While it would’ve been very interesting to see a Power Rangers-style version of Sailor Moon, simply outlicensing the original was a bolder move since anime in the States was an obscure thing back then. If they didn’t do that, then we wouldn’t have companies like 4Kids, Cloverway, Funimation, or Viz Media.
