    Please provide links for bunk bed hardware and/or more info on how you built. That is the #1 reason I watched your video.

    I'm subscribing not only because of the solid van life content but also because of the groovy tunes that got me dancing during the video. any draw backs from having the bathroom in the rear?

    • @villageovercity4695
      @villageovercity4695 3 года назад

      TheVijnanamaya no regrets we have access to the toilet cassette from the back door most vans have big hole cut out in the side to remove the cassette , bathroom is big enough to just close the door and change clothes anywhere with full privacy , and extra storage when we need it

    Why did you adhere metal foil to metal surfaces? Not sure if you're aware, but if liquid manages to penetrate the foil on your floor it will become trapped and start corroding your van floor. Other than that, very nice work!

  • @brianmi40

    I love the folding bed idea, and plan to do something like it for a part time upper bunk bed at the back of a Pro Master, which is wide enough for transverse beds. But I would have had yours hinge down when not in use, and use that as the seat back, leaning the cushion up against it. But I think I can make the commonly used horseshoe seating area at the back by the rear doors where the table drops down to fill the gap and convert to a bed remain as primary bedding, but then hinge two halves of an upper bunk together out and up from each outer wall and support them with 2" angle steel running from wall to wall, 2 of them, or perhaps 3 of the steel pieces to support the bed fully... Each hinged plywood has to be 3' long and would be fastened to the outer walls with a 4' long piano hinge. When not in use, they hinge down and get concealed behind the side seat cushions of the horseshoe booth. To put it into use, one person would hold the bed halves up, while another inserts the angle steel pieces to fit into blocks at the wall so that the two edges of the steel face upward to then lower each half down onto for support. If you used an air mattress up there it doesn't create a need to store another mattress, however since it is transverse, whereas the lower extends forward 5' to 6' from the doors, the upper bunk can just be made to be 4' wide, and therefore extends only 4' forward from the back doors. Given the height of the tall Pro Master model, you should have almost 1' of vertical space you could still add some cabinets on the side where their feet would go when sleeping... With a 6' x 5' or 6' by 6' bottom cushioned area, and the upper fold away 6' x 4' bunk, you easily get sleeping area for 3 in no more floor space than most currently just get for 2...

    Fantastic build and the bathrrom is a realistic workable size and I love it at the back of the van. I would have to have a longer wheel base for storage. GREAT JOB enjoy!!!

    Finally, someone who understands the importance of a bathroom! Not everyone want to void their bowels in public or want to shower at a gym amongst the thousands of others who use it. Some people have to get up in the night to go - and women get that monthly thing that requires facilities....or at least it should! I am not crazy about the idea of using the short sprinter as I find it far too small for more than one person but I do appreciate you putting a bathroom in the short length van - so many don't and that is just plain ugh. I also appreciate you listing the music in the description... allowed me to hit the mute button quickly.
