How to van life full time with a cat | All you need to know
Very helpful information, thank you 😸 From a Cat lover down in south Texas. I'm looking to get a tracker, that pesky SpaceX launch here, near Boca Chica Beach keep's running my cat Jig zag into hiding. Spook got her tail pinched by my girl friends car door and she ran off and never came back 😿Again thanks and enjoys your Van life as we have done many time's in our lives. ✌🤟🙏☝👌
No worries. Glad it was useful. We have been using Tractive for over a year now and it has helped us find our 2 on many occasions now. They know when we are packing up to leave and so hide if we are somewhere they really enjoy 😂
Thank you. Bought the mini on sale during cyber Monday just now getting it connected. So I'm confused. If I pay the 115 for the year service I can cancel anytime if it doesn't work? I'm sure it will work 😊 like if I pay will I get whatever back if I cancel? After the first month..yeah they have no customer service line. Gotta engage. I'm afraid I'm gonna lose phone and get locked out of the app. Another fear any advice?
Glad to hear you have got some extra safety for your kitty 😍 As far as we are aware, if you cancel, you will get back whatever if remaining of the subscription. We are still using ours so haven’t had to test the theory 😂 With the app, you can also add a friend. We both have access to track our cats, but I think you can just re download the app and sign back in if you do happen to lose your phone 👍
@vanlifetipstech thank you so much yeah also it should be easy to transfer app info to new phone right?? Worth it I guess 😁
@ChadWithAJawline yeah, it should be any hassle to redownload the app
@vanlifetipstech yeah I always fear transferring accounts to new phones it's always something with technology these days hahah always something
Dóèsn't anyone think about what would happen to your cat if someone broke into your vehicle and got out😳😳😳😳😳I love my cat more than anything or anyone...in your opinion, is it safe to do van life with a cat?
Whilst it is obviously a concern, our cats are used to going outside. They also have GPS trackers now, so if someone broke in and they got out, we have a much better chance of finding them. Van Life comes with risks as much as living in a house. Even permanent house cats escape/get lost from time to time. We can at least rest assured that our 2 girls are used to going out of our camper freely and so for them it isn't something they aren't used to ❤️ If it is something you are considering, we would definitely recommend buying these trackers, they help us keep track of our girls and have helped us track them down in numerous occasions when we want to leave 😊 ruclips.net/video/P1jTTUPyYxE/видео.htmlsi=IeSJ-_BzvW80f-yu
@vanlifetipstech thank you!!! This is a wonderful idea and makes me think van life with kitty is much safer than I thought...be so very careful of coyotes especially, and mountain lions, and of course dogs in area.. I have lost a pet under these circumstances and it will always be a scar....don't let this happen 😻
So, for a cat in a family house on the edge of city its good? Our cat is going out for few hours, max. 1 day, but few times he went out for almost a week and everyone got scared. So i got a idea of getting one of these. For me it seems like definite YES. Dad (owns the cat) is scared of that, the cat is gonna hang ona tree with it (he is a little adventurer and always going on trees). But i dont think it would be so big chance to happen. I would like to buy it as "Late Christmas gift". But you have some experience, so im asking you If its realy worth it. Thanks.
I would say most definitely. Even though this video was a collaboration with Tractive, we have been using this for over a year now and it helps us find our girls on almost a daily basis. Mostly we are just checking where they are around us. With this, you will almost definitely be able to find them within a day. Obviously as long as they aren't inside something that might stop the tracker. Concrete building etc. If you follow us on Instagram and Facebook, you will still see our girls wearing their trackers 😊 For us, it definitely helps ease our anxiety which for us is priceless after losing a cat in the past.
Also, it comes with a safety collar, so if they get caught the collar opens. We have found our cat without a collar a few times and then the collar at the bottom of a tree of bush using the app 😂
Nice and real review! but i think G-FORCE RS is unbeatable, 200lb load vs. 55lbs? Not even close!
Cheers for the feedback. The G-Force does look like a killer bike, but I wouldn't say it is a direct comparison to the Engine Pro 2. We travel the world in a tiny VW, and so the folding feature of the EP2 would be a massive perk for us considering our lack of spacenamd life style. I will be reaching out to more brands next year to hopefully offer more comparative videos 👍
Hello, so the Darien gap, is that price just to go one way??
Sadly it is. The same price to ship from Europe. Sadly, with no road, the shipping companies have all the power.
@@vanlifetipstech thank you

I'm not about to take your word on it.
What, that South America isn't dangerous? You don't just have to take our word, you can base it on the fact that we have been living here for 2 years without a single incident. That's 7 countries! In my first day in Brooklyn in the US, I saw a guy get mugged across the street at knife point. Back in the UK, I had my car broken into multiple times. Once the thief stole a complete set of branded under 9 football kit for the team I managed. But yeah, carry on thinking the only problems are in Latin America 😂
@vanlifetipstech I'm not going to take your word for it.
Who's word are you going to take then, if not someone who has been living here for 2 years? Fox news? Donald Trump? You believe them and keep away. Suits us. Don't need bigots and racists down here. Keep your self grouped together so the stupid doesn't spread 👍
@vanlifetipstech not yours
@@islandguy9380 like I said, you stay where you are. The rest of the world is better then. People like you crack me up. How you make it through life in fear of places, when you don't even realise your own country isn't safe. Our of curiosity, where are you from? Am I right in thinking the US?
really good video, with some very reassuring advice👍
Cheers buddy. A lot of the stuff we mention can be used anywhere really.
Great vid guys - definitely will be helpful when we finally get to travel by van in SA - great stuff ❤
Aww that's great to hear 😊 And a lot of what we talk about is probably transferable anywhere in the world.
Great info, not only for vanlife but anyone travelling 👏
Ahh thanks for the feedback buddy. Yes, a lot of what we cover is relevant for any kind of traveller, probably in a lot of different continents as well 😊
Is this news? People walk hundreds of miles to escape.
Wow, your comment is hilarious. What a way to tell some one you haven't actually bothered to watch it 😂 We literally spend the whole video talking about how amazing South America is and that people shouldn't put it off because people like you say it is scary and dangerous. How long have you actually spent in South America?
@@vanlifetipstech Awesome. I wonder why the locals hate it there
You have walked around and spoke to locals I take it? Funnily enough, we have met so many communities of ex pat Americans who left the US because they hate their country 😂
@@jasoncrum-dn1dn ignorance at its best 🤣 you haven’t travelled not even to the corner shop to get anything trying to cheer your sad life up 🤷🏻♂️hopefully you’ll realise at some point how nice can be life and start to appreciate it

Great honts and tips. One day....! Warm wishes from Millionaire Paul 👋
Hey buddy, it's been a while. Hope you are well. We hope more people follow us over here one day. We really don't like the UK and Europe is no longer as some or cheap travel either. So maybe others back home will see this more as a viable option one day? We see lot of van lifers from France, Germany and Switzerland, so it's time to see more UK plates over here 👍
just unlock it mate fuck the rules and regulations just enjoy and if the feds pass by just ghost pedel I am 76 years of age now so dont really give a cock any more nice video mate
Thanks mate How did you find it after months of usage? Overheating? Quality? Random stopping? Etc
It has held up incredibly well. We have been driving through South America with it at the moment and some days the temperature have reached 35°c+. It has run for hours without problems. And the quality is so good, we've started in corporating it into our travel channel vlogs. ruclips.net/video/ohmAxLkyi8I/видео.htmlsi=BFVsy6cQQLg6H2H2
Unfortunately, the way the world is going, everything needs to be recorded. Wish I’d had a dash cam when a tractor took me out & wrote off my beloved truck 🤬
Get your dash cam here - www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BL81H5JV?ref=myi_title_dp
How do you edit the bike to go top speed and what will the top speed be if I modify it and how?
It's as simple as pressing the + & - keys at the same time. Once the throttle is unlocked, you can reach speeds of around 37mph
I am buying a van for travels around the UK, and beyond maybe, with my cat companion Freya. I am quite worried that she might get lost so hearing the bell on Aimee made me add it to the list under blutooth and GPS trackers. So this video was very helpful. Beautiful cat and lovely van. Gonna have to watch more to see why you are where you are.
We’re glad your found it useful! Getting lost is always the biggest worry. I’m not sure if you’ve decided on a tracker, but we use Tractive. We have a video of it here Van life with a cat - Tractive GPS cat tracker ruclips.net/video/P1jTTUPyYxE/видео.html We’ve used it a year now and it’s really helped with peace of mind. It’s both gps and Bluetooth. Happy travels to both you and Freya 🤗
Great review guys. I wasn't 100% set kn buying it but after seeing the features and information of operating the device, I decided to order it . Cheers
Ahh wow, that's amazing to hear. We have had ours just over a year now and we are still incredibly happy with them.
However we have to admit that people like me who are now getting into van life a solar bank is a ready solution they can understand faster without having to get all the knowledge and experience e needed for the conventional system. In any case if anything breaks in a conventional system I wd not know how to fix it either and actually I may fo a mistake and burn it myself. On the other hand solar bank is a lot more straight forward and you can always have a smaller solar bank (10 to 15kg about 600 to 1800watts) as a spear or to move outside and the main one(30kg for 2500w) always in the van with the same charging. Methods as any conventional system (alternator as well). Total cost of all these from Bluetti for example with a 200w portable solar panel wd be 2500€. It's maybe a lot more expensive but also a lot less headach for those who can afgord it and have little knowledge for electrics.
Of course it’s always going to be time versus money. For us, we’ve never had the money so we had to learnt to do everything ourselves. If you did fit your own system, then naturally by then you’d understand it and if not, you could always take it to someone else. If you’re power bank breaks you’re just kind of done. I of course don’t advocate that you do it without proper research as there is a danger there. I would still argue that while it’s definitely an easier route, it’s still not the best idea for full time living. If you have the money, someone qualified could be paid to install a conventional system instead. Personally I dislike the rigidity of power banks, we constantly are tweaking our system as we go. That being said, I’d have one on board as a back up still.
Are you interested to test our ebike?
We would be interested in collaborating with you. Please send us an email and we can discuss this further.
@@vanlifetipstech Already send it
If it gets lost, you should be able to track it and find it (unless battery is dead)
Depending on where you are yes, using the Bluetooth mode. It obviously has a short range, but we have found our kitties quite a few times using the feature 😊
I bought a Bluetti, burst into flames after 4 days
Really? That.. is very bad... I hope nothing else got burnt ?!
Absolutely 👍
We are lucky enough to have both. As we Inherited an EcoFlow power bank and portable solar panel. Which we use as a back up to our more traditionally installed lithium/charger/solar system. So far it seems to work well 🤞
When we reviewed the Allpowers solar powerbank, we commented that they would be a great option to extend a system. We so see many people online looking to get into Van life and they are often asking if they can run there while system off of one and I don't think they appreciate the power consumption and recharge time they would need for that to be possible.
This is the difference between people going out for a few days and living the life. I was a 'van dweller' for about 8 years and it's nothing like being a 'van lifer'. You aren't playing at it. You are living it. Same as the term 'overlanding'. It seems to have been stolen by the yanks to mean going out camping or off roading for a week or even a weekend. That's camping. Living on the road for multiple months and dealing with issues that arise on the road with no real base to run back to for safety is what overlanding rely is. Multi culture, multi regime and alternative ways of living is what overlanding is really about. Immersing yourself in alternative cultures to understand the world better and thus ourselves. And part of the success of any trip is flexability. And part of that flexibility is knowing how your transport works and how to fix it. A solar Generator (which is neither solar or a generator. It's a sealed battery bank with inverter) isn't flexible at all. I follow your chanel because you guys are doing it for real in a world full of people playing at it. I salute you.
@@MartinHolmshaw-ky1su I couldn't agree more. I do find the term 'solar generator' quite inaccurate and annoying! There is definitely a difference between full-time and part-time and I do think people people don't appreciate that sometimes. Do it in another country too, it's another level!
These Chinese bikes are junked after a few years.
I mean for a £1000 cafe racer style ebike, I wouldn't be expecting it to last me for years. You want to buy something better built like the Super 73, then you are paying £4k instead!
left channel audio only
Thanks for the feed back. Should have only had an audio channel problem for the intro, as I was using a wireless mic.
Thanks for your video. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful! If you ever need any help, or have any questions in South America, drop us a message. We've been in South America just over 2 years now ❤️
@@vanlifetipstech Thanks. We are in Colombia and have some months in South America ahead. We will follow you on YT. Your channel seems chill and authentic.
@bakkiesafari4 enjoy Colombia, it's been one of our favourite countries we visited. Where are you now? Thanks. We try to post an authentic version of our travels 😊
😊you've got the weight wrong. I took delivery of this bike yesterday and it is in actual facy 34kg. Great bike.
Hi, Thanks for the information. In this video we quoted Engwe's gross weight. They actually provide 2 weights on their Web page. 34.5kg and 43.5g. We decided to say the maximum gross weight, as nobody wants something to weigh more 😂 Enjoy the E26. It is still probably the best bike I have ever ridden (apart from it's brother the M20!)
if it had a torque sensor it would be amazing ...
Totally agree with this. The pedal assist is nice, but it would be insane if it reacted better to your peddaling. Not sure if it is possible to add an after market sensor?
@@vanlifetipstech i asked them 😂
@z3ro7o and what did they say?
@@vanlifetipstech yeah standards things like we consider it haha himmiway d5 have torque sensor now. and is a beast, not that cheap tho
Would be nice if they added it down the line and still keep the range affordable.

Sure is 👍
dont feed poison commercial pet food. fed raw organic beef with chopped organic kal mixed in. read on line what cats diet should be,
Thats a big assumption to make. We have tried them multiple times on different food. They both refuse to eat straight up meat, beef included. It’d be better for them I know, but they don’t seem to care about that.
Looks like a great product.
It has really good cab front and cab cameras and the audio is actually great as well. Perfect for aspiring RUclipsrs 😂
Dude, the hair looks hideous....just sayin!🤪 it really does!
A very useful review. I had one of these in the US. Great camera. £300 pays for more than the camera, it buys peace of mind which you can't put a price on. 🫡🚚
That's exactly it. There are so many drivers on the road these days, not to mention crash for cash scams everywhere. It is definitely worth ensuring you are protected.
Thank you so much for this information, cause I been looking for a tracker for my two cats
Glad it was helpful! We are still using Tractive and it has made such a big difference for us. So much less anxious these days ❤️
