1000 or less is too much. Efficient coating are never so smooth.the reference in water is the shark skin type.same for torpedoes. The issue is you need to combine low friction for speef and avoid micro cavitation for efficency.thats clear that lower the friction is, easier is the cavitation to appear I used 380 paper with x cross application Try it to see.

Hi, don't confuse cavitation (only happens at 40-50 Knt) and ventilation. Ventilation is what you are solving by finishing the foil
Sorry but wrong .cavitation can appear at low speed .several studies in water tunnel show it.for T wing generally at the jonction mast wing.not spectacular as high speed cavitation but inducing quite à lit of drag. A small defect at tis jonction could initiate it.

@@danielnovakov6615 Due to the thinner tubes and the stiffer fabric, the wing is faster in the upper wind range. Otherwise, I prefer riding with the handles rather than the new boom.
What speed do you think you could reach if you had a mast D/lab 90 and a 500 carve D/lab?🫨

Wow! Amazing runs!!! Congratulations, I love speed and I'm loving wingfoiling. I come from windsurfing and by best runs in slalom boards are within the 30 knots barrier. This what you are doing with a wingfoil is amazing. Hands up! What stabilizer are you matching with the 850? The mast is carbon construction? What about the fuselage size? Best regards!
@@pablolacasa4042 Thanks for your comment. I also come from windsurfing. On our lake, there are obviously no waves, so you have to choose between race and freestyle 😄. I have the 180 rear wing, the mast is carbon, and the fuselage is 66 cm aluminum. I should change up my setup sometime. I’m thinking about a 500 carve and a thinner Duotone D/LAB mast.
@windfilms9114 Thanks for the info! Do you think there are big differences in terms of speed with the Carve 900? Also, surprised about the sort fuselaje, I thought for speed you need something longer to have more stability on the pitch axis. Thanks again!

the removed the valve at the end as well. great as I always found it useless. The only real-use was to secure the GoPro, but you don't need a valve for that.
