Stihl GTA is the original. Makita is the new model but you can obviously see their design share a lot of similarities to the GTA26. However Makita is heavier. Yes a bit more power would be good but don't forget this machine is really for light duties/ small garden & it's very light in weight. I've 3 spare batteries to overcome this problem.
