Does the USB hub always require replacement? I have a 2017 Mazda3 GT and it has 2 USB ports and SD card below the radio. Would love not to replace the hub. Thanks for the video.

The only dangerous part of the process is the firmware update. My dealer did it for $165. Worth it. Everything else you can do yourself

Can you perform the update with an aftermarket key fob? I don’t wanna try it and have it not work for the part where you have to lock the doors. One of the door actuators doesn’t work the passenger side door

Help! I tried this out. Mazda3 2017, was at 70.00.100 and was updating to 74 with the file you provided. After about 20-30 minutes into the update, my screen went black. I waited for about another 20-30 and now nothing works. When I press the on button (without break), it now shows 0 Miles remaining (previously was full tank and 300+ miles). Car also will not start now and states no key FOB (red key with line through it). Key FOB unable to lock or unlock car (or start it) but yet the car beeps when I hit the lock or unlock button. Going to try jump the car in case the battery died. Wife has the jumper in her car so have to wait until she gets home. Any assistance appreciated if I am on the wrong page here and curious to how this will work since the update process has been halted.

I’m having similar problems to you, I read all the comments and I see you parted out your car bc of excessive blowby, thinking either m54 metal valve cover and a good catch can ported to the intake manifold , or doing the m56 valve cover like you have. What would you do if you were doing it over again ?

Sooooo. I have a 2014 Mazda 3. And it looks just like this. Same body style etc. will this grill fit on my car. Or is there some small differences?

I just installed the car play module and now trying to do system update, but my usb ports are not working anymore, is this because new ports and wires only function properly when update is applied ? Will I have to put back the original equipment then update the system, then install new equipment again? If anyone can help before I start taking all this apart again

Thank you for this! I swapped the dual USB-A module for the one with USB-C for better charging speeds. However, I am having an issue where I have to unplug and plug the cable back into the phone on more than half of my startups as it doesn't seem to trigger car play the first time, even though the phone indicates it is charging. This is on 74.00.230 (I think that's the version, not 324). Hoping maybe it is a temporary issue.

I did this into my mazda3 2018. The installation was pretty easy. The problem I have is the entertainment function is now disabled and there is no FM radio into the android box. Any idea on how to enable the entertainment function and I have access to the Mazda FM feature?

Any advice on why I’m getting an error when starting the update? It’ll go from Preparing to Update, to, Validation Failed Failed to Validate Package Certificate. The usb matched the specs needed and I’ve tried the process as described a couple times. I even tried the hash verification thing that another comment mentioned but no success

Totally worked. Took about 20-25 minutes on my 2014 Mazda 3. I was able to use a PNY 32GB USB 3.2 drive with no issue. I did not hook up a trickle charger but my battery was just checked good and I'd been driving today. Only needed to download the one CMU150 file, that's it. Directions in the PDF worked perfectly.

Hello @DittyPitty, I just downloaded the zipped file to update my 55.something CMU. Do I have to unzip the file? If yes, do I have to delete the other files (those that are not .up)? Thanks for your help

Does it freeze or anything or is it smooth with that hardware?

@8:25 if you pop open that red vent plug on the oil container, it will prevent the oil from burping back up and will let it drain quicker into the cotainer.
