    I love these type of fences. I like the look and the fact that the materials will last much longer. I am in the process of building a similar fence (I don't think mine will come out looking as clean as your fence has). I opted for 10ft 2-3/8" chain link terminal posts 4ft deep with 240lbs of concrete per post. I am spacing my posts 9 feet apart and putting up 36" x 12ft R panels horizontally 2 tall overlapped several feet per post. The 12 ft decision was purely based on cost, 8ft was $38, 12ft was $44, and 16ft was $78 (I could have likely saved had I the means to travel and purchase this from a company that makes the panels, but I am not as lucky, so I had to go with big box store. I read somewhere (don't have link) that there really needs to be a barrier between wood and metal to prevent corrosion. Since I want this fence to last the rest of my life time, I purchased 6" water proof vapor barrier seam tape to put over my pressure teated 2x4s I am using. Don't know if it is necessary (or stay attached), but I don't ever want to have to repair this later. I live on the top of a hill and the winds are a bit stronger and I don't want the fence to get blown over, especially with the strong storms we have had this year. I also will be hanging 6 foot chain link fabric on the back side of this (to prevent the pups from escaping which is another reason I am using so much concrete. Hopefully I have over built it enough that it will withstand the weight, I only have to go 90 feet.

    • @BoundCountry
      @BoundCountry Месяц назад

      I looked at the seam tape as well and thought that was a great idea, just could not justify the cost at the time. Seems like you have a well thought out plan 😎 Please share some pictures when you are done.

    Nice work! Any idea yet about high wind?

    • @BoundCountry
      @BoundCountry 3 месяца назад

      Thanks! The maximum wind it has received is around 40mph and no problems. I did add an additional 50lb bag of cement to each post since the video though, so there is 100lbs around each post. I don't think I would go higher than 6' if I were to do this again, just too stressful during storms with high winds.

    Ideally, I would have liked to have used some larger lumber for such a long run of fencing and yes, some sort of post protection would have been nice too. Unfortunately, any deviation from what I installed would have greatly increased the cost which was not an option for me at this point. Sometimes you just have roll the 🎲with what you can afford. ✌

    For those of you with 2020 or so 3038e units JD went to a two filter system without a paper element in the water separator. There is only a plastic filter element that can be cleaned and replaced and only catches the big detritus coming from the tank. The bowl is much taller and is held in place with a knurled ring at the top of the bowl. The second filter is just behind the right front axle, easily replaced. It is also often misidentified in the JD books as a MIU800645 which is larger diameter and will not fit the adapter. The correct filter is a MIU803137 and is identified on the filter can as a HIGH EFFICIENCY filter. And it's a more expensive filter by about $20 more than the 800645. To bleed the system do the water separator first then the HIGH EFFICIENCY filter but leave the latter just screwed on to the nipple a few threads. Then turn the key to on, not start, and wait for the water separator bowl to fill then the fuel will flow forward to fill the HIGH EFFICIENCY filter and will overflow when done. Then tighten the filter 3/4 turn after the filter's seal contacts the housing. Wipe everything down and start the tractor. Should be no leaks. The other thing you may notice is that the water separator may draw down fuel at the top and there will be a lot of foamy bubbles that are very quickly replaced by fuel. It will do this several times...a lot, actually....and the tractor may stall out under load until all the air is self purged...again, several times. When all the air is gone the system settles down, all bowls/filters are full and no more stalling/stopping. When I first encountered this stalling behaviour I thought it had to be a switch, solenoid, or relay because the tractor just stopped "right now". The other videos and forums said change your filters and make sure your tank is water free. They were right. There was damn little water in the bowl (red ring wasn't floating - I doubt you could get that much water in there to get it to float and still have the engine run) but the system was sure sensitive to that tiny amount. Should be none....water and injectors don't mix well.....
