This reminds me somewhat of Dr. Heiser's work, in a high-level flyover viewpoint, in regards to what happened at Babel, and in the significance of Christ's first advent.

I remember one of my friends invited me to see "The Domino Revival" which was essentially a sequel to this movie, I had no idea about deliverance ministries or the demon slayers. However I knew something was off about them.

I know a man who is a God-fearing, loving Christian, who has what he calls a "prayer language", that only happens occasionally when he's in prayer along with God. He also experienced a miraculous intervention while on a missions trip where he was stung by many bees, and they were out in the bush and he had left his epi pin back at the compound. He was mentally prepared to die in the next ten minutes or so, thinking that he at least was dying serving God on a missions field. They started back to the compound anyway, and the expected allergic reaction never came. God can still work miracles like these in those who are HUMBLY living in submission to His will. They are not very common, because, I would guess, there are not many who live humbly in submission to the will of God. Our own will and our own desires get in the way. Anyway, I'm not willing to tell this man that his experiences were false, or not from God. That is arrogance on my part, thinking I know better than God what He has done and how He has worked in someone's life.

I totally understand this point of view, I myself do believe in speaking in this kind of tongues or praying in the Spirit. I do absolutely agree that there is no validity to the idea that someone who speaks in tongues is superior in anyway, we all fall short of the glory of God. There are also those who believe it is “the initial evidence of the baptism of the spirit” I don’t believe that either. I think it is evidence, but not mandatory for this baptism. What I do truly believe though is that this is the topic the enemy has used and worked overtime on to divide the church, imagine if instead of trying to call each other out (from both sides) we just said “yall pray how the spirit moves you to pray and I’ll do the same, as long as we pray together” Paul and more importantly Jesus wanted us to be unified. Thats more important than the babbling or not conversation.

To further add to this, the idea of the speaking gibberish "tongues" in the charismatic church is literally an overindulgence in feelings. When pentecostals try to "speak in tongues" the way they see it, they are puffing themselves up and trying to get tingly feelings or feeling their inner parts are on fire or something and that's what leads them to just jibber jabber - *it's a complete loss of self control and absence of reason* - and they confuse this with the presence of God. As Justin Peters once said, the absent mind is an enemy of God and the best friend of a false teacher.

The stuff I saw in Malawi, Africa as a child of missionaries was enough to scare me….to this day. I want nothing to do with evil. I want nothing to do with any of this and it’s so laid on my heart to share this stuff bc I was soooo abused in the church. I pray more people come to realize God’s wonderful Grace and mercy and judgement.

“For no language is without meaning.” Well…these sounds and letters don’t form any meanings, so it isn’t even a language or tongue. Also, here is the test of gibberish tongues….take this recording of this man and play it to individual who claims to be an interpreter. Ask the interpreter to write down what is being spoken. Don’t share the results yet. Repeat this process with multiple proclaiming interpreters. Keep the results secluded from each other. Then ask multiple people who speak this gibberish to document the same of what they hear this man speaking. Compile and all the results and see which agrees (which will be none).

I agree it is so sad that people will be so harsh and some will even say your not a Christian or your a lesser Christian if you don't speak in what they say is tongues. And I don't think the New Testament talks a lot about it but it does talk a lot about the gospel which many hyper charasmatics will not talk about much...

Well said! As an ex lifetime pentecostal, I can tell that all the charismatic doctrines are based on out-of-context verses. Speaking in falses tongues is trully called "light language" in New Age... and it's now in the church since at least the fake Azusa Street revival. Even the Kundalini spirit is in the church, and we call it the Holy spirit... Great deception.
