Beware of the bandicoot carrying paralysis ticks if you have pets! We had two dogs pick up ticks from one that lived next door. We spent thousands of dollars and saved one of our dogs but it was too late for the other one. Bandicoots can carry thousands of paralysis ticks because they've built up an immunity to them.
@@louiseb4929 oh wow, thanks for that, wasn't aware that was an issue with them. I know there are alot of fleas in the ground and soil but haven't discovered any ticks as yet, i have no doubt they are about. Working hard to get the grass and gardens under control before snake season starts.
Are you doing under floor heating for your tiled area
@@shaned5570 no.
Out side dunny
Your obviously a tradie/ Jack of all trades with the door frames and doors installation it can be a lot of measuring, trimming, etc. You’re doing a great job. Love the glass door. The ensuite bathroom is nice. Love the floor tiles and the black trimmings. I like a toilet that’s one piece to the floor. Easier to clean too
@@charmees6637 just a jack of all trades, master of none 😅.. i grew up building and renovating houses with my parents and have done a renovation in the past but nothing on this scale. Doing this sort of work is pretty foreign to my actual trade qualifications as a motor mechanic. RUclips tutorials and research how to do things and rolling up your sleeves and having a go is all it takes.
Great doors they’ll look amazing with the new knobs on. Tiles in laundry, porch, etc will be easy to mop out and keep clean
The path leads to the old hills hoist old mate
@@markcecchi3072 the path near the water tank maybe, but the first one that was most burried is way out the back past the old sheds, no where near the old wash house. Someone else said an old outhouse toilet which is more likely.
To the Hills hoist
Love the doors. I have kept the varnished skirting boards in my house also, along with the polished wood floors, which ties them altogether.
The River flows quite fast you’d have to be careful walking around those stones
Love the lead light front door you bought.
Wow! You’ve been busy. Lots going on. Well done
Yikes! Lots of demo going on. You’ve been a busy bee. Love your plans for the house there’s a lot happening. Well done
Oh Boy! there’s heaps of junk left for you to clear out. I can see the potential of this property though. Love the views
@@charmees6637 yes it was a huge task to clean up! Check out the monthly update videos of how far it has come so far! Still alot to do but 5 months in i am now living here!
It’s really starting to come together now..if you’re going to get a front loader machine then maybe consider putting in a plynth for it to sit on…makes it so much easier to load and unload…and definitely tile first…IMO…🇦🇺
What a transformation, love the changes you made to the layout. I watched your latest video and liked it enough to start from when you bought the place. Looking forward to seeing your next video, it's amazing what you've done already.👍
She's coming along nicely, I am budget old shool and I love the white dimple tiles for the laundry walls maybe the toilet walls too maybe? Path to the old chook shed down the back.
Wow you've done so much, the house coming together really well!!
Oh the joy of sanding plaster.😂 And thrill of the cleanup not. 😅 Tile first cabinet's on top . Don't go to dark on the floor tiles, dark shows every mark and spec of dusk, you'll drive yourself mad trying to keep it looking spotless . Never again !😊
@@ellbow7287 already have the floor tile. I think they won't show too much as they have quite alot of "character" to them with white, and rusty coloured veins but are predominately a dark slate colour, they are a matt finish. I made the mistake of a plain dark tile in a property i had years ago and it was a real pain to keep clean.
House is coming along nicely , I reckon the path went to a hills hoist ? Definitely tile first put vanity etc on top . 👍 Excellent content .
To the clothesline
@@Therenovatedcottage it is not really near the house or the old wash house so not sure! Somebody else said maybe to an old outhouse which is possibly more likely.
not to far to go big brother ! its come so far already !
LOve your work Well done man !!!
Great progress with all the doors ! Love all the footpaths that you have discovered! cannot wait to see what you do with all the collection of rocks ! aee the weather has been awful in tasmania hopefully it improves ! Tile first and also put a drain hole in in case of a flood ! love the colour scheme !
Great watching the progress. I wonder if that path went to a clothesline? You'd have to lay tiles first wouldn't you in case you ever replaced the cabinet you'd need the tiles down under it. Lots to do. Enjoy!
Great work, reno is coming along well. Seal and tile the wet area floors first, it will pay off in the long run.
U should put a slim like cupboard in the laundry. The doors look amazing. I think that path in the backyard may have been an outdoor toilet perhaps? The renovation is looking really good. Can’t wait for the finish results and the view that will be something you’ll never get sick of.
Great job on doors. Progress on house is going well. Nice area of Tassie to be in.
I add to all the other comments lol but just wanted to say that if you have a darker floor and white herringbone pattern tiles i think a grout the same colour as the floor tiles would tie it all in. Break up the blinding white and show the detail in the herringbone pattern. If you really wanted to be totally innovative use white grout on the floor tiles. I would totally do it lol. When it comes time for window frames the best way in my opinion is to make the window sill wide enough for a plant pot. When we built our place I was talked over by the architect, builder and my husband and ended up with window edging sloping in towards the window so the ledges are way too narrow to be useable. Last time I listened to popular opinion!
You will have to check back to see what i end up doing! I like your ideas though!
Great progress even thought the weather has been abysmal. The doors will be beautiful after sanding and refinishing. ❤
Good to see the progress. I love the wooden doors, they look great! I was thinking that maybe the first concrete path went to a washing line or a shed? It looks like you are having fun discovering all of these hidden paths. Have a great month and Ihope the weather improves for you.
Hard to say about the path...old clothes line old long-drop or even an old water tank stand , looks like previous owners had garden beds everywhere.
weather being terrible is a bit of an understatement for the last few weeks! love old paths like that.
Ah, those green valley views make me think about moving to Tassie! Love the channel and your renovation. Well done!
@@theglowskingirl it is a pretty special place! Only draw back to Tassie is the long cold winters.
Good job, the doors even sound great, better than our crap hollow ones :) I'm happy you survived the storms, power was off for 7 days here, no shortage of fire wood with all the trees down, all part of living the dream in Tassie eh ? :)
Those doors all look awesome- especially the grain on the master bedroom one ✨
Great little channel. You're so lucky to have family help.
@@QuietLivingOz majority is just me now, just had some help in the initial few months of doing structural and demo work and doing the plastering. The ensuite bathroom fitout was 100% done by me start to finish.
Wow starting to really take shape now looks great!!
Maybe the first path lead to a clothes line originally
@@lindathomas3142 possibility!
Path to outdoor Dunny? or clothes line? I love Tasmania at this time of year. Only been twice but love it. Friends live in the northeast. Hoping to go back soon.
G'day mate. Looks bloody good. Its good to have had Mum on the shovel but not much dirt got tilled. It sounds like it will be very nice when its all finished. Well done mate.
Coming on well, keep sharing your project with us
Hi Taddy, great to see your house coming along so nicely!! Loved seeing the bandicoot! Amazing to discover concrete paths! The one that just ended may have led to an outside dunny. Yes! The doors look good!
Looking great so far. Hope you didn't get any damage from the horrendous winds we had the last couple of weeks.
@@LorraineDennison1960 faired ok thankfully! Being on the eastern side of a hill blocked alot of the bad westerly winds.
Yeah definitely put the floor tiles down first underneath any future cabinetry in the laundry and even put a floor drain in because at some point a washing machine will leak, either from the inlet or drainage hoses. Looking good, would've been nice to have a quick tour of the house again in full just to see how everything is looking.
@@kimberleyharrison7414 will do a walkthrough full update next episode with a few before and afters of the progress at the 6 month mark.
I agree 100%. Or you have to get a new washing machine. It's like carpet. You put all your furniture on top of it, not carpet around stuff. Looks good. Next vid can you show rest of house too. 😮
@@MGE9436 have a look at some of the earlier vids, they have full walkthrough tours of the whole property.
@taddy83 😄 I've been watching since day 1. I'm just curious to see if anything has changed inside since then 😊
It's coming along nicely and the doors are well done. Great scenery.
Beautiful countryside and I absolutely love the doors great progress it’s looking great
Would that path go to the clothes line
@@marypodschelne134 unsure, it isn't really close to the house at all, it may have gone to an old shed originally.
