Dickenson county here. When the coal mines started getting hit we took it hard. Not easy finding a job out this way to raise a family on. I work two jobs myself to make sure my wife and daughter are took care of. In modern day society things are viewed differently than most of us do. We have old time values and it shows.

So many of these homes are in Sumter S.C.

These are just sharp looking dogs. But dont get one based on looks.

Apparently those fountain pieces are over 200 years old and used to be a part of a fountain that was at the center of a traffic circle in DC until the 1940s. Those pieces went missing somehow when the fountain was disassembled, and weren't located again until the 1970s. No one knows how they wound up there.

This is fantastic for me. When I got my brand new motorcycle in like 1985, I was everywhere and ran into to this park. After a bit, I remembered being there as a kid, we took the Wilson Line! The Mouse Roller Coaster is a true classic, yet as you think it would brake as you felt the entire thing lean, rail, frame and all, when you went around a turn. I had no idea when I started this comment you were on a bike as well. Now, going from memory. I got a sailboat and went past this park a few times on the Potomac a few years later. I think that building was the first ever lighthouse in the US..First Ever. It was a house with a light on the roof. So cool to see you found it the same way I did on a bike years later!
