PS: The problem with the label 'atheist' is not the lack of belief (which is all it is), but the stigma that has been built up about it ever since the Christians stopped.. being... atheists. Yes. Christians were called atheist by the Greek. Part of the whole persecution motif they seem to like.

In a nutshell: you are perfect (I'm old fan, literellay, so there) :-) Michael is probably the happiest man in this quadrant of the galaxy. Having said that, in another universe, we'd be sitting across this very, very rustic table, with lots and lots of fruit and vegetables and red wine, right here in South America, comparing jokes, laughing out loud. Live long and prosper, Julia (yes, you have gone where few men have gone before).

These have been the best two hours I have spent watching a RUclips video. So funny, eloquent, thoughtful and profoundly captivating.

Tho I couldn't express it as well as she did, I've very much taken the same journey that Julia has. Since taking that journey, I have continued to expand my knowledge and have come to the conclusion that I wasn't sure about God. I still don't buy into the Bible but maybe there is a Creator. For a while I was an Agnostic but that didn't feel right, either. So, I continued to search for the right answer and found what feels right to me: Deism. Many of the world's great thinker were Deist: Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, Thomas Payne Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, Mark Twain, Albert Einstein and Neil Armstrong to name but a few. I did my due diligence and came to the conclusion that there is a Creator (or Creators) who got things going then let nature take its course and then went on with whatever the Creator(s) do, never looking back. How else can the evil that exists in our world be explained. Wouldn't an omnipotent, loving a God want to protect want to protect his children from harm, just as we humans do? Free will, you say? Nonsense! Would a loving parent bring a child into the world and provide no guidance: Okay kid, do whatever you want, you have free will? I sure wouldn't, and I have two sons to prove it. Now, before some evangelical Christian or other religious zealot decides to take me to the "woodshed", don't bother I'm not asking anyone to adopt my views and demand the same respect in return.

Brilliant! ...Jesus gets even darker in the Ancient Greek Bible! The original Christian cult baptism of death and rebirth will blow your mind! The administering of drugs was a major component and the reason participants had visions and heard voices. Adolescent eunuchs played a role in the "chemistry" of those drugs along with snake venoms and plant pharmacology of the Ancient world. It's a hard pill for a lot of people to swallow, though according to the Ancient Greek Bible, Jesus was crucified by the Romans for being a human trafficker alongside other traffickers, not thieves.

Amazing, heartfelt! Although I was an Evangelical/Pentecostal Christian in the UK, I can totally empathise! Most of the beliefs about the bible were pretty much the same as the Catholic beliefs. The main differences are the way the church/leaders appear, and the use of latin/saints. My church was different, churches would be in sports halls or school halls, the music was guitar/drums/piano and people would dance and lift their hands, but essentially we belied in what the bible said. Last year (sept) I eventually realised after 30 years of indoctrination and determined belief, I questioned healing at first. why doesn't god heal amputees? then why doesn't god heal deformity, or foetal brain damage, learning disabilities etc. Why is it that God only seemed to heal ailments that are unseen, like aches, pain, strains, or people that aren't even there etc? Then I noticed prayers for generally healthy people, and went "we ask for quick healing"... And they would heal...naturally, over a completely normal time that humans heal. Prayer for elderly or people likely to die soon would go "we ask for peace or rest"....and indeed they would rest(die). In either case the prayer always included "if it is gods will" which is a disclaimer, if god does or does not do anything, it's god's choice, which takes away any human effort and any human faith, as it makes no difference! That was the start of my deconstruction. Then I asked myself what other evidence do I have, or have I EVER seen of god/Jesus? The only evidence I could think I've ever seen was emotions, excitement, guilt, confidence absolutely nothing physical, nothing that preachers and the bible claimed. I then looked into who wrote the bible, when it was written, and the other very similar beliefs at the time the bible was written. The whole religion and any belief in any god fell apart after then. I'm 51, I spent 30 years believing along with that I believed God was always watching me judging me, and that "Revelation" was likely to happen in my lifetime. I made stupid decisions based on belief, including jobs, relationships and years of my freetime. yes, it's stupid, as many ex-Christians (of all flavours) will tell you, when everyone, including your friends, your family, and work colleagues believe, you tend to go along with it. I am now a 100%Atheist/agnostic, as my wife would attest after a year of unbelief, my life and the way I interact with people and the world hasn't changed I'm not interested in "sinning". I feel much more free, much more respect my life, and more Respect for my time left on earth! Thankyou for sharing, you are funny, and very clever!👍 Prayer

I listened to God Said Ha, In the Family Way, and Letting Go, over and over, on repeat, for years. Every once in a while I'd look to see when the next one came out, and it didn't seem to happen. The world has felt distinctly Julie Sweeneyless and that has been indubitably a lesser world I realise the she's been here the whole time, but I couldn't find her, apart from a bit part in Brooklyn 99, which was just a delight. I've missed you Julia. So great to see you again ❤️

I tried watching this today with friends but we all agreed it was too much bible. As an atheist I don’t need any of that bs in my life. I gave up g*d when I was 12. As much as I absolutely love Julia, I just couldn’t commit to watching this entire show. Sorry Julia. I loved Older and Wider though and God Said Ha!
