QAYG tutorial
This Quilt-as-you-go technique is so easy and fun! It’s a great way to use up fabric and batting scraps. You decide what size you want the blocks to be and cut the batting squares to the unfinished size plus 1/2”. Make as many blocks as you need to make your project.
If you’re using the blocks in a quilt, you’ll need to add backing fabric once all the blocks are sewn together. Because most of the quilting has already been done, you’ll only need to add minimal quilting.
Why not add backing fabric at the very beginning? Because there would be an ugly seam that would show on the back of the quilt when you sew the blocks to each other.
If you’re making a placemat or mug rug, then you can start ...

I show all of the pages from the busy book that I made for my granddaughter, Amelia.
Thank you very much for your clear instructions. I am very happy with the result.
Lovely…but for demonstration purposes a less patterned fabric would have made the measuring clearer . I will certainly try to make one
Dear Julie thank you so much!❤I just found your channel and i love you creative patchwork craft. Please share more tutorials with us. 😊its fun to watch you and try it out too
❤❤❤❤lovely busy book! I love your design
Thank you so much Julie for sharing how to sew it! This origimi pouch is so adorable❤all the best to you!
Can you demonstrate the larger bag with the interfacing to make it more sturdy? I tried it, but it was so thick I couldn't get my machine to sew it once it was folded. Thanks!
Thank you for your video. Much easier to understand then the "brother" instructions i followed. Their instructions didn't work
Love it! My mom made one in a quilting class she took years ago and she's been using it recently and it was so cute I wanted the pattern but the instructions are so crazy to try and follow and it had such a weird shape to the template that you cut out for it that I was having a hard time with it and when I went online to find a tutorial or instructions on how to assemble it I kept being referred to some website that is I guess in current up-to-date. And all the posts on there are two years to 5 years old so I'm not able to get answers to any of my questions. It looks very similar to this with the exception that her outer flap crossed completely over the little pocket on the outside I think I will make a few of these just as something quick to put on my craft table but then I want to try and follow the instructions on the one she made and see how challenging that's going to be. If you have any input or no of anyone who knows the pattern I'm referring to maybe you could respond to me on that so that I can get a RUclips tutorial that's current. Thank you in advance

Great! I have made both a king and a queen-size string quilt. I think I will make the next one like this, except I will have a square of backing fabric on the bottom of the stack. I have made 2 QAYG quilts before, so it is a process I enjoy. Thanks for sharing@

I love this demo. Very cute! I, personally, have a thing about twisted ribbons so I would use a round cordage instead so that it doesn’t twist.
