Mt Adams: Climbing Car To car (single day summit!)
Hello and welcome to type 2 fun!
We decided to climb Mt.Adams car to car (summit and drive home in one day) via the south trail on Saturday, July 20th 2024. This meant leaving our sleep and sanity behind in Portland, OR around 11:45pm the night before.

Thank you for this video documenting an amazing climb. I will be doing this in a couple of weeks. Just did Mt Rainier to Camp Muir a few days ago and forgot to put sunscreen on my face and am still swollen, but I'll be fine. Can't wait to do Mt St Helens next and am curious if the snow will still be around.
Congratulations on your Rainier climbing! Sunscreen is so hard to stay on top of, especially when you’re out climbing. Helens is so fun and rewarding. I hope you have a great, safe climb!

For a two day, would you recommend fri/sat vs sun/mon for crowds?
Likely Sunday/Monday is going to beat the crowds better than Friday/Saturday. That said, it wasn't terribly crowded when we went. Lunch Counter has more options for campsites than you'd think!

How technical was the climb?
We didn't need any ropes. We all had ice axes, crampons, and helmets. The steepest parts of the climb are from lunch counter to piker's peak, and the final climb up to the true summit. I will say, you do need to know how to walk and climb in balance.
