A. number of people have requested a tutorial / build example for my Toon Shader Videos, this is the setup I use - hope it helps. Feel free to copy and use. Thanks to MrTriPie for originally demonstrating this process - you can find his tutorial here: ruclips.net/video/sJTEJKQ0lYw/видео.html

Blender toon shader anime video test
Can you make a tutorial for this, it's incredible!
After endless searching this is the best transparent toon shading I've seen, before seeing this i had to come up with my own. It is somewhat similar but my goal was different in that i wanted mine to dither Im going to upload a video detailing both on my other account
this is wild
Cool designs!
Thats perfect :) please tell me where I can find the full tutorial? thanks again and keep up the good work 🤗
I dig it
Looks really cool!
so good man. Your work is top notch.
amazing!!!! loved that
*promo sm*
What the hell is this supposed to be!? I get nightmares from those always watching eyes..
Great tutorial. Great contribution. You have my like. Thank you so much. Greetings
The way you do vehicles reminds me a lot of dan dare
I think there is some of that in there, one of my favourite films as a kid was Flash Gordon, I loved the retro designs of spaceships in that.
Wait a minute the sea moving is an illusion? The space ship is static doesn't propel forward?
This tutorial is simple yet amazing. The glass I was working on came out pretty good. However, I only have one question. Shall I ever make a glass that isn't fully transparent, but perhaps a bit more translucent, what changes do I need to apply to the shader? 🤔
bit late, but instead of just a transparent bsdf, try mixing a glass bsdf and a transparent bsdf and then mixing that output with the emission afterwards; will still give the same look with abit of translucency
Layer Weight doesn't seem to work well for flat glass planes but the effect overall is NICE!
Just one thing to say, thank u <3
Wonderful tutorial that also inspired me about several other possible ways of stylized shading. Thank you so much!
Great video, really helpful!
Dude really awesome tutorial you made me subscribe looking forward to see more from you.
Fantastic
Is it possible to add a texture to your shader, like friedspinach does?
@phfdeflicted Thanks for the tutorial! Really like the shader! How do I add refraction to it though?
Beautiful!
Tutorial shader please
Could you make a tutorial for these shaders?
Big cheers!
I know it's been a year or 2. but if you want colored glass, should you just use emission + color ramp like normal and then add all of the highlight nodes, or do you need to do something special?
I'm using blender 3.2 and the shader seems to break around 6:00 of the tutorial. I'm using eevee and a sun lamp. I get two different shades of color, but not a third (just darker shadow color around the sphere and a smaller circle that is a slightly lighter color than the shadows). I lose the white highlight part (lower color ramp section of the nodes). when I drag the multiply/screen color node to the group output, I can control each individually, but as soon as I use the mix rgb node and connect it to the output, the highlight disappears. Could this be a blender 3.2 issue?
ehi ehi, i fixed it, look here there is my comment
is this using the same water set up from your tutorial? I love your work man!
Yea pretty much the same setup, had to tweak it though as the whole scene is pretty much stationary so it’s the spray moving along a stationary water plane. Thanks for the kind comment!
Great, but maybe a bit too much bloom or glare imo. I think you older animations were a bit more balanced :)
This is so good! Love the shading
Just revisited this project a year later. Still one of my favorites.
Wow, that looks so awesome! ❤
Great work 👍
Thanks!
best and simple...thumbs up
Hi.!! The better Shader Toon in youtube und there are many👍
are the panel lines textures or something else?
I like it! Looks great!
Man, this is just getting better and better by each frame.
Very cool! There doesn't seem to be a shader to rgb node when using cycles though. Do you have a workaround for that at all?
Is this the same shader you used on the airplanes in your video "He's Behind Us!"? Thanks
Howd you get the outlines and 2d elements??
This is amazing, please post more tutorials
Thank u
You are a genius! The best of all the glass shader tutorials I have watched!
Absolutely beautiful! Big thanks for this! And i love the Node Group Input Control you made at the end. :D What a great feature! I only have a problem with the edges of the Color Ramp Colors being really jagged, pixelated, not smooth. Could you help me with that?
Is it where you are getting shadows? If so, check the Shadows options in the Render Properties tab - I always turn on soft shadows to blend the edges, and you could set the Cascade Size higher (above 1024px) to get a smoother transition.
I think there are a few missing things you forgot to mention ... like ticking the "Freestyle" option, adding emission to background plane and enabling bloom.
Thank you! I was wondering that! Could you maybe explain how to do it? I just can't get the values right so it looks good.

I hope you return to making some more videos. I only found your videos like ... a week ago, they are great ! Your voice is clear and you explained everything.
Hey thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I’m working on an animation at the moment, but will try to post some new videos and tutorials soon hopefully.
