Ram 3500 6" Kelderman Lift Review!!
Hey Guys and welcome back to the Garage. In today's video I get to review the 2019+ RAM 3500 4X4 Pickup 5-6″ Front & Rear Air Suspension Lift Kit I had installed on the Rammer by DC Customs up in Ukiah. I chose the Kelderman 6" lift kit and paired it with Toyo's Open Country AT3w tires sized 37"x12.5R22 mounted on DDCs Aftermath 22"x6" wheels. As always, throw any questions in the comments below or DM me on Instagram @harrisons.garage.

Switch Pro SP-9100 Install on my 2023 Ram 3500

Hey Guys today I get started on the first of many upgrades to the new 2023 Ram Dually. Since the truck came from the factory with the max tow package, there were no auxiliary switches. Obviously that needed fixing and so added the SP-9100 solid state switching device. This supports 8 different accessories (4 up to 20 amps and 4 up to 35amps) and all switches can be programmed to allow for vario...

A Pillar Gauge Mount Long Term Review
Biodegradable landscape fabric is designed to break down naturally over time, so it’s not meant for use on concrete
That is great looking truck. I have 2023 3500 DRW Limited 8ft long bed Night Edition. I am not going to pull 5th wheel but do carry some payloads time to time.. I do need 8 ft long for carrying two pallets.. Most small forklift can handle up to 2700 lbs of weight and you can't put them evenly on every pallet.. I wish my cabin was bit bigger with 7 or 10 speed, but all others are perfect.
@@wj2791 thank you! I wouldn’t frequently need an 8 ft bed and really loved the megacab on my 2500 so I went with it again on this truck.
No re-gearing needed I assume?
Nope! Going from 33s factory to the 35s was a pretty minimal increase. If the electric motor had power it isn't noticeable. When the battery is dead, then its somewhat noticeable but not necessary to regear.
saw you at target lol, cool truck
Great video is it possible to get a copy of your wiring diagram. I am getting ready to order my parts and attempt to complete this install. I would like to set these switches up to run lights, I changed out my front bumper (thanks to a deer) and added an aftermarket with lights you see any concerns for these switches running those. Thank you
@@DavidMarkland-q8i hi hit me up on Instagram @harrisons.garage and I’ll get an image sent to you
So I’m not sure when they switched but I just got a set of smoked recon cab lights for my 24 F250 and took the first lens off to seal like this. Looks like they are using black rtv now as a seal. I’m going to reseal it the same but I’m not sure if it’s necessary now. They must have made a change from using CA glue to black RTV
@@BKrieg8 oh interesting new to me for sure. I switched to the boost auto cab lights for my new truck and am very pleased with them. No reseal needed and they have the added functionality of switch back turn signals
Yeah, I took one apart and resealed it with clear RTV silicone adhesive like you did, but I’m tempted to not touch the other 4 since I had to basically remove the black rubber gasket material that formed from the black RTV they used.
@@BKrieg8 if they’re using rtv now I would leave it as is. You can always resell it later if it fails.
Agreed. That’s my game plan. Thanks for the reply man. I just checked and boost doesn’t have them available for 2024 F250 yet. Just the solar powered ones I see. Anyhow great video content here and I appreciate your input.
Any ideas as to why I know have a stuck U0415 code?
@@CMFKeiley I believe that is an ABS code. After you changed the tire size, did you connect to the ABS module and run all of the programs listed in the ABS initialization Program list?
Yes sir, I did. I might try again after I turn it to Cali and back Saturday. Since I have no ABS light or Engine light on I wonder if it’s a soft residual code.
@@CMFKeiley if the lights aren’t on anymore I think you’re good. Your can try clearing the codes with Alfa and then checking to see if they’re still there.
I'm going to be buying the Retrax Aluminum Pro MX for my new truck.
I didn’t pay attention to what the tire size was set to from the factory? Am I SOL? Measuring my tire and inputting that into the taser I’m still 2-3 mph over.
Just checked back through my video at 4:53 I state the factory tire size. My wrangler which came with 33” tires was set to 32.67” from factory.
The screen protector. Not removable.
Thank you for this video, i really appreciated the step by step with Alpha OBD.
I just wanted to thank you for this video. I also have 37 inch wild peaks. I used your measurements and it worked perfectly. Thank you for such a great video!!!!

@@ThatGuy-ds9zi thank you for watching and glad it helped!
The harness you tapped into for power and ground...does that harness turn on the cab lights with the headlight switch?
@@ToddThornton-p9v yes it does. If the headlights are set to auto, the cab lights automatically turn on when the headlights turn on.
@@HarrisonsGarage Thank you!
Thanks for this. Did the drivers side signal bulbs without removing grill. Takes long skinny fingers and some dexterity, but did it before the video was through. Your video convinced me to try rather than do alll the removing.
@@miketurecek1883 glad you were able to get it done without taking all those parts off!
That’s pretty cool
I have this cover got it in 2020 the first year it was great no problems the second year I was starting to notice that the right side was not closing as tight as the side with the latch I called customer service they said there was an adjustment but I couldn’t figure out what they were talking about. Going on my 4 th year I am sorry I spent the money on it because it leaks and the side that doesn’t close good and now it is starting to get jammed up while trying to open it they say not to oil it so what do you do.. I think a folding cover would last much longer and is cheaper I know they last longer my last truck had a folder
@@Pat98300 I noticed a similar issue that you did with the closing but it wasn’t as extreme. Perhaps your rails could be adjusted to become closer together towards the tailgate end of the truck. Thinking the rails may have come out of alignment over time. I switched to a BAKFlip mx4 on my newest truck and regret it. The quality on the bakflip is not what it used to be. Made be grateful for the Retrax.
I had checked the adjustment and it seems to be ok but I will look at it again it’s nice because you can lock it up but since it started leaking I hate putting anything in it if I know bad weather is coming
I will never understand why Ram did that to these trucks it looks so bad
@@davidcook3746 I agree. The 2023 and up model years come without the vinyl. Seems they wised up.
Cab light fuse? What number
@@oahu_mopar that will depend on the year make and model of your truck. I recommend checking the fuse guide in your fuse box and look for the fuse marked marker light or cab light.
Just found your channel & wish I had of found it sooner! Currently got a 2020 Ram 2500 & I am starting to look at getting into a newer truck & your truck got me thinking Dually 🤤 keep up the awesome content man!
@@OneBadSixSeven Thank you! Wait till you see it with the lift on it. Hope you have that video up in the next month.
Good review
Why not just get an SPOD or something equivalent? Less time and energy with more functionality.
@@PrestonGladd certainly true. However my objective with this was to make it as factory looking as possible. I really wanted to keep the factory switch bank rather than have a switch pro or similar. If I did it again I’d go with a switchpro for the added functionality. I did this on my new truck and am glad I did. The install was much faster.
Will wiring be the same for my 2019 1500 DT fifth gen
@@rockman7333 I believe it would though I don’t have any experience working on the half tons so I can’t say for sure. Since it is a 5th it likely will be.
@@HarrisonsGarage do u have an email or something I could send a picture of my wires that I have to see what u think are the corresponding wires for the 2500?
My lower connection clip is a smaller grey clip, with no green white wire, and no wire in pin 1. A black wire in pin 8, black wire in pin 7. And orange in pin 6. And a pink and yellow wire in pin 5
@@rockman7333 yeah you can send me a message on Instagram @harrisons.garage.
@@rockman7333 since the harnesses are different I’d recommend disconnecting the connector and using a volt/multimeter to check for current from each wire. You’re looking for a wire that gets current when you turn your headlights on.
What lights did you use in the mirrors?
@@justinholliday7785 Boost auto parts switchback tow mirror lights.
After taping into the wires where should the on and off switch be or is that a separate part you have to install
@@danielkrahn2520 there is no separate on/off switch to control the cab lights separately. By tapping into the wire, the cab lights automatically turn on anytime your headlights turn on. If you turn your headlights on manually using the factory controls, your cab lights will also turn on.
Ally least his closes; smh This product is a total piece of garbage
@@jenniferwilliams6358 I’ve noticed a trend in declining quality with covers in general. I just put a backflip mx4 on my new truck and it is similarly a total piece of junk. The backflip oil had 11 years ago before real truck bought the brand was excellent.

@@michaelablett368 thanks! I plan on keeping this one for 10+years at the moment. As I type this, I’ve got it in the shop getting a Kelderman air ride set up
Regarding the wobble that's pretty much how they all are. They require the weight of the car on all 4 corners for stability. But I do like them bolted down too!
@@ToddMcF2002 this was terrible with the how wobbly it was. Given I’m in earthquake country I wasn’t taking any chances.
@@HarrisonsGarage I'm getting the 407-P for the form factor. I'll probably bolt mine down. My last lift was a bit bigger than this unit. I made the mistake of standing on the lift and using it to work on the ceiling and it was super sketchy wobbling around!
@@ToddMcF2002 I’m really glad I bolted it down the way I did. It worked out great. I got the 407-P for the exact same reason (it’s super narrow).

Can this module change fuel tank size? Looking to change the stock fuel to a titan fuel tank of 50 gal
@@johnkraft5640 this is a modification I would like to do to my truck as well but haven’t yet gotten to it. From the reading I have done, alfaOBD can be used to adjust capacity BUT your DTE numbers will likely not report linearly because the factory fuel level sensor is not going to recognize the expanded capacity of the tank in the x or y direction. You can tell it the tank is larger and it will report a higher DTE but will likely not reduce this number until you begin to drop below 40 gallons. As you empty your tank further, the DTE will become more and more accurate.
Nice truck congrats

Hey Harrison, the 2021 dodge ram the white one That you worked on, well my parents are the ones that bought it, right now we are road tripping in a camper and we just went up a hill and the antifreeze is spilling out of the truck. I don’t know nothing about trucks to my shame I sorry to Bother you but I was wondering if you could help.
Dm me on Instagram @harrisons.garage.
I didn’t see any messages on Instagram and wanted to get some kind of response to you. We can talk in more detail on my Instagram chat. I would start by making sure that coolant is not overfilled when the engine is off and cool. It sounds like the engine got hot and the coolant got hot and backflowed out of the tank/radiator. When you were towing up the hill, did the engine look like it was overheating or were temps normal?
My mother drove it down the rode with water in the coolant tank (it was the best we could do) she had to stop after every mile to keep it from over heating, and she made it to a shop. Apparently a bolt had been rubbing a coolant house and put a hole in it causing almost all the coolant to fall out. Also I don't have instagram so that's why I didn't message you through there. The temp got up to 233 we were worried something really bad had happened and I panicked and thought of contacting you because all the shops nearby were closed and you are the best guy I knew to ask what to do. thank you for trying to help I apologize for the inconvenience, also we love the work you do it really is an amazing truck, I thank it will be fine now.
@@BeKindToFellowBrothers oh man I’m sorry that all happened. I’m glad you at least had water to top it off with. Out of curiosity was it a factory bolt that broke the hose? If so, I will look on my new Ram to see if that bolt is still there or if they have fixed the issue.
@@HarrisonsGarage I don't know about the bolt I wasn't there all I know is that the hose was to short and instead of going under the bolt the it was right next to it. So I would look out for hoses that are right next to bolts or any sharp metals and that are to tight, also your new ram is sick. 😁👍
I have a Rubicon gladiator cane with 33 wild peaks my factiry tires were set at 32.75.
How did you run the cables out. I started routing the first cable (as numbered) into column A, but it is too short to reach the column top due to piston position.
I had a similar issue since when you first hang the platform on the columns it will likely not be in the same position as the hydraulic cylinder wants the platform to be. I remedied this by getting under the platform and leg pressing the plate attached to the piston and moving it manually to sufficiently extend the cables.
Thank you for sharing this info. I am saving for a Rubicon 4Xe and I want 35s.
Having owned the 4xe I personally wouldn’t buy it again (gremlins and recalls haven’t been worth it for me). That said it’s a lot of fun otherwise. Glad you found it useful!
Beautiful Truck thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@HarrisonsGarage I did only haters will not enjoy it.
Followed this exact procedure, tpms light still on. Dash says fill tire to 0 psi, as i set it to the lowest. Tried resetting rf hub, alfa asking for 5 digit pin. Alfa will not pull pin.
First question: what year/make/model is your vehicle. I was surprised that I didn’t need a pin when I did this for my truck. Though I was able to secure one from my dealer easily enough.
@@HarrisonsGarage Canadian 2019 Powerwagon. I was able to remove TPMS completely with Car Config section, but I'd still really like to see the PSI. I tried everything from 10 to 30 psi, none would relieve the light, and red tire pressure signs. Followed some of your other steps, including speedo - all worked perfect.
@@tanktheram Hm without knowing exactly what was done it’s hard for me to weigh in. I suggest reaching out to Alfa obd. I found them extremely helpful when I ran into an issue with resetting my speedometer.
@@HarrisonsGarage Following your method, the dash would say "inflate to x psi" - whatever psi I set, but the light would still be on, numbers still in red, even though my pressure was far above the number which I just set. However disabling TPMS through car configuration worked.
I would pay you to update my truck... I just added 35's.
Greatly appreciate your faith in my ability to do the job but right now I only work on friends/family vehicles. I’m not covered liability wise to do more than that. I’ll gladly help with any questions you may have in the process though.
@@HarrisonsGarage My truck is a 2023 Ram Power Wagon with the new digital instrument cluster. My question is, will the AlfaOBD work with this, or do I need to go with a different tuner? I do appreciate any info. Thank you.
@@danaberman6929 Hm I suggest reaching out to Alfa obd. I found them extremely helpful when I ran into an issue with resetting my speedometer. I also plan on using Alfa to do this on my new 23 dually and plan on contacting them in a couple months to ask the same question once my truck is lifted

what do you do about the air bag when you install the pod? isnt it unsafe if you crash and it goes off on the pillar all the gauges going into the drivers face or something
I did think about that. I’ve since utilized the banks a pillar mount which puts the gauges a bit lower. It wasn’t available when I first did huge install. I reasoned that the apillar bag deploys to cover the side window and therefore blows down rather than out. However I’m not sure how true that logic is and am mode comfortable now using my banks apillar mount.
@@HarrisonsGarage Okay was just wonder cause I have one I got from ortiz custom pods and it crossed my mind about the air bag lol incase there was an accident or something what would happen if the pillar bag went off. But you are right the pods sit lower and the bags above so dont think it would interfere with the gauges upon deployment. Thanks
@@m4xripper that’s my thought and hope at least. I definitely wouldn’t consider myself an authority on the airbag. In the end it was a calculated risk I chose to take.
Thanks for the walk through on the install. Quick question, what is your ceiling height?
9ft 2 inches. Glad the video helped!
Why did you choose Firestone over Airlift?
I didn’t think about this question too much. I chose Firestone because the bags and cradle were sold together by CJC off road and I knew based on my conversations with them that they would work flawlessly with my lift (also purchased from CJC).
wait? Don’t you need some pin or something? I thought this didn’t work on 2019+… if this works now I’m pumped. My 2021 ram 2500 has had tpms lights on forever for running 50psi
I thought so as well. I even went to the dealer to obtain one. When i did the procedure I was never actually requested to enter a pin and it worked without it.
@@HarrisonsGarage hmm.. wonder if they changed something. That’s good.
Great video answered a lot of my questions. Thoughts on truck in general?
The trucks been awesome. Biggest issues I’ve had with it were the factory recalls. When towing the coil sprung rear and is a bit squirrelly through corners but not terrible. If you’re in the market, plan to tow a lot, and are better a 2500 and 3500 SRW, I’d go with the 3500.
