How to flush a Canon CLI-8 CLI-42 Cartridge
Am I filling too quickly if I get air bubbles?
What's the dry weight for the CLI-8 cartridges?
Thanks for the videos, really appreciate these :)
Hey I've got a question about Pro-100s. I've heard that CLI-8 cartridges work just fine, but you have to replace the chip. The question is, is the chip even necessary for the printer to work? I know the printer does work with no ink level detection, but what if I just used CLI-8 with chips isolated not to get any signal? The reason I'm asking is because it's obviously cheaper to use some aftermarket CLI-8 cartridges.
이젠 노란색도 그냥 세척해서 써도 됨
do i refill the ink before or after i reset the chip?
hi thank you so much for these videos and your inks! just about to buy my first kit for my canon ip8720. i was just wondering if you have any videos on how to fill the opaque black canon ink tanks? IM SO NERVOUS!!! PLEASE help <3 thank you!
Bam!
Great vid, it explained why my carts seemed to go empty even tho I hardly print anything
Regarding the Pigment ink. You are using the incorrect pigment ink for refilling. It might be labeled as Canon compatible but not true at all about drying too quickly. I have been using an unflushed PGI-tank for over 5 years with pigment ink.
I'm curious but why do you flush the cartridges when you're going to refill them anyway???
Sometimes cartridges after they are refilled numerous times will need to be flushed. The number of times you can refill before having to flush will vary depending on many factors including the way you refill. Having properly functioning cartridges is the single most important aspect to having to having long printhead life. In order to keep cartridges working properly they should be flushed as soon as you notice they are not behaving properly.....many people think it is the printhead. It is quite often the cartridge and replacing a printhead only leads quickly to another clogged printhead. Ideally even if you do not need to, you flush at least once every two years or so and that will preserve the printhead.
I cant find any info on your site about flushing. Is flushing necessary? If so, when?

Silly question as my late husband used to do this, if I am not sure if a cartridge has been reset, is it safe to put it on the resetter if there is ink in it?
BAM
After 15+ years of dealing with Canon carts, the example he used was a NEW cart, filled probably once. If it was a typical 'used' cart, the ink would of 'stained' the sponge that would be hard, if not impossible to get out !!
womp womp
I have used Canon inkjet printers for probably 15 years and have read tons of documents/info/discussion etc on the carts, but I NEVER read/heard of this light sensor determining the amount of ink left. I was under the impression that it relied on a page count. Amazing.
Thank you....very informative
Bam !!!!
Bam !!!
CL 42 carts for pro 100 resetting chip, place cart in setter, push down to the contact pins, a quick flash followed by another red light (as in video) Hold in position until the light goes off ... then it’s set. !
PLEASE SELL YOUR INK TO TO THE UK !!!
I like your videos and I like your ink.. but I am very disappointed because I can’t acquire any more of your ink, because you don’t ship to my country anymore. ? Is there anyone else that ships your ink to the UK ?
I'm getting ready to purchase a Pixima Pro 100 and researching ink cartridge refilling. Thanks for this video :) I'd like to have 2 sets of cartridges and expect the orighinal "42's" will come w/ the printer. Questions : a.) Can I purchase the CLI 8 for my second set ? b.) Does it come w/ a compatible chip ? c.) If not, how can I acquire 2 sets of cartridges w/ chips that work ? Thanks for your generous consideration, Sincerely .....................
LOL WTF use a vacuum needle like the pros do. It applies a vacuum to the other side and the ink is sucked right through the sponge, no matter what "foam" you have in there.
My 5 cents: Not every syringe works equally. I tried the 60...too large, does not enter the hole. The 10cc another popular one, to thin, does not work either. So I guess it is the 30cc asshown in the video. I will have to buy it tomorrow.
Hi, is it not needed to protect the chip from water or tint?
Do you have to remove chip while flashing cartridge? Will water damage chip?
Why can't you use the syringe to force the ink back into the sponge? Leave the vent open and close the opposite hole. Would that not work?
What if I lost the orange piece 😱. Ink is everywhere 🤦🏽♀️
watching this I would like to ask a question. The ink in the cart Is it Canon Ink? I ask because the ink level looks low compared to my own, and there is not colour left in the sponge after so few flushes of water.
Great Video! Just got my order from you and this instruction video is GREAT! Thank you Mike
Another useless video.
I thought this was a decent video showing how to swap the chips
another useless opinion
I like the British guy. He *OVER EXPLAINS* ruclips.net/video/eAVwjlPeTa8/видео.html
Do the colors have to be matched up in order for a chip reset to work? I.E. I have a chip from a photo magenta cartridge that I installed on a magenta cartridge. I reset the chip but it won't work. I am guessing that it needs to be a chip from the same color.. Is this the case?
Precision Colors, potential customer here. So to reset the chips we need to let the printer show empty cartridge but due to foam in the sponge we need to refill before it shows empty. Please clarify.
You should refill the cartridge when the first low warning (!) appears. If it is left any longer then the sponge may take on air.
Ahhh, never mind. There was a piece in the box that fits to the resetter. Problem solved
You know, I bought a refill package for my pro 100 and am looking at this resetter and MY resetter does no look like this AT ALL. The shut is very wide. It does not channel the cart down to the prongs the way this one does. Makes it awkward to be sure that the chip resets as it ought to.
Thank you for this video. Where possibly locally can I buy a large syringe like that? TIA, Dave
ok, just had a major spill, can you please make these videos step by step? You sound like an engineer who knows the fine details of all of this.. so when I look at your website its so hard to find what i should do first, second, third, etc. That's common I suppose, with technical ppl.. Tip> Imagine you are a middle schooler that just got the empty cartidges you sell. Step 1: open box. Step 2: remove cartridge. Step 3... etc etc etc
Can an original Canon cart be refilled when it hits low with the precision ink? Or does it need to be cleaned/emptied out completely before you can introduce the Precision inks? (Yellow aside.)
Not understanding the purpose of covering of the air vent hole, when filling. Whats the point?
it prevents the ink to soak all the sponge on the left side. If you let it unblocked, all the ink will either drop from the bottom, or move into the sponge until its 100% saturated.
But shouldn't you want the sponge to be resaturated a little bit? To make the bottom solid part larger?
I don't understand - at around 1:00, he covers up the air vent when putting ink in. Why? I don't see the purpose - you want the ink to flow into the spongy area, so if ink goes in, you WANT the air to come OUT. He even says "if air can't come out, ink can't go in." That makes no sense.
Graff: I think the problem is, you let too much ink in the spoonge. Your ink will DRIP badly into the printer. And not in the normal way. If you see the OEM cartridges, the sponge is NEVER completely saturated. only around 30% on the sponge side. This creates a constant drip needed by the printer. No air = print doesnt go out and print head will burn. too much ink and air = ink will overrun and drip everywhere. If you notice, In the other video, he lets the ink fill part of the sponge then blocks the air. To prevent all the ink from going all the way up the sponge.
Just did my first refill for the pro-100 with your complete kit. It went perfectly and I'm printing again - I can't see any difference in the print quality. Fantastic stuff!
How are the prints holding 3 years later?
Very good video.. When you think about it, the carts are a very clever design !!
Bam!
Great work, (as usual). Thanks.
Please make a video on how to modify the original oem cartridges for the 3880
Hi, I just ordered the Ultimate kit about a half hour ago. Can I replace the original ink cartridges as they each run out or do I have to replace all at the same time?

thank you so much! i have spent countless hours reading on forums on how to solve my printer problem.. i thought it was the printhead that was clogged.. but after watching all of your videos regarding canon cartridges and how to refill them properly now my printer is working again.. its been a month since i got a decent nozzle check result.. and now its almost perfect.. again thank you so much!
