I got started in small engines at the early age of 6, I'm 56 now, so 50 years doing this, yikes 50 freaking years, amazing..... me, and my good friend Joe, he was 2 years older then me, every summer Joe, and I would start on a mini bike, rebuild it, and the engine, welding, honing, and we where lucky enough that Joe's uncle Bob, was a advance highly trained Harley Davidson motorcycle shop owner, so we had his vast tool items, every tool you can think of, we could use, and on the weekends we would have him, and he would sit there, drink his beers, or soda, and advise us as what to do, Joe and I did this up until I could drive, 16, so 10 summers, I went on to make money repairing mowers for myself, never opened a shop, I just did it at home, or like for the last 5 years, mobile, and since I'm a long time mower repair guy, I know what I can and can't do by myself, so I can advise the customers, of if I can do it, or have a pro shop pick it up, I too was able to pay my house off, and have fun doing it, that's the key, if you have fun doing your job, do you really work..... Thank you for sharing this with us, it means a lot.

Best 21" mower on the market. We have 4 in our business. Heard Honda quit making small engines, is that true? I know I've seen a new unit or 2 around but box stores don't carry this mower around me anymore.

I had a Honda sales place right down the street from me about 10 years ago, I had to head there to look up a blade adapter, for a Honda hrr216 now, I had looked up the part number prior to heading to the place, now in the parts catalog the same part number was in to sections of the catalog, one on page 23, and the other page 84, but the issue was, on page 23 the price was 25 dollars, on page 84, it was 150 dollars, same exact part number, but 2 different part exploded descriptions, so the girl behind the counter, had the part, but of course for 150.00 not the 25 dollar, so they did indeed have it in stock, on the shelf, so the owner knew me, but she didn't, so the owner called her over to him and he explained to her, and she got me the part, and sold it to me for 25 bucks...... Always question a price.

That dude must think he is driving a road grader, or bulldozer, instead of a lawn tractor. Many of those batteries don't make it to their 4th birthday. You were lucky to have that impact gun on that blade bolt, Tom. Unscrewing it by hand would have been a fight.

Yep, I did a 5 star deck, and the owner had put a 6 star on it, and it ruined that spindle, chewed up the deck, cause it went unbalanced, and it hit the other blade, and messed up the blade, and spindle, cost the owner a fortune.

Lol. I hate Powermores too. Speaking of Powermores, I have an old Cub Cadet push mower with a 173cc manual prime engine. I put a new OEM carb on it, and it will not pull fuel. It will only run for a second when you prime it. I had a Powermore auto choke carb laying around, and the mower ran with that carb. I put the main jet from the auto choke carb in it to eliminate that, and it made no difference. The float is level, and the needle and seat appear to be working. The carb is definitely the issue, since it ran with the auto choke carb. What could be causing a brand new carb not to pull any fuel if it isn't the main jet or needle and seat? What am I missing?

I've just recently started doing enough volume to buy in bulk. I buy RJ19LMs, RC12YCs, Briggs fuel filters, and the old and new style Briggs push mower air filters in bulk. I don't see a lot of the other stuff often enough yet.

I checked a little deeper into my Lawn Boy. It's a 10515, and is a 1995 model, from what I can find on it. I'm gonna try to open up that shroud today. Too many damn projects, lol. I have 17 mowers right now that I am trying to get ready for Spring. I've been getting too many good deals on stuff lately, and I am scrambling now trying to get them all ready. I guess it's a good problem to have. This particular mower is a labor of love thought, so I am going to take my time on this one. I probably won't start on it til I finish getting all of my quick sell mowers ready. I have all of them running. I have 4 push mowers and a blower 100% finished right now, and I should hopefully have 4 more push mowers ready by the end of the week, and I have a riding mower that is almost dune. I just have to get the carb dialed in. Staying busy, lol, and still working a full time job.
