If you were in the New Blood tent for the silent disco on Saturday, and were handed a glowstick randomly by a bright-shirted drunk man, that was me! Let me know in the comments if you got one or not! Bloodstock was a lot of fun this year KSE and Meshuggah blew me away, but Megadeth kinda disappointed me a bit, guess I'm not really a thrash metal guy. Apologies there's not much non-band footage ...

KRAP is an acronym for the Keele Rock Appreciation Posse, which was a rock and metal society at the university I attended back in the day. Unfortunately the weather beat me at Bloodstock this year. Due to an overheating phone and heat induced lethargy, I find myself with only 17 minutes of footage for the vlog, most of which is band footage and bin jousting. How much for the R.I.P camping?
I paid £755 for this year because we were a bit hesitant in deciding to go so we had to deal with Ticketmaster's bullshit pricing increases. The tickets actually started at £615 though.
@@StegWi_ Ok. Ty for the reply.
I love watching festival vlogs. I like to see a little of everything, all of the experiences. Thanks for the upload, I hope your channel grows and grows:)
Thanks for watching! I love watching them as well, it's nice to see how people can have such a wildly different time at the same event!
Excellent 😂
Haha didn't see this was a year old, sorry will check your other vids 😅
Talk to the camera in a supermarket doing a shop, that will help you shake the vlogging in public jitters... but you speak very well
I've gotten a bit better at it now, but at the point of this video I was very new to the whole thing
If you keep an eye on my download vlogs, I get quite comfortable with it by the Saturday/Sunday
Thank you, I didn't think about bringing a tent
Glad it helped! 🤘
Buzzing for this year now! Hopefully weather stays clear, but not as terrifyingly hot as last year
Looking a bit moist atm, but we shall see! 😎🤘
what colour camp did you all stay in?
We stayed in purple camp last year, it was pretty good, not too far from the village but far enough to be quiet 💤🤘
Brilliant video
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it! 🤘
Hey dude any advice for a guy with a 3 day ticket and a big fucking tent. Concered we wont find a space.... awesome vid btw
Thanks for watching mate, glad you enjoyed! I'm probably not the best person to ask about this, since I've only ever don't the 5 days so I've not had to worry about it. I suppose it depends how big is a ' big fucking tent'? 😂 If you get there relatively early on Friday, it might not be too bad, but they have lowered the capacity this year I think so the layout may have changed somewhat from last year. That being said, if you're willing to camp a fair bit away from the busy areas, you'll probably be fine.
@StegWi Brazilian here with no UK festival experience looking to attend Download 2024... if I stay at a hotel in a nearby town, how easy would it be for me to uber to/back to the festival?
Hi! It would depend on where you were actually staying. Some areas around the festival will probably be doing shuttles every day it is on, but that will vary. I have never stayed in any of the surrounding areas myself, I have always camped on site so Im not really the best person to give advice on this. If you have a Facebook account, I can suggest that you join this group: facebook.com/groups/DownloadMusicFestival/?ref=share It is full of people who will be happy to give you advice and who may have done the same thing before. 🙂
that Killswitch set was immense
It really was!
I've been 4 times and still not been blood-eagled, what am i doing wrong?
We are sorry to hear this has (not) happened to you. Please contact Bloodstock customer service and a representative will be in touch to arrange a swift, rear entrance, double pneumonectomy. - Craig
Skynd were my discovery of the weekend. Seeing them in London in Dec
Hope you had a good time, friend! 🤘
at last i find people that got in easy like us haha
Omg I was in the same camp as you guys 🤘
Awesome! Hope you had a good time 🤘😎🤘
Thanks for posting the Skynd footage! 🙌🏽🫶🏽
You're welcome! Thanks for watching! 🤘
SKYND were sooo good. i was really drunk however and didnt manage to film much footage so thank you dude !
Skynd were fantastic, they really suit the tent vibe. I always worry that I put too much band footage in my videos haha, glad to know someone likes it 😄🤘
Did you wish you brought more?
Honestly I took way too much last year, I would have been fine with one bottle of spirits and two crates. But that's cause it was way too hot to be bothered with drinking booze haha I reckon a couple of crates and a couple bottles of spirits will do the standard person, they have a great craft beer and cider bar in the arena that's reasonable prices (for a festival) Food wise, I usually just buy food so I only ever take snacks for a few days and buy hot meals from the stalls
I was in the wrong campsite!....I brought my mates Roberto and Piot...yours looked way better, perfect for a bit of campsite carpet! Cool vlog, thanks for the upload!
Whereabouts did you camp? I didn't even know we had a carpet until it was getting installed by the girls 😂 Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it and had a good weekend! 😎🤘
@@StegWi_ We (first timers) stayed in Ironwood, we got there around 4:30pm so a bit late to find a decent spot. We made comments towards the end of the weekend that we'd love an Arabian Nights type camp next time, big rugs, canvass tarps and lanterns! We had a great time and cant wait to do it again next year! Keep the videos coming, thnis was much appreciated!
Sounds like a fun time! Better just hope it doesn't rain haha I did have a walk around all the campsites on the Friday afternoon for something to do, also because I hadn't actually explored all that much last year, so if you saw someone walking around in a blue alien shirt with rainbows, that would've been me 😂 Yes! Love to see people have fun and return again! I'll definitely be coming next year for Architects, Clutch and Flogging Molly 😎🤘
37:25, poss the best moment of the whole fest 🤣😂🤣😂
It was hilarious 😂
Can I arrive by train or bus?
I have not done this myself, but I believe big green coach operate all over the UK and have a fair few pick-up points. By train, I believe in previous years, the festival run a shuttle service from Tamworth train station to the festival, so you would have to get the train to there and shuttle or taxi to the grounds. There's a lot of information on the bloodstock website on this link. www.bloodstock.uk.com/pages/travel-info 😎🤘
@@StegWi_ Dankeschön!
Seriously the best beginners guide video i have ever seen, for any festival. This was great 🤣
Thankyou, that's very high praise! I'm glad you enjoyed it! 😎🤘
@@StegWi_ Only 6 days to go! 🤘🏻
Not long now! Hopefully we get some decent weather, or at least not a washout 🤞
@@StegWi_ don't want it to be as hot as last year. That was unbearable! but also don't want to drown. The way the weather has been recently I have a feeling we're getting rain.
Oh Christ no, last year was ridiculous! I'll be happy with 20 degrees and a couple of showers. Based on the current forecast I'm inclined to agree, we'll see at least a bit 🌧️
Bless little overdramatic Craig
He was upset cause his best friend wasn't there, so he was acting out 😉

omg that woman at 48:25 is gorgeous!
Friends hated the camping and will never go back. The site moved their tent without permission. Too many people, too expensive for food and drink a number of kids ran out of money for food by Saturday. I gave 4 people money for food and drink. Amazingly, they sent me the cash by Tuesday. Loved the bands
Ahh that's sucks that they didn't enjoy it. That's a bit shitty that they moved their tents, must've needed the space 😬 It is getting very expensive to be fair, but I still think the actual ticket price is worth it for the sheer number of bands that you get. Wholeheartedly agree that the food prices are getting a tad uncomfortable now though. The bands were incredible this year! 🤘😎
Awesome vlog, my only regret from DL20 is that I missed EC but have tickets to see them in Oct in Birmingham. I can't wait.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 😀 They were phenomenal mate, you're in for a treat when you do see them! 🤘😎🤘
Going to give polaris a go. They sound really good. 50 yeard young and just got into heavier metal. Unless you count early Metallica thrash.😂
I'd never heard them until download, my mate Callum took me to see them, and I took him to see bloodywood as a trade off 😀
Loved the evansence and especially the BMTH coverage. Can't wait to see them again. Theyre touring with bad omens next year🤘😜 can't wait. Never seen bad omens.seen BMTH once and its easy my number 1 fave live concert. Thanx. Cant believe you didn't play the Amy Lee right through. That transition into nihilist blues was insane. But not many people have posted it andbtheyve been pretty low quality.❤
I have tickets to see them in Manchester in January next year, after the show they put on at download, it'd be rude not to! I do actually have an extended clip of the Amy Lee part with the transition at the end, I think I cut it cause I felt like the video as a whole was ending up too long. Perhaps I'll release all the extended band footage I have at some point, but a lot of it is badly shot cause I was also dancing at the time 😅
Spot on guys looked insane
Thanks for watching! 🤘😎🤘
spent the festival in every moshpit physically possible lmao, what a great weekend!
You're a stronger person than me 😬 I usually don't mosh all that much, but the baby pit opened up in front of me during pendulum and I was fully gone at that point, so in I dove 😂 It really was an excellent weekend! Already got my tickets booked for next year 🤘😎🤘
Only been Download once in 2018. Looks like it was fun! Roll on Bloodstock in August!! :D
2018 was a great year! It was a scorcher back then if I remember correctly as well 🔥 Indeed! Get me back in a field!
Benji doesn't like pum he's a bumbaclart 😂
Thanks for the video guys, hope you are all well 🤘
All good here my dude, hope you are too! Thanks for watching! 🤘😎
It's crazy how good Nico sounds live. EC is an absolute banger.
They were absolutely insane, definitely gonna see them again
Playing Download for the first time and also attending it for the first time and I'm shitting myself cause I have no clue what to expect. This video made me feel so much nicer so thank you! 🖤
That's fantastic mate! When/where are you playing? Download is one big family, you'll fall in love with it, it's a home away from home for a lot of people, myself included! Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot! 🤘😎
Do you have Instagram?
@@StegWi_ Played on Wednesday with my band October Ends. I did love it, people there are so kind, the whole experience was amazing!
THE SARCASM I FUCKING LOVE IT AHAHAHA
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it! 🤘😎
Solid advice..solid delivery
Solid comment 👌😎
Great video mate! Another tip I would add is 2 pairs of socks per day and well waterproofed and snug army boots. I prefer them over wellies because while wellies would be a bit better for waterproofing, they're not exactly the best for comfort when you're on your feet all day. And the socks, well you don't want to walk around with wet feet. A friend of mine got trenchfoot from walking round in soaking wet trainers all weekend.
Thanks! Good shouts there, I've had aches and pains before from having to wear the wellies all day! Luckily 🤞 it seems like the weather is going to be quite nice this year again, so hopefully he won't get trenchfoot again 😅
@@StegWi_ My last Download was 2018 and it was very dry. I wore my Red Wings the whole time and I have to say it really does make a huge difference to invest in comfortable boots. And make sure you look after them so the leather doesn't crack and they have plenty of dubbin for waterproofing. You don't want leaky boots.
Is that the Mead and Metal crew in front of you at Bloodywood ~8:50 :)
It may very well be, ya know. I think he was wearing that KISS shirt in the Vlog. I didn't know anything about them at this point though, so I would have been none the wiser when I was stood behind them 😅
@@StegWi_ haha yeah definitely both of them and pops! 😂 Great vid!
Thanks mate! It's a shame I didn't film more, but there's always this year! 🤘😎
Hahahaha this is brilliant
Glad you enjoyed! 🤘
Hey man does the 5 day camping ticket include access to the actual music festival or do I need to buy them separate?
Download do not sell camping only tickets, so if your ticket says 5 day camping, you will be able to access the campsites and arena for the duration of the festival 🤘 Depending on when you bought it, the 5 day camping ticket should be around £300-350. It will not include the parking though, that is a separate charge of around £30 if you pre-book it. If you don't have a parking ticket though, don't worry, you should be able to pay on the day, it will be about £35 for the whole 5 days (Wednesday 7am until Monday 12pm). Of course, if you're not driving, you won't need to worry about that 🤘
@@StegWi_ okay thank you so much, so I don’t need to buy any single tickets on top?
No, you shouldn't have to. What is the exact description of your tickets on Ticketmaster? If it says something along the lines of 'weekend & 5 day camping' then it includes the 'weekend' -which is to say the 4 days of music, and the 5 days camping as well.
@@StegWi_ yeah it says weekend & 5 night camping, thanks so much for putting my mind a ease man 🙏
You're golden then, that will give you access to the arena for the 4 days of music, the village, and the general campsites. No worries, it can be anxiety inducing sometimes with the sheer amount of different ticket types flying around out there! 🤘
the doghouse was sick last year. soon be back. cant wait
Not long now! 🤘😎🤘
@@StegWi_ I missed the old doghouse like everyone at first but if the weather is fine this setup was awesome in the end and I hope it's the same this year 🤘 see you all there 🤘
I do love that it is on the tarmac now, but I'm hoping they've managed to sort out some cover for it this year, they got a bit lucky with the weather being as good as it was last year and it wasn't really needed, but that can only last so long!
Brilliant video!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! 🤘
I discovered that the biggest thing was buying a decent cool box especially last year at Bloodstock! It took a real battering due to the heat but still managed to keep stuff cool to a reasonable degree!
I can't say that it's ever really been on my to take lists, way too much of a walk as it is without a big hulking cool box 😂 Although bloodstock was absolutely boiling last year so you definitely made a good purchase!
@@StegWi_ to be fair mine was on a trolley I should have added ahaha! It was great for food and booze (I'll let you figure out the ratio on that!)! Also, I should have also said a bloody good trolley if you plan to take loads is a god send! Much like the tent buy cheap expect rubbish!
@@mrbellthebutler I see! You're a much more organized individual than me then 😂 This is the first year I'm gonna take advantage of the click and collect from the co-op, getting real tired of lugging crates of dark fruits through the car park, managed to commandeer a friend's trolley last year at DL and it was a god send!
@@StegWi_ ahahah! It's all a learning curve! I've been doing smaller fests for some years and going to major ones has a whole new learning curve to it! It's all good fun though! I'll try and say hello if your at BS this year! I wasnt too fussed about DL originally then the lineup just got better and better but sadly too late for me!
I was shocked at how quickly DL sold out, but I am over the moon with the lineup, for me it might even be the best they've done whilst I've been going! I do indeed have a BS ticket for this year, so yeah maybe I'll see you there! 🤘
rewatching getting gassed for this year, 8th time and just as excited for it to be DL again!!

Hi guys…I’m 9 months late to this and only 1min 10secs in, and my heart is in my mouth watching you open that Gin with a knife 😮. There’s a tab on it haha 🤘🏻
Welcome to the party 🤘 Yeahhh, I always get frustrated with the tabs cause I can never get them to rip properly, so the knife comes out 😂 I did actually stab myself doing the exact same thing a few weeks back at a friend's house so your worry is very valid haha
