Stuck rear hatch on 2006 Durango
Просмотров 3,9 тыс.4 года назад
My rear hatch was not opening due to debris jamming the mechanism...so I had to go inside and use guitar wire to force the latch to open against a broken spring clip and then all was good again.. not an easy fix getting the door open was the most challenging part...

    So simple thanks. I just wanted to find the cause of one side not working before rushing in to replace a cylinder. I thought that operating drum brakes without the drum was a no-no. So good to know it can be done without the motor running.

      The rear grab rail came from the Fazer 700. The instrument cluster also came from the Fazer. The motor+transmission came from the Yamaha FJ600. It was something of a budget parts bin special, with almost all the moving bits having proven themselves on other bikes. This looks like a clean 1986 model, which is what I bought new as my first bike. I traded it in @ three years and 27000 miles. Mine sounded exactly the same as when new, none of that rough clattering. The dealer said I treated my bikes the easiest of anyone he knew. At this point it is a 38 year old bike.

    There are products that you can apply to the canopy to help protect it from sun damage.

    Hi Daniel, I have the same problem my dodge durango doesn't open the back door, can you tell me the first step to open, because I don't any way to open to tray to fix, I don't want to go to the dealer, it's possible you help me, thanks I will wet for your help!!!

      You have to crawl in back to the little door that is by the lock, open it and you can see the lock mechanism. Try blowing compressed air into the area it might loosen the debris blocking the movement... or maybe corrosion is only the thing and you can grab the mechanism and pull it open. I used a piece of guitar wire and pulled hard to pop the lock... best of luck.

    So the black wood chips prevent weeds from growing up. Are there any complications using them year round? I’m deciding what to do. My beds have a mess of weeds thanks to the winds. I can either dig up everything and replace soil or weed killer, lay fabric, and black chips. What do you think is cheapest short/long Term and effective? :)

    • @danielleclare2938
      @danielleclare2938 4 года назад

      Never use fabric just put the mulch deep enough and no problems except heavy rains that flood a garden area can cause floating of the mulch but looks good all year especially in Winter when there is no snow looks nice clean black and so on...

    With a 25+ mph high wind condition, where would you position anchors for guy lines. On a recent beach trip I positioned my anchors where the guy lines would be directly into the wind, with the wind-facing corners supported from falling back, and the canopy squared to the wind. What happened was that the cross-support between those two wind-facing legs and wires began pushing in and bent the bars. Nothing terrible, we can still use it. But I will not place that side into the wind again. I probably should have placed all guy wires at a 45 degree angle to each 90 degree corner. Here, I imagine opposite corners pulling on each other. Thus suring up all supports evenly. Just like the pictures show. : /

      A A keep in mind, I used plenty of pop up canopies in the more traditional style that just constant taking a beating and want to fly away. Those are the ones I really wanted. My father in-law got me this one instead, and not until I tested it the same day, did I realized how good it was. This design I really like now...more aerodynamic. Don't get me wrong, I plan yo use the stakes or weights when possible for stability. Let me know how it goes.
