@ the mini or the slim to carry in my bag for appointments, but I might settle for a packet of the stickers or sticky notes with the same illustrations. I’m trying to minimise the number of planners/notebooks I purchase and focus on using what I have at the moment. After seeing your flip through I did wonder if maybe I should have skipped the Hobonichi weeks this year and bought the same dog one as you or the A6 instead of the weeks. The weeks is my main workhorse. I’ve used it five years in a row. It’s still great but I can feel myself getting bored or something. I’m not sure what the feeling is, just unsatisfied perhaps? 🤔 I’ve bought one now, but it’s not delivered yet. So I guess I’ll see how I feel when it arrives.

Oh, you did find the stickers and sticky notes 😍 I didn't but that was probably good 😅 I think it also depends on what kind of pens you like to use and how your new Weeks deals with those... I have now decided just to avoid all Tomoe River paper products - Sanzen or not - because I just prefer other papers over it. I'm feeling the FOMO but I need to stay true to myself although I would then miss out on some planners... Luckily there are a lot of options out there - and I do like to try new planners and search for something that truly feels like me - and not let the hype dictate my decisions. Not to say that you can't love the Weeks. I just am very easily influenced by what others like or love and then I assume I should love it too... So for my 2025 lineup I went to search for things on the web and bought things that I was interested in. Taking no influence from anyone else. And I'm so excited about my finds 🥰 And that I finally gave in and bought the dog Midori 😅 I'm not trying to influence you to do anything else than to look for the answers inside you. I think that's the best place to look 😌 P.S. Okay I bought something out of FOMO and regret it, so that was a good reminder to stick to my own truth.

@@Katiplans that’s great advice! I am trying to let the FOMO come and go. I know The Weeks will still do a great job, even if I’m not as excited about it as I used to be. I’m the opposite regarding tomoe river paper…I love it! I’m happy to use the MD paper as well, but I prefer TR paper. I am a little concerned that the Sanzen will not be to my preferences, but I will survive. 😅

Oh, that’s so lovely. Your mom has a very nice setup then 👍🏼 I didn’t realize it was B6 slim, because I think they just call it slim, but now that you said it, of course. But now I need to try to forget about that so I don’t get any ideas to buy more 😅 They are just too cute and I love the MD paper so I just would like to buy all sizes 😂 Since you have history of buying the same planner every year - do you recall do the pictures change every year?

I was planning to use the monthlies to track my RUclips videos - I remembered that idea while editing the video 😅 Because I used the mini diaries for that and I don’t have one for next year. I think I prefer dated because then I can do it whenever. With undated I have the problem if I fall of the wagon, I kinda can’t continue because I want to do it chronologically, but catching up can feel so overwhelming that I stop doing it althogether. So let’s hope this dated system works now better for me. With photos I can see that the space could end up being a problem. There probably isn’t one perfect solution 😅 We just need to find what works best for what we want to do and accomplish now. And with dated - I don’t mind empty days or weeks. I assume that is also one reason why some don’t like dated because of the pressure to fill it totally.

@ Yes good points! I am so used to photo memory keeping for 10+ years now, so perhaps that is why I don’t need pressure of dates but rather more flexibility to add an entry when I want. But for many other things I like dated to keep me accountable!

I'm wondering if the January to March designs for 2026 are a teaser for new designs for those months. That would make sense in my mind. You probably could find flips and pictures from previous years to find out, but I also like to be surprised so that's why I don't always make such good background research before buying.

I have been wanting this dog pattern for years already and now was the time to get it. So maybe it was a good thing that they discontinued the clover pattern. I don’t know why I talked myself out of this just because I haven’t had a pet dog ever. I haven’t had any other animals either and that hasn’t stopped me from getting for example pig or bunny items either. It’s so weird how the mind sometimes works 😅

The size is perfect and I do enjoy the paper also - don't know what paper it is, but I do like it. It just works 👍🏼 Remember it doesn't have to be perfect - the most important thing is that it works and you enjoy using it. Sometimes it just takes a few trial and errors to figure it out. Nice 👍🏼 I haven't even thought about that problem now because I don't have it 😅 But I think I also prefer it on the spine - or at least it doesn't bother me there at all and I don't either mind the look of it there. I think if you would really use your TN in travel and wouldn't write on even surfaces, then it probably wouldn't disturb you either on the back cover but trying to write neatly at a table you will notice it.

You are right and I think I need to again do some decluttering in my stationery collection. It just requires a certain level of alertness to be able to make decisions about letting go. Sometimes the opinion of others disturbs my ability to make decisions. But why would I hold on to something that others like, if I don't like it. There's nothing wrong with me in that case. It's just about differing preferences. I know it's annoying to have to order everything online and the risk for disappointments is greater then. I just evaluate if I'm willing to take the risk with that item and price. I will do the spending regrets video, but probably expand it to multiple years - maybe from 2020 to 2024 so the time I have been on RUclips. I can already think of multiple items I would need to show on that video 😬

You don't need to feel bad about that - I think we all influence each other by sharing things, but we all also in the end make our own buying decisions. And it was just little over 5 euros so no big deal. I spend way more on VDS 30mm gold rings to learn that I don't like gold rings or 30mm rings 😅 I did see the VDS personal wide sale and thought about it but it's not a size I have ever used or ever thought about using. Of course it is tempting, but I rather save the money for something I really like and know I would use. And you said there is no color that tempts you 😏 But if you like personal size, the wide is not so far from that, but I already have a personal/standard VDS without a use, so buying the wide doesn't seem so wise... But of course a sale is always tempting 😅 About the price of VDS... if you buy a ready made it's really not so bad. You get one VDS with the price of two Moterms... As an example the pocket size. Two Moterms would be about 200 euros and one VDS is only about 150 euros. So it is really not that bad. Especially if Moterm quality is going down and you spend the 100 euros on something that's unusable after a few months so that isn't at all money well spend in my opinion. (Talking to myself here 😖) I would assume you could afford a VDS - but maybe not ten of them 😅 For me it's quality over quantity, but of course everyone is on their own journey and maybe you enjoy the variety. And the TM leather is far from for example Moterm veg tan, so that is also something that's a matter of taste and preference.

@@Katiplans Yes I realize it’s always a personal decision and of course the discovery and experimentation phase always has some hits and misses. Regarding vds it is a curiosity because need is a strong word 😅 I could use scrap pieces and paper and survive, it’s still all under this hobby life but you are right regarding the pricing - it’s not too different and ultimately it’s about choosing something we really really want!

There is also the BST group for VDS on Facebook 😉 Most of the sellers seem to be in the US, but there are also sometimes European sellers. Do you have an Italian BST group for stationery? That could be a good place to start selling, if you choose to do that someday. Then it's not such a hassle with shipping when it's domestic. Not saying you need to sell something - just an idea if you want to refine your collection some day. And if you don't have such a group, maybe you could start it 🙂

@@Katiplans good idea but there might not be enough people in Italy… I don’t know of any groups but Europe perhaps 😅

In Italy you have over ten times more population than in Finland and we have at least two groups like that! So I definitely believe there is a change to make it happen. You must have stationery lovers also in that country! I don't believe you are the only one out there. You just need to find the people.

Haha, have you heard that there are also other web stores then Amazon 😉 I usually just google things to find them and in this case I remember looking for the EAN/ISBN from the manufacturer and then searching with that where it is available. Luckily we don’t have Amazon so we are not so accustomed to it solving all our problems 😅 Just teasing you a bit ❤️ Because otherwise you don’t seem to have any problems finding rare old planner covers online 😂

@@Katiplans Yes you are right - sometimes it’s better to do just a general web search but it’s because we are have prime - you can literally buy one thing and not pay shipping (technically you already paid membership) but it is true that Amazon is not always the best option!

Maybe I now remember that B7 is like passport size, so I can keep my eyes open for that. Of course it's always a good idea to check the measurements before buying so you get what you think you are getting 😅

Yep, how does the paper oh notebook fit in the passport cover by the way?

Well, those covers aren't either standard sizes, but I tested with my Traveler's Company cover and there's like 5mm on the top and bottom and about 2mm on the side - so it's a pretty snug fit. I wouldn't put anything else in the cover with that notebook. The notebook is 88 x 125mm and pretty close to 10mm in thickness. Hope this helps 😊

I chose a Traveler's Company pen loop with my work setup, because the Bic multipen fits better in that. No time to hassle at work. And I don't like to stretch out elastics if not necessary. So the Paperblanks pen loop is still waiting for it's use case. But I did washi the TRC pen loop onto the book cover, so I think I probably would also had put some washi on the magnetic pen loop. Again - no time to hassle at work - things just need to work and stay in place. But the magnetic is better if you don't want to damage the book. The TRC pen loop makes marks/dents. I'm glad to hear you enjoy the paper-oh notebooks 😊 Otherwise I would have felt bad 😅 I think I saw that B7 in your haul video and was like why didn't I realize that - but now I got that size too and love it! It's like a collectable 😅 I have now A7, B7, A6, B6.5 which is like B6 slim - and I just can't stop 😂

@@Katiplans The second hand planner I found is A5 size from the Aussie brand (created by a Swede) called Kikki K. I did have plans to make a video about stationery I’ve collected over the past few months, but life is just getting on top of me! The plotter style planner I’m in love with is A6, but they seem to be available in a lot of different sizes. I don’t think I’m likely to buy it, but it’s fun to dream!

Oh, nice! I do know Kikki K 👍🏼 Have you used A6 rings before? I always suggest to first try the paper size before ordering and expensive planner (says she eyeing her A6 VDS 😂). I wanted to fit an A6 notebook - the rings are just the fun extra 🤣 But in all seriousness - I learned that A6 would be too big for me as a daily planner. But that's just my opinion. Not here to ruin your dream. Dreams are important! Just asking questions to test if you are dreaming about the right thing 😘 It would have been fun to see your new stationery, but I do understand - it's hard to make videos when you have a life 😅 Struggling here too with life now...

So unnecessary wants have been reduced to the minimum which I'm very happy about. Of course it has also been easier to keep to the budget because I hate failing publicly. So the external accountability has been very welcome to keep me on track.

Meticulous is not in my vocabulary so I had to check what it means and I don't think I need to memorize that word - that's my blind spot 😅 I myself think I'm so relaxed and easy-going 😄

Well, I don't think that any of the colors that VDS offers now is a must have - but there is one that I might get. They are retiring the tabac, so I'm hoping they would add something fun to the lineup 🤞🏻

What you still will find out is that if you like the new Sanzen paper (because the 2024 Weeks was still the old paper). But I'm not sure, if the notebook you bought has Sanzen or the old Tomoe River. But you are soon to find out. (Why I wonder about it is because they said last year, that they will use the old stock of paper for accessories as long as they have it.) Se on kiva, kun pääsee ostamaan äidillekin kalenterin, niin saa shoppailla vähän enemmän hyvään tarkoitukseen. Oma äiti on tykästynyt Paperblanksiin paperin paksuuden ja kauniiden kansien johdosta. Mutta hän käyttääkin kyseistä kalenteria päiväkirjana. Toivottavasti äitisi pitää Take-A-Notesta. Itse vähän kiinnostuin nyt Kinborista... voisi ainakin olla mielenkiintoista testata itselle uutta paperia. Siihen kalenteriin ei ainakaan budjetti kaatuisi. Olen nyt ottanut etäisyyttä enkä katso lainkaan Hobonichi-videoita, joten en enää heittäydy siihen tunnemaailmaan. Eiköhän tilanne kohta rauhoitu, kun kaikki ovat saaneet tilauksensa. Sain myös omaan elämään uusia haasteita uuden työn merkeissä, joten sekin auttaa pitämään ajatukset muissa asioissa. Ja kyllä Hobonichin tekemiset mua silti vielä kiinnostaa, ja varmasti haluan nähdä tulevatkin kokoelmat, mutta olisi varmaan hyvä luoda joku selviytymisstrategia ensi syksyä varten 😅 Kiitos tuestasi, arvostan sitä 🙏🏻
