78 gears? WTF?
Semi-trucks have unsynchronized manual transmissions that can have up to 18 gears(and possibly more). Usually, semi-truck drivers will generally learn how to shift gears without the clutch and literally pop the gear into neutral and precisely rev the engine to the correct rpm. Even with the clutch, rev-matching and double-clutching is needed :)

I love big rig racing, try to make it to as many Bandit series as I can, but Snowman called it right when Bandit asked-"Wonder what they do fun around here ? Ohh, probably sit around and watch their trucks rust while riding around in a circle".
