot of people model panel line bleed after matte flat. How do i avoid this?

what's your opinion on the pour tip markers as opposed to these fine tip ones? I hear these don't play too well with paint and the lines don't last too long, as opposed to the pour tip, which are the same price.

The old toothbrush is also really helpful to clean up your files when you're done sanding. When you sand nubs off, you'll leave fine plastic powder on the files which can make them worse at sanding. It also helps extend the duration of your files, meaning you won't have to buy a replacement as soon.

After spraying outside, can you allow the pieces to dry inside?

Do you have to dry off the alcohol once you have the desired look you want for your panel?

Did you sand any of it or prime it with anything? Or just straight topcoat on bare plastic??

So you did the top coat with the decals applied? Can u top coat then add the water slides?

So, the bit about Tamiya panel liner is a bit of a wives' tale. If enamel wash pools inside of snapped together parts, it can't dry properly, and make the plastic very brittle (this impacts both PS and ABS plastic). Moreover, ABS plastic is much more prone to damage than PS plastic is with enamel wash. I myself panel line on bare plastic with Tamiya panel liner, but I do them on the sprues, and only on PS plastic. I've never had a problem. And, you can clean it up easily with Zippo fluid that you can buy at any gas station or smoke shop. Trust me, if you use enamel wash as panel liner smartly, the payoff is much better than markers ever could be. Just make sure you use that stuff in a well ventilated area, or wear an N95 mask or something, those fumes are toxic. Oh one more thing, you can tell what material the sprues are made of in the instruction manual, and the sprues themselves are also clearly marked with the material as well.

Oddly enough, not the first coke nail(s) I've seen from the Gunpla community. Good video, though.

Pro tip. If you have a stress mark, you can take your finger nail and pretty much rub it off
