Hi everyone, Version 5 is complete and will be taken to meet the great man Jeff Wayne on Monday 15th with a view to licensing it as an official product!
There are still tweaks I want to make: the tail needs developing more and I am still looking for a solution for the hatching on the eyes. Also the heat ray needs to be more impactful and I have some ideas for that. Thanks for dropping by, and please feel free to leave a comment.

Version 4 of my bespoke SMART lamp Martian Fighting Machine from Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds. This one was commissioned by Ash in Yorkshire via my Etsy shop, and is en route to him today. Beginning life as a mere cable drum, this creation has been on my wish list for a long time. Free wood from the cable drum (and other bits of my many wood odds and ends), a glorious bulb, some deep red braided fabric and some hand wound aluminium wire springs. **UPDATE** Thanks to those who have commented about the big eyes… it’s something that has bugged me too, smallest smart bulbs I can find. But I am completing my third version and hope to have the video up at the weekend, showing the revised eye problem. Something I should have highlighted on the original post is that this is a SMART LAMP. It is built from scratch using upcycled parts, the main body is an old military water bottle. No 3D printing, no CAD design, just built from scratch, made up as I went along. Thanks for dropping by!

Hi Olly Yes, they are! I have noted before that the bulbs are the smallest round smart bulbs I can get, but it’s annoyed me that they are so big… just finishing my third build which has the issue corrected 😀 it should be up here at the weekend with any luck 🍀
