The BEST Juicy Christmas Turkey Recipe
Hi gang, it's that time of year again - Merry Christmas to you all!
After years of taking notes for my Christmas Turkey recipe, I've finally committed to filming a how-to video and have also written the recipe down, this is available at the link below.
Once you brine a Turkey you'll never go back! It helps the meat retain moisture but also seasons it right through. Again, with the marvels of modern technology, I simply wouldn't do a Turkey cook without a digital probe - just ensures that 1 - it's safely cooked, but 2 - that it's not overdone.
Much like my Brisket recipe, I can't overstate how important it is to REST your turkey once it's hit that safe temperature.
This is by no means a diff...

How does it go with gas consumption? I want one but I also don’t want to have to be at the bottle exchange every 2 weeks either 😂

@@sashak9934 I’m sure it’s using a bit, but honestly I’m not ripping through lpg bottles. It’s so quick to make a couple of stir frys on it and you can’t compare the end result. I’ve got a pretty high end cooktop inside the house and its ‘wok’ burner isn’t even worth using anymore!

How many BTU did they claim it had? I'm teting to get an idea what 65 or 100 000 btu might look like.

@@lornes7526 According to the eBay seller it does 130mj/h which (if I’ve used the right conversion) is equivalent to to 123 000 ish BTU’s. It rips!

@@aussiedavecooks Did one a couple of years ago in the Weber. 10 hour cook using the Snake method. Line the coals up 2 or 3 high around the base and light one end and it's off like a slow fuse. Otherwise similar process to yours with wrapping and dry rub.

Where did you get the burner from?

Got it off eBay, there’s a heap of them on there from different sellers. The current version has a green sticker on the front panel. Bloody great burner for proper stir fry’s, but also for doing bulk browning of meats or heating large volumes of liquid 👍🏼

I can see how, they’re definitely built to a price point. Mines undercover which helps but you can still see the wear happening. Love the concept, just wish there was a stainless steel variant
