The Incredible Story of Austin Forkner!
January mine comes in 🙌🏻
@@anthonypescatore9047 sick, enjoy it!
Fred Vialle had some of his best races riding #16 and #161 Him and Tom have a lot more in common than Tom and Marvin.
Good insight, I didn't know that
This was great! Ive often wondered how the numbers work, im still a bit confused but i get the jist of it.
Glad to help, feel free to ask any questions about anything you're still confused about.
At saddleback Mostly 125 having DG parts on the gate you felt like they sponsored you just because you had there pipe. Even there stickers looked fast
You have a new follower of your content. Casually found your videos and watched a couple of them. Good stuff. Keep it up. Also, hope Chance comes back strong. Very talented rider that charges hard and keeps things interesting.
@@bartonstink glad to have you along, I'll always do my best to bring you guys something different and entertaining while still keeping up with current news as well.
Always wondered! Cool!
@@peggyannwalker7971 glad we were able to clarify it for you!
Do you think Chance should rush back or take his time and make sure he is as healthy as possible?
It is still an absolute joke that regional 250 SX riders earn overall points for their numbers. Yeah, they race less races, but the evidence in how wrong it is is the numbers that the 250 guys earn compared to the 450 guys. Excluding career numbers, 15 of the riders in 1-50 are on 250's while only 6 are on 450's... It is much more difficult to score points in the 450 class versus the 250 class. It should be reflected in their earned numbers. It makes sense that there should be more 250 guys with triple-digit numbers...
I would agree with that actually
hold on, how come up Vialle got the career number and guys like Hymas, Brown, Swall were appointed with a number ? They finished top 10 last season, didn't they ?
@@romandragalev2366 it's top 10 combined sx/mx 250/450
Did you not watch the video ?
Much love and respect AF❤
Thanks mate, I won't have to google number changes this year.
@@Wrathlan 🫡
Still crazy Jeremy Martian got #6
@@CandyRunKids he won 2 championships
Career number
250 MX you're allowed to get a single didget number because it's a national Championship... That's how AP got #7, someone who has only 1 450 career win.
@tankeater yeah exactly. Same thing with Baggett and #4
@@motofevermedia1 💯%... Like you said in the beginning, most people don't understand how the number system works in AMA. 🤘
One thing you didn't mention is that you have to win a NATIONAL championship to be able to get a 1 digit number. 250 Supercross championships are considered regional and therefore, title winners are not eligible for a 1 digit number. Only 450 champions and 250 Motocross champions can get a 1 digit number. Hence why Tom Vialle and RJ Hampshire can't get one.
@@Melomoto-v2u fair point, I appreciate you pointing that out
So how did Arron Plesinger get the number 7?
2018 outdoor championship. @@Bryan-jd7os
@@Bryan-jd7os He won a 250 Motocross championship

#10 to Hymas?? I thought Brayton was holding it for Mcadoo?
@@YandRTimes Brayton lost the ability to hold it since he hasn't been racing
Did I miss Forkner?
7:55 he's number 83 😉
Ricky Johnson come back after gatorback mishap broke wrist #13 not a stellar year came back to soon unfortunately. Orlando round broke a chain over triple no crash 13 😢
Nobody ever is #8, i wonder why
@@CR250rSMITH I've always wondered the same thing honestly
Grant Langston won a title with 8. Long time ago.
@@kanutecarson1 grant with blonde hair i remember, damon bradshaw was 8 in the early 90's but nobody seems to use it much
I think you forgot pierce brown
Nope, 5:35 he's number 20 this year. Going to be weird seeing him on a Yamaha haha
@@motofevermedia1wicked thx
@@motofevermedia1Brown gonna be one to watch for sure.
@Bryan-jd7os I think he might be a sleeper for a title threat or at least some sx wins
@motofevermedia1 couldnt agree more! I picked him to win Las Vegas! 😀
Not digging the 83 for forkner
Going to be weird for sure
@@TrueNorth13 I wouldn’t stress about it, likely only see 83 at a couple races if history repeats itself…
@@motofevermedia1 wasn't jett 83 in his rookie season
No that was 2020 he earned that number from racing motocross in 2019, he debuted with the number 496
@@motofevermedia1 yer hence why I said rookie season he done three just after his 16 th bday in 19 his rookie season was 20 wasn't it
If he stays off the ground he will be a champion
@@stringbender247 would be an awesome comeback story
Deegan shouldve taken #8 smh
@@stephenadams5223 yeah I was wondering if he would before he took 38, I can't believe 8 has been open for as long as it has. There are so many people who could've taken 8. I'm sure it will happen soon. 5 is also open and 9 will be open again soon.
his family has a brand focused on the #38, if he chooses a different number, i would think it would be the #3 if he wants to and if it’s available
@doglover136_ yeah that's fair I guess
@doglover136_ it would be nice to see someone take 8 though.
@ i don’t think anyone will, same for #13 for superstitious reasons
I’m most excited to see if anyone can beat Jett. Next would be how Forkner will do. Please Austin just stay on the bike.
@@gregwolfe4950 I feel like supercross should be interesting. Just need some of these guys to get off the start good. If Jett is always up front off the start, it's going to be a long year for everyone else. As far as motocross goes, hard to imagine anyone beats him if he's healthy. Could still be interesting though with Prado, Sexton and Tomac.
I’m a Jett fan so would love to see him win again BUT as a super cross fan I’d love to see others get into the mix and make it interesting
@antechinuz exactly, I have my preferred riders as well but more than anything I just want to see a good race
Who are you most excited to see race in 2025?
@@motofevermedia1 max anstie if the dude can get out the start he be dangerous .hopefully with the star bike it well help
@BenPiggin could end up being a championship contender if he can stay consistent
@@motofevermedia1 yes mate i hope he does ,he's one of the most down to earth riders in the paddock.
As a young kid in New Zealand i bought a new fire engine red Honda CR125 in 1977....us kids drooled over the US magazines like MXA and Dirt Bike... i had a Marty Smith setup gear wise...anyway i sent over to DG for a downpipe and radial head and waited....and waited...guess it got lost in transit lol. 1981 the Suzuki Fullfloaters came out and that was it Great times to be riding!
Wow that's crazy. Bummer you never got your stuff. Definitely a different time though.
I ran DG pipe and heads on my Yamaha R5's & RD 400's. I worked in the parts department at Yamaha Pomona so i would get a nice discount, that and the mechanic that ran that shop really liked DG products. Miss those day.
That's awesome
He was interesting mostly for the wrong reasons. And, ya really don't hear much about him anymore other than from those who were either fans or his bigger critics. When you watch the actual racing, it's rare you'll hear him mentioned, except if they're already talking to Villopoto and someone brings up his run-ins or Alessi's with Villo. This vid did show me how short his run at racing success was, though.
Yeah short and wild
Huge fuckip on prados part
When I lived in Anaheim Hills in 1973 to 1980 as a 15 years old DG was everything to my buddies and I ,from stickers in the front office with Bob Hannah's helmet on the file cabinet lighting bolts included to the guys in the back of the shop next to the Santa Ana river where they would test their bikes ,great times. I remember Kevin driving the yellow and blue DG Team truck to Canyon High school .👍
Still have their first motocross jersey with pin hole ventilation and elbow pads in great shape.🎉
That's awesome. Anaheim hills was the center of it all back then.
You should continue the history of DG Performance. If by chance you’re not aware, the company saw renewed popularity and success with the highly popular ATV industry in the 80’s!
@@mikecoe4003 I know they did have a lot of success in the atv industry but I wasn't sure exactly what that was like.
16:45 Awesome memory to have😀
Just remember Forkner battling with Webb at Southwick ! Webb growup fast winning many titles and Forkner ?? just some race win, still in 250. come on !
He needs to stay healthy. Hopefully he can still salvage some success these next few years
I think him getting off Kawi will be the best thing he has done. New team will be good for him… he will be lot better on the new bike
The fact Forkner still doesn't have a career number is crazy to me... He just can't stay off the dirt or stay healthy to complete a full Lights Season.
Team Forkner dude let's hope he gets the rhythm and get some wins
I want to see Austin rock that new bike😊
I always get scared when I watch Austin race he’s super fast but he crashes all the time
Jalek swoll will be the only healthy triumph rider by week 4 hahaha
Hopefully not haha
Mitch has already confirmed drew adams will be doin sx futures and turning pro for motocross
Kind of what I was expecting
Yes. For years
I believe Hannah was a Welder for DG pipes...got seen..asked a pestered Gary for Ride..which, Helped build the brand..
I had a 1980 CR80 with a DG banana swing arm. Amongst other products.
I did a series of videos on youtube titled mylife109 which are stories from racing late 70s early 80s. I use DG products myself. One of the video's I show some old gear and decals. Still have some DG decals from back then. I Rember having what was called a gold anodized porky pine head that I believe came from DG. I will have to review some of the videos and see if I can spot that head on one of my bikes. Use to have a number of DG pipes hanging in the garage for years wish I would have kept them.
Deegan said he said he’s going east coast
Drew Adams is not racing SX.
No way Pierce and Deegan are on the same coast!
In 79, I had a Yamaha RD 400F Daytona special. I had DG gold radial heads, gold anodized aluminum swingarm, and expansion chambers. The one bike I wished I had never sold....
The talent is quite deep in the 250’s that’s for sure.
Yeah should be fun to watch
Them taking knee fuild reminds me of my tibia break they got 2.5 vials out of my knee waiting for surgery 😐 ptsd for sure 🙃 I still cringe thinking about that week 😅
@xclife211 yeah that sounds horrible
deegs is going east
I pray that Seth learns how to ride before going back racing because him CRASHING everyone, SUCKS!
@@flcowboydc I think he will be alright this year
