Hey, haven't seen you at the track for a while! I have a Recaro Pole Position with the Recaro brackets and slider and a Planted seat mount. You should test a few brands and sizes before committing, these seats are perfect for my body type/size. I just drove 9hrs to/from WGI with no issues at all.

This is the advanced group, so we all are "experienced" For $42k there are not any stock cars that can do what the SS1LE can do...

@wadestipp1833, I've been telling guys till I'm blue in the face that C8s handle like trash. They are understeer prone and need tons of setup work to get them to complete a corner. It's not that the guy was a bad driver. It's just a $hit car without throwing camber at it.

My car was down on power, my data says that my average speed was 4mph slower than normal and my top speed was down by 7mph. My laps times were 3 secs slower than normal.

Yeah, definitely not worth beating on the drivetrain and tires on these conditions, just to go slower...

Not necessarily, my OEM lugnuts swelled a bit due to heat and low quality metal/construction, but I do about 18 track days a year. Normal people don't seem to have an issue...

That Miata is 2500lbs, has a K24 with 250WHP, race tires and an Expert driver, I was lifting on the straights just to stay behind him and try to catch him on the corners at which I failed at...

Yep that c8 was about as unsmooth as sandpaper

@@nautilaz C8 is very understeer prone. Those things can't complete a turn unless you are -3.5 to -4.0 degrees of camber up front. This was a case of a decent driver in a car that's in desperate need of setup.

@@Turbo329 possibly, but this driver was braking thru turns and still slightly jerking steering. Then again I've never driven one.

@@nautilaz That's absolutely right. He's braking because the car won't hold the line. He can't get it to turn.

The SCCA has a classing system based on the car, the modifications done to it and the tires. I ran Sport 2 (S2) which is a stock street car class on street tires (200+TW) See the rules here: timetrials.scca.com/pages/classmycar

So I’m guessing Cup 2’s aren’t allowed because they’re below 200TW. Which tires did you run?

I ran the OEM GoodYear Eagles that came with the car, you can run the Cup2s but you will be placed in a class that allows under 200TW tires.

The new cup2’s are actually above 200 now so you should be fine

Not ideal, its just something that happens when people drop a wheel in the grass/dirt...

When grip levels are good and I feel comfortable I stay flat through 12 in 4th gear, the fastest I have gone is 112mph. The trick is to place the car entirely over the curb on the inside, I try to ovoid using the exit curb.

They were OK after ~3 laps, the issue I had were my hands freezing, I had to stop in the 1st session after 4laps... Driving with windows down in 29-32F weather was rough

Grip is ridiculous, I still could not figure T1 out, the rest of the track is the same. Tires now scream on every turn and braking zone.

Hi, my car is stock (see the video description) When does your car feels loose (understeer) corner entry? mid Corner or corner exit? My car: 2022 Camaro SS 1LE 6sp Manual, 100% stock engine, stock wheels, stock GYSC3S tires, stock suspension (track alignment) Hawk DTC60 pads, front Giro rotors (stock size) and most importantly Ti Lug nuts!

Thanks for the comment, I have tried multiple ways to enter/manage that corner and my car is always faster when I take that turn 1/3 from the inside and scrub speed by "sliding" the car towards the apex, at the apex I am full throttle. The Porsche is a 991 Turbo S (AWD) so it is massively faster than my car no matter what I do...

Cool....yeah AWD will stick more in all ways. You were very fast and I can see you approaching the limits of the car to get him. Another SS guy on YT has an Apex square 11"/305 setup and loves it.

Actually the tires were greasy, it was the 11th lap of the session...

@@Mechanical_Eng_HPDE Pissed I missed last event of the year. Damaged a tire on 27th & even had to cut that day short....

Next season starts on March 22nd, we have almost 5 months to get ready!
