Hard to find live version
He's like no limit
One of the greatest street lessons ever put on wax. Same rules apply today on different levels. Don't give everything until you're sure ofnwhat you're dealing with, especially ifnyou detect any level of chicken-ness. Youve been warned.
Fuckin' awesome +
Laptops weren't inveted back then, a dj was a dj in them days. No laptop to cheat from. Gen x,y,and z take notes.
so disappointed to realise that most of Wills vocals was stolen from Grandmaster Flash
That’s my dad❤ and his friends 🫶🏾
I wonder why "the official" track by Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince is sped up? Jazzy Jeff or "whoever" using one of the oldest tricks in the book by speeding up the recording giving the illusion that is faster and fresher than it actually is. This is the actual speed right here. Still dope.
Cash Money won. Cash had the funk while Joe was faster. In my opinion funk wins out on fast anyday. Peace
glad i found this, never heard the whole thing till today
Same. This is dope.
Yeh I've only just realised this was the full thing unlike the album version! I guess they couldn't fit it all on vinyl back then.
LIVE
Action ho back on love phone asap
Soon fitting 😂 hehe 😂 love approves of this message ♤♡♡♡~*♤♤♤♤♤

The performance solidify Jeff as the baddest DJ on the planet. This was with records.
Philly DJs were kings in this era.
As the person who recorded this and begged Mr Magic to play it cause it was so incredible to see and hear what Jeff did, hearing this version off the radio gives me a different perspective. It makes me happy to know that this recording lets people know where they got it from, no matter when they hear it. RIP Magic. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 I tell the story of how this tape came to be and the whole backstory. The original tape is alive and well with other unheard classics. Check me out on instagram. Salute!
whats your IG handle? I want to know more about the story and moments leading up to jazzy jeff and the prince taking the stage
At Union Square where was Red Alerts DJ booth located from the stage? Was it behind the stage or on the balcony in front? Anyone know that was there?
@@ajverratti@youngestdjinhiphop
@@RomSpaceKnightthe stage was in front of the booth. But it wasn’t really a booth. It was a separation from the stage. Prince was in front of us and Jeff was on the floor next to the stage.
@@HailsLuxury thanks! Do you remember their outfits by chance?
✨️💎✨️
Amazing this generation does not know that Will Smith became famous as a rapper waaaaay before acting.

DJ cash money
DJ money
I always wanted Joe Cooley to go against Jazzy Jeff.
That was in 1 episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
2:12 “All the ugly people be quiet” so that’s where Cash and Marv got it
Yeah I think they tried too much to be like Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, I saw both crews live and jazzy & the prince put on a great show, Cash Money was dope though, No Doubt!!
@@BlackIce100 respect to Cash Money for sure!
@@BlackIce100 Cash took it to another level and his production and scratches on wheres the party at was awesome. But both DJs had spellbinding live performances, I dont even think they have had to progress much in the last 40 years as they were both so far ahead.
@maccagrabme Let's agree to disagree, they were both dope as fuck, I remember Cash Money had his lil son introduce him, we went crazy!! And of course, The Fresh Prince would hype of Jeff during his set, man I tell anyone who listens how great a time that was for hop hop in the "80's" boff were (& still are) great Dj's too me ✊🏻✌🏼
Cooley
Cooley king of da 12/10s💯... icie moss side Manchester city england

Haven't heard this version in 30 years!
This is the version I’ve BN looking for since I was a kid .Yes
This is the original version from 1985.
I remember recording this in 1985
Ayo i had this tape😆😆😆
With Lodi Dodi!!
Joe Cooley killed it...his transforming was ahead of his time.
The fuck did he use for "check out this stuff"
“Buggin’” - Whistle
This really is an amazing bit of scratching when you think about it. Way before we had 'quick cut' on the fader, it used to literally fade in and was only at full level when in the centre, to get quick, precise & sharp cuts like this the fader had to reach the middle, that's skme quick hand movement... ..(unless he was using the 'phono/line' switch).. Which I doubt as his favoured mixer was the old Gemini purely because of it's x'fader. He has some serious DJ skills then and now.
Indeed, its still a mystery as to how he managed to transform that fast with a cross fader. Maybe he was using a switch, it sounds like it but its very clean unlike most switches but if not then that's got to be an incredibly quick cut in on the crossfader to be able to transform at that speed, given that transforming was brand new then but ew had it completely mastered.
Hahaha and they say Pac and Biggie started the east coast west coast war!! Nah just playin, both Joe and Cash are legends! No matter who won though, being held in NYC to actually boo Joe was fucked up...thats how you know “home field advantage” for Cash was done deal.
I remember this one. I like this kind of scratching.
Joe Cooley won that battle. It must have been on the east coast,
