I don't you think you understand what does Testing mean. Besides the stage will be a different one, also the characters places will be different too. Maybe different sprites as well. And when you max out your relationship with Akuma and talk to him, you get a picture of all the opponents that Akuma considers worthy: his brother Gouken, his master Goutetsu, Ryu, Oro and Gen. Funny how Bison didn't make the list. :D

When you tell Akuma that you seek strenght, Akuma responds (and I paraphrase because I can't remember the exact wording): "Hmph, even a baby seeks strenght to survive. If you have nothing beyond strenght to strive for, you are no better than an infant." I didn't expect such wise words from Akuma.
