Everyone talks about his hairline, thick neck and body, but there’s something off with his eyes… they never looked right on RDR2, on RDR1 they look bigger (wider maybe?), his eyelids seem different and that’s what makes him look so weird, I know he is supposed to look younger, but what about the epilogue? It’s 1907 so It wouldn’t be that different from his 1911 self. You could say it’s his “angry” expression on the first model, but if you played the first one, hi does different expressions, so that’s not the reason The perfect example for this would be, RDR1 Marston eyes look more like 2007 Undertaker (without eyeliner obviously) And RDR2 Marston eyes look more like Brock Lesnar’s (like bulky or something like that)

Only slightly good reason why they ctrl + c Arthur’s head is because n different hairstyles, which I feel they could’ve fixed very easily but they just didn’t. Guess I’ll just replay American venom again🥲

Guessing johns character model didn't mesh well with all the clothes they did for arthur. So jus easier to give him Arthur's body

I feel like they made him silent at times and look like Arthur to try and help hide spoilers from epilog b roll in videos. Say someone beets the game and tries to show something, if he looks like Arthur and is quiet some might believe it's still Arthur

I like Arthur better than John, but when I played the epilogue I don’t like the way the character feels like Arthur but it’s not him! I prefer to have John as he was in RDR 1 bcause he’s cool in his own way! And I want to like John as John not what we have in epilogue. Copy paste Arthur body, it’s disrespectful for Arthur and John.

Genuine question because I’m not sure how much goes into game development If they have a fully functional NPC model why couldn’t they just copy and paste that model onto the playable version?

They delayed this game an entire year. They put soul into the epilogue that they really didn’t have to. Let’s not forget all the side missions are playable and voiced if you do them as John and they acknowledge Arthur on scenes. For once I’d cut rockstar some slack on this one. Maybe the John model was buggy and would’ve delayed the game more or cost a ton more money. Say what you want but they’re more ambitious than lazy

Epilogue John on consoles is awful. Never understood why they didn't keep his NPC face. I tried to make him look like RDR 1 John with the duster coat, but it really looked off.
