What were your symptoms?

I was diagnosed December 2023 stage 3 Esophageal cancer. I finished radiation and chemo in February. Looking for a surgeon. Better rate of survival if you have surgery. First surgeon told me it was too risky and I wasn't going to find a surgeon to do. Hopefully I will find one. Good luck with your treatments.

What caused your cancer? Did you have Acid reflux? Are you vaccinated?

I am writing 11 months late… Recovery is long and tough! And there will be several recovery periods: after surgery is very hard, too. And after immunotherapy (I had bad side effects and had to stop, but only 10% of people have problems with immunotherapy). It is a long journey getting through the process, all of the stages of treatment. Know that We out in cyberspace are all rooting for you! I have been going through this, too, btw. Thinking of you!!!!! It will get better, but it takes a lot of time, patience and forbearance. I am wondering how you are doing 11 months later. 🥰

My dad has been diagnosed with 3rd stage squamous cell carcinoma , the earlier symptoms were dysphagia and pain. Later it got difficult to even swallow the water ..we were visiting dr. For past 2 months they thought of it as a viral infection but later he was referred to gastroenterology department where they did this endoscopy and it revealed an underlying tumour, the doctors told us beforehand that 99.2% chances of it to be cancer are there and the tumour part was given for biopsy and thats how we got to know about it. He had been severe alcoholic and smoker for the time being now . I really hope for him to get well again. The doctors have advised to give 5 radiation+1 chemotherapy in a week and since it is locally situated, it can get cured. So i was just scrolling about it and gotta see ur video, please pray for my dad too 💞

I have been going through what you are since April 2023 (same cancer, same inability to eat). Treatment may not feel rough until AFTER the end of chemo. i did have the surgery and I am glad I did. Make sure to check the credentials and number of treatments performed where you are going to be operated on - that counts!!! Go to a place with lots of experience in your kind of cancer. I have to check your latest posts to see what you decided. i am reading this almost a year later! You may not lose all of your hair; i didn't. AND IT'LL GROW BACK. Hair is the least important aspect!!! Remember that. i have had a feeding tube since last June 2023 and it's not always fun, but I totally lost my appetite for many months. Even still, 7 months post-surgery, I have very little appetite, and need my feeding tube (into my intestines) to get enough nutrition. Also, post-surgery I had a lot of pain, but it WILL GO AWAY! It will get better! Thinking of you with empathy every step of the way. Stay courageous, but you can cry! It is scary!😘And of course you are still YOU!!!!!!

I've been too sick to come one her but...he has exactly what you have. We are both on hospice care. I went through found out last August 2022 .Thank God no feeding tube.The drop syndrome is horrible too.No sugar and oils got me. Immunotherapy is what put me in hospital this November , respiratory failure from side effects.They keep me 5 days but now I have oxygen machine at home.They said,it will get better but its been a month and just mild improvement.🙏🏼🕊️

I had stage 3 went through it all,last year on Dec 30 had the surgery my birthday I was in hospital just afew days later.I did great eating and driving shopping.They had me do immunotherapy for one year.I did 6 months and the med gave me respiratory failure😢.So Of course I had to get the worst side effects.I was in hospital 2 weeks before Thanksgiving for 5 days then sent home with oxygen machine.So haven't been able to go or do anything.So they say it gets better I hope the fluid comes out so I don't need this oxygen.I know this too shall pass 🙏🏼🕊️🙌🏼 Sending you love and prayers.

By now you will have forgotten a lot of what you went thru. I'm 8 years out and still have occurring swallowing difficulty's. Just had a call from my Dr. a few minutes ago with the results from my CT scan a few days ago and everything is clean but still hard to swallow due to scar tissue.

Hello Beni. I sincerely hope you are doing well. I have been rewatching your videos. You are a good person. We haven’t seen you on here in awhile. I hope you can give an update soon and let everyone know how you are doing since your surgery. You’re got this.

I've been diagnosed recently with esophageal cancer. You don't know it until it's advanced. I told my wife and our boys but if it hasn't been for them I wouldn't bother with treatment at all. My wife has been great. She still is. Right beside me every step of the way. I've cried but I try to keep it to myself. Fyi...I usually fail. But I've cried so much in the last 4 weeks I think I'm cried out. I've lost about 40-50 lbs over the last 4 months. Check and see if it's hereditary. If it is the survival rate is much higher. I'm right there with you. If you want to talk to someone who is going through this with you reach out. I'm here to talk to or cry with. I'm in eastern time by the way. I've been thinking about making progression videos from my side of it and my wife's side of it and also including my boys telling what they feel and think.

If all I lose is hair compared to my life I can live with that. That to me is a fair trade.
