I posted this video 6 years ago and have been amazed at all the negative comments. I was simply pointing out a few things about the car that I would like to change and a few things that were worn out after 17 years. I never complained. I never made any statements that suggested I was not happy with the car. All I did was put out a video of a car I bought that I was planning on fixing up to my taste. And I did. I made the car awesome. Sold it 2 years ago to a lady that loves it. She still sends me pictures of it. So I guess I just have never been able to understand why you and so many others came at me with negative comments. Guess it’s just easier for some people to be nasty rather than nice.

@caseybennett4201 OH B.S. Nancy! "I never complained nor made any comments that I didn't like the car". The FREAKING title of your video, "5 things I HATE about my c5 corvette", says it all. These videos guys like you (whiners) make are just that. It'd be different if you said, "5 things I'd like to improve or change about my c5 corvette". BTW, grow thicker skin Nancy. And stop whining!

Yes. 1997. I misspoke in the video. This was also my first video, so yes, there were several flaws, including the music. Still amazes me that people make an effort to post negative comments instead of constructive criticism. I also appreciated the car before I bought and while I owned it. Thank you for watching though. Perhaps next time you comment on a video, take a moment and consider the person could be new to recording and posting videos, and offer some good tips and suggestions on how to become better Take care

@@caseybennett4201 My bad. I am extremely busy with work and just happened to see this video pop up. I didn't mean to be too critical as I have owned 5 Corvettes dating to 1970 and all have their flaws and good points. Accept my apologies and I hope that you enjoy the Corvette.

Guess I should have read this comment first. This was very constructive and helpful. Good sound advice and not negative at all. Purchase price was very low, and I sold it years later for a profit, even after the money for repairs. Have fun with that Z51

@@caseybennett4201 Well, thank you. Glad that you got to enjoy the Vette and made a tidy profit upon selling. I'm keeping mine until one of the grandkids decide they want something other than a 4 cylinder or SUV to enjoy driving around in. One does not have to be retired to enjoy what they really want. My 1970 Corvette I bought in 1973 when I graduated from HS with money I earned working at the dealership. Went into the Air Force and traded the 1970 for a 1973. Then in 2005 I bought my 1987 C4 Z51 and in 2018 bought my 1995 Z51 C4 and traded it in in 2020 for my current C5. In between Vettes were a slew of Z28 Camaro's and Trans Am Firebirds. My lone non GM car was a 1970 Challenger R/T 426 HEMI 4 spd. pistol grip. Yes, I love my cars and I used to race SCCA in them. Have a good day and I hope that 1 day you get another Corvette, if you so wish.

So I was referring to what I did not like about MY Corvette, not all Corvettes. So I feel mentioning the doors was relevant. And yes, Chevy put a Chevy stock radio that was used in pretty much anything Chevy produced back then instead of an upgrade for a $40k car in 2000. And I didn’t expect anything. I knew what I was buying. Not one person ever seems to ask me how much I paid for the car. Everyone just seems to want to give me shit about “complaining” about the car, when in fact I was not complaining about the car, just pointing out what I didn’t like and what I wanted to fix. All the things I mentioned on the video were fixed and I turned that car into one nice ride. Then sold it for $3k more than I paid for it. I do appreciate you watching the video though, even though I don’t make videos anymore.

It was not! I paid $9k and put about $2k into it to get it to its current condition. It looks way better now.

So tell me this... why be so negative? All I was doing was pointing out what I didn’t like about the car. Just a few things that needed repair or replaced or updated. I made all the upgrades I wanted to, and still have the car. I just don’t get why people are so negative. I’ve wanted a Corvette since I was 13, and I finally got one. I never said I was a “car guy”. I’m not even sure what that means. Do I have to know how to work on card to be a “car guy”? What if I just enjoy the beauty and artistry of cars? Seems to me we have just too many people wanting to attack others with comments instead of saying, “hey man, congrats on the Corvette you always wanted and worked hard to get, and good luck with the upgrades”. Or maybe some constructive criticism like, “nice car, and congrats on the purchase. Maybe try to focus your next video on things like performance and handling”. But that is just the way I see it. Thank you for at least watching the video.

Jim Wassmouth I suppose I was not clear in the video since I have received many messages asking me nearly the same question. My intention was to point out all the things I didn’t like and wanted to change. Never did I intend to make it seem as if I were not happy with the purchase, or that I was fooled into buying. Yes, I got the car at a great price, and I have made all the changes I wanted and I am very much enjoying the car every day, even the days I just sit back and look at it. To be quite honest, looking back, I did take way too long on the intro, and could have done a better job editing, but it was my 2nd video, so I consider it as a learning opportunity. Jeff Houston actually it's 20 years old now. Not sure why everyone misunderstands this video. I knew exactly what I was buying. All I was trying to illustrate were the few things I did not like and wanted to change. I've made all the changes I wanted to and the car looks amazing. I appreciate the comment though and thank you for watching the video.

John Cipolletti it hasn't been too bad. Had to replace the oil pan and oil pump, but other than that, mechanically it's been ok. The expense was replacing the interior. Thanks for watching. I need to start putting out some more videos.

DTF 907 Down To Fish the company now makes an attachment that goes into the trailer hitch. Same concept, but you don’t have to remove you spare

I was never complaining about the car, just pointing out a few things I personally didn’t like and wanted to change. And everything that I was not happy with has been improved. Ruben C 3rd break light is an option. Not required in my state. Check out the website though. They have made improvements on the design that keeps the spare tire on the back

gene johnson thanks for watching the video. I get that comment a lot, but honestly, for what I paid for this C5, I actually got a good deal. I’ve been able to spend the extra money I would have paid for another C5, to fix this one up the way I wanted it. Interior, exterior, double den radio, tires...everything has been to my taste, and I would not have been able to have most of the work done if I would have looked around as paid more for a car in better condition. However, next time, I’m buying new!🤣

Jason Holmes I don’t recall saying anything about wanting my C5 to have the same things a C7 would have, although that would be nice. Point of the video was to point out the things I intended to fix. I have made all the upgrades I wanted to make and the car is amazing now. I’ll have to put out another video showing all the upgrades. The car looks awesome now. Thanks for watching and commenting. Mike Oz and I thought I was just listing the things I didn’t like about the car when I bought it, which is totally understandable when someone buys a used car. I have corrected everything I didn’t like, and the car now looks amazing. For what I paid for the car, I consider myself lucky to have the car I have. Crimson 19 I finally got mine back to great condition. Mixed the mechanical problems first, and then started on the cosmetics. Still a few things to do, but the car is looking amazing now.

Dave Scheer one of my first videos, so yeah, there was a learning curve as far as the wind noise goes. And there is a difference between complaining and pointing out the things I wasn’t happy with and wanted to repair. Just because it’s an old car, doesn’t mean it had to be in that condition. But I knew what I was buying. I looked forward to restoring it with everything I wanted. Car was super cheap and now I have all new interior, tires, targa top, stereo, and much more. I have actually enjoyed updating the car. Sorry the wind noise was so loud, but thanks for watching.

Casey Bennett , glad ya got the vette fixed , sorry for being critical I've always wanted a c5 yr 99-2000, got close to buying one but I made the mistake of taking the wife on the test drive, it scared the schit out of her and it went down hill from there , but there's always next time !

Dave Scheer no worries. The C5 is a great car. I personally like it better than the C6. Now I loved the C7, but no way a working man, married and father of 2 can afford a toy like that. 🤣🤣

Matthew Torres you actually don’t have to remove your spare. They make an attachment that hooks into the tow hitch and comes up right in front of the spare. It may not be the most elegant and its not for everyone, but it is practical. They also make them for atv’s and golf carts. Thanks for watching.
