Thank you so much for watching! I promise that the production quality will improve (but for now, I'm focusing on, y'know, creating videos, period).
As a quick aside, I want to say that this topic was quite challenging to talk about, because I tried to give concrete examples of my anxiety, such as being anxious about sending an email (lol) or riding a train. But in reality, most of my anxiety is intangible and nonspecific. I have felt at least a low level of anxiety everyday of my entire life, and that intangibility, that permanence, is another reason why planning/...

first day of spring 2020 semester ☕ editing exercise #2
Просмотров 3314 года назад
hello! I just finished my first week of classes in the spring 2020 semester. I filmed some stuff on my first day back for another ~editing exercise~ this video came together faster than the last one, which is great, but there's still a lot that I'm unhappy with and will try to improve on next time! mostly, this was just fun to make between study breaks ^^ in the future, I want to: learn how to ...

I don't know how to edit things! but I made this video and suddenly I KNOW MORE THAN I DID BEFORE?! it's bonkers. also, I know I misspelled minuscule and that pains me to watch, but I can't change it now and I'd appreciate it if we'd all move on with our lives... thanks v much. also also, this *was* filmed on an iPhone 7, so... leave me be. paschlol
recently found your channel and i get so hard what you're talking about here. the anxiety & depression & affect on my creativity ... it's such a hard road. i have been able to find a way of planning that works for me without messing all that up, and i certainly hope you do too. anyway, thank you for the lovely videos and especially for your honesty and candor in talking about something that affects a whole lot of us. ❤
Bravo!!!! One of the best I’ve watched ever. Like you I use planning as a way to nibble around the edges without ever taking a bite. And, like you I’ve surrendered goals this year. Which can make me feel really directionless sometimes. But, the same me that would labor over goal breakdown is the same me that knows what I should do next. You really managed to verbalize what I’ve struggled to do. ❤
I like your style!! Want more views? Check Promo sm!!!
I didn't notice the little secret picture in the pocket and now I'm kicking myself! I related more to O'Malley than anyone in that movie, but still...
So many swearing 😅 28:16 it's so cool that your university sells Erin Corden notebooks! It'll be nice if schools sells well known notebooks in terms of paper quality but ah well, not really price friendly for students (':
The Marie vertical pouch is adorable 💖🥰💖🥰💖 and too cute to even use it 😅
Whoah, you are super hard on yourself for impulse buys! I know it feels like you messed up, but you probably also learned something from that purchase. Whether it's to not impulsively buy things or that a certain size and style just wasn't working for you. Most of the time we don't know until we try, but I never see it as a waste of time. Hopefully you can reuse them for something else, but if not you can still recycle them or donate them. Sometimes I go overboard and I'll realize I don't need so many notebooks and I'll either resell them or gift them to people. My unused stationary would not fit in one box! lol
Love hearing your wardrobe goal 💕 being in our 20s is the time we experiment and see what makes us comfortable. Rooting for you!!
When I’m struggling, I honestly cannot remember what I’m supposed to be doing without a planner. I understand where you’re coming from though.
I like your style. *In bulk

I have to applaud you probably one of the best videos I've seen in planning it was beautifully put as far as how planning honestly can be done. I love how you were real...I feel the same... sometimes when I plan I feel so disappointed because I'm not taking daily or skipping days or not creative..or such... you really put it out there..I agreed with you in everything...si refreshing to hear I'm not the only one..I love stationary too I just don't want it to be a burden
This video was incredibly insightful and thought provoking. I related so much to what you mentioned. ❤❤❤
i’ve never felt so seen with one video. esp when you mentioned executive dysfunction. this made me realize why i struggle with planners and planning even tho i love it. thank you 🤍
As another commenter said, I also really think the Hobo Weeks will work well for you. I also have anxiety and find that over-planning my day just does not help me get more done. With the Weeks, I can put planned appointments on the left page, and unassigned tasks on the right page - to be completed whenever feels right for me. 2023 will be my 8th year in a row with a Weeks. The 'planner peace' is such a relief. It is one less decision to overthink about 😉. Good luck to you!
Thank you so much for sharing Pasch. This really was a heartfelt and wonderful video. I really hope your new system will work, but whatever happens, you're strong enough to find a way
awe, thanks <3
thank you so much for sharing this. ♡
I really appreciate your thoughts in this video. I could definitely relate to a handful of things you had mentioned - escaping my actual tasks by planning, then hating myself because I am not doing anything I am supposed to do, it's such a mess. I also find it sad how this "hobby" is always linked to my to do lists. These past few months, I was able to find interest on other things so I got to take a break from planning for a while. Now I am slowly easing my way back into it and I'm really glad with my fresh approach towards it. I'm also using a Hobo Weeks and could confidently say that you would love it. It is a very forgiving planner and just really lets you use it for its purpose. I wish you all the best in your endeavors and i just wanted to say that you are very articulate and have a nice voice ^_^ I'm looking forward to more of your videos!!
oh my gosh, ty so much for your lovely comment ^^
Thank you so much for sharing this video, I suffer from anxiety and depression and it’s not always easy for me to set up goals like other people… so I’m continuously trying to find the best way to make planning and journaling really useful for me. For example, regarding goals I prefer to write what I have done more than what I should do… because I know what I should do and if I don’t manage to do it I get depressed, but if I write each time I’m taking a step towards my goal I feel accomplished :’)
I've done that before! I called it an achievement log, and I think bujo folks call it a "Tada! list" (as opposed to a to-do list). I'm thinking of bringing it back in a modified form next year~~
@@miasterling Thank you, I didn’t know it had a name!! Haha I actually like Tada! List, sounds fun and cheerful!!
oh wow thank you for sharing this! i’ve just watched a minute of it since i’m going to work now, but i’ll watch it when i get home since i struggle with depression, GAD, social phobia & adhd inattentive form
and I’ve used the bujo method for 7 years now & i seemed have to miss the tada! list (?! 😅) but i’ll definitely look it up more!
Very insightful video. I wish more of stationery/planning YT was this self reflective. Good luck with your new methods 🤗
edit: ok, so i left a comment of an in-joke but then i finished the video, and now I have thoughts. I think that the second section was wonderfully thought provoking. I related a lot to what you said, especially the cycle of being anxious, setting a goal that I will not achieve, then hating myself and feeling like a failure for not living up to the impossible standards of my anxiety's distorted version of reality. furthermore, you put all of these dark, difficult feelings in such thoughtful language without feeling clinical that I will probably spend the next couple hours reflecting on my own mental health. Thank you
Loved this ❤
Can you show how you made the pictures in your tin can?
Loved this video. Cute and creative planners. New sub. Much ❤
I love your setups for everything! And you're so organized, I need to get to your level 🤣
The kinbor and stalogy fits in the cousin covers. You could sell the planners on eBay, mercurial, postmark or fb groups.
Saul Leiter cover…yes, it’s set in NY.
Love your kitty!
I had an urge to create an I Love Paris journal and it was so fun. I own a very large handmade journal with old vintage images from an art book. Its covered in vintage coffee dyed fabric. One thing about journals is they can really cheer you up very quickly.
I seem to recall a video talking about your goal not to buy stationary in 2022 ;) Great video, though, Sour Pasch Kid 💜
Countdown to your birthday----->>>🎈🎂Happy birthday!🎂🎈
It's funny that you were looking forward to your trip to England with your AM&S Hobonichi. When I went to England, I also ---just had to--- bring my Filofax Temperley! LOL Anyway, new subscriber here, and enjoying your videos.
We have the same taste in covers! I have the first two in A6. I adore the flower one. It is gorgeous! I also wanted exactly the third A5 cover. That exact cover and that exact cover on cover, but I talked myself out of it. I ended up getting the one where it's yellow and has butterflies on it. :) I agree with you that they are like pieces of art. I love looking at them.
I definitely considered that butterfly cover! The colors were so atypical and unexpected.
@@miasterling I have a feeling it's going to be gorgeous in person! I can't wait to get it!
I am a disc-bound A5 Planner loyalist, so I blame RUclipsrs like you (and maybe too much wine after dinner) for purchasing Hobonichi products this year! In my defense, I mostly purchased blank notebooks (in both A5 and A6 sizes) and one Weeks (because it came in pink, LOL.) I have large handwriting and "Old Lady Eyesight," so A5 is best for me, but the Weeks was just so darn cute, I couldn't resist! It is hard NOT to purchase multiple covers--I like to change mine out by season. I kind of don't want to become a fan because it annoys me that they sell out so quickly when they launch. Ugh.
Hahaha in your defense, you can't go wrong with the plain notebooks! Launch day can be stressful, but I appreciate Hobonichi's transparency about restocks. If something is coming back, they'll tell you when to expect it, so it's easier to plan purchases. ^^
Definitely second the fact that Hobonichi items are incredibly artistic as much as they are planner related. It makes them incredibly special and delightful. I don't like to buy many prints or art pieces because I don't have a good place to display them but buying a cover with art I like means that I get to see it everytime I open my planner and it is also something that is functional. I just brought a bunch of pencil boards this year, and they cheer me up every time I go to my daily pages!
love your voice always!
Poggers
I have no interest in any of your stationary but you're so relaxed and calm that it's nice to see you explain the products. It seems like a nice hobby 👍
hehehe thanks. in my experience, stationery vids make for excellent background chatter! ^^
@@miasterling hah yeah I agree that's how I use them
No worries! We old folk absolutely Can't see your writing. Your deepest thoughts are safe with the blind folk. But I adored this video, system and of course the star of the show aka monty
That's so clever, I didn't know Zink photos fit in an Altoids tin. I need to do that!
so i am new to bujo and i plan to have three journals this year...my main buju, a "to do list/brain dump" bujo to get my ideas organized before i put in my main jujo, and then a journal exclusively to test out templates and layouts, penmenship, art, etc....i hope i am able to keep after them this year. I am using all A5s.
Great video! It’s funny because I use my old Altoids tin for the same thing. 😅
New sub here. Thank you for sharing 🌸
I love the way you use your Commonplace! That is inspiring. 💙
