I was able to getting it going when putting the final touches on the defender, like the number plate and the final seals, but the real test is if it passes the inspection....... stay tuned for next time when we get the results

There's no need to use spring compressors or a ratchet strap on a Defender, undo the damper bottom mount and jack up on the chassis, then push the axle down (watch the flexi brake line) and remove the old spring that should have no tension on. If I were you I'd go to machine mart and buy a 3 ton trolley jack and large stands, makes life easier. 👍
