help me understand. What position should the eMMS-EN switch be in to use an SD card?
The default position.
@@EtherealProject3D Could you please tell me what this eMMS-EN switch is for? This is my first time using PI 2
@dnwolf6021 It just allows the SOC to access the on board storage.
Motherboard fan isn´t working after installing your firmware. Any advice please?
I have taken 24V from the green connector in parallel to power the motherboard fan. Solved.
hi, friend. I'm looking for a video in Spanish so I can insert a new firmware that someone else helped me program to use the Bltouch and recovery after the power goes out. So if I have the firmware file already configured, I will not need some programs, but could you tell me which programs I will not need, and which I will. The problem is that I understand English perfectly if I can read it, then in person depending on the accent and the speed of speaking then I have serious problems. I also think that the radiotherapy that they gave me last time after an ear-to-ear operation to remove the larynx... is a little affecting my short-term memory, I will appreciate your help to guide me better through the instructions ..sorry for any possible errors since I am using Google Translate to be able to explain better. all the best.
Can you use gpio pins to control relays from klipper tho ?
Great video! After following your firmware update steps, I finally solved the leveling issues in the middle of the bed on my Sidewinder X1. Saved me from having to buy a new printer-thank you! 👍
@@sener983 You are welcome, thanks for watching.
Thanks for a very helpful review. 👍
Matt and team, nice job and great content you produce. Did you do a follow up and resolve getting the option on the pad 7 to select which printer, seems like a pretty import function , but i have not been able to get it to work. At 2:24:38 your search shows the location they put the file in was /home/pi/ which would be /home/biqu right ? this is where i have seen other videos, put the file and it worked, but if you make changes in KlipperScreen on the Pad7 and save settings it creates a KlipperScreen.conf in /home/biqu/.conf/KlipperScreen/ and I have also tried to edit that conf there. Let me know how you resolved thanks
I JUST SPENT 4 HOURS TRYNA FIGURE OUT WHY MY PRINTER WOULDNT EXTRUDE AFTER I SWITCHED THE IDLER ARM TYSM I HAD THE TENSION KNOB ATTACHED THE WRONG WAY
Hello, I want to thank you for the guide you have made. It is really very useful for those of us who are new to Klipper. In my case the motherboard of the printer when I ran from pronterface the m997 command gave error (from what I read, it is more common than thought) to load the firmware well, you have to jumper to enter boatloader mode the 3.3 volt pin and the ping boot to properly use the stm32 program. Until I realized that, several hours of insults passed. Thanks again for your excellent guide. Could you make a video, so I can make my own firmware for any printer? thank you
I am trying to use this firmware with a bigtreetech SKRv1.4 turbo and I have to modify some pin settings. I have never used Visual Studio, how do I properly open the file?
Sin duda (para mi) el mejor tutorial de instalación de Klipper. Gracias!!
5:00 - it can be released by pushing a knob inside handle. It still will leave a mark
So I gotta ask.. I have something that I want to design, and send it off to a prototype CNC shop.. is this something I can still do?
@@sethalton205 Yes, pcbway and jlcpcb can do the cnc work for you, you have to send them the 3d file.
Great video tutorial, very helpful indeed, thank you very much. Unfortunately my setup is showing poor stability as of currently. Running a Raspberry Pi 3B+, 2x MPU6050 accelerometers/gyros pi is powered off a actively cooled stepdown converter module from my 24V room power distribution thingy. the output voltage is 5.1V. the Pi is cooled with a heatsink covering SoC, ethernet PHY, hub and RAM as well as a small 24V radial fan. The software side is very similar to the one in the video except for some input shaping shenanigans. The Pi sometimes locks up entirely, loses connection to the printer or the rpi-mcu instance running the MPU6050s. also the klipper notifications say i am frequently getting undervoltage below 4.65V which makes no sense whatsoever as two USB testers and my oscilloscope agree on the voltage never dropping below 5.002V under the very same load condition. the pi draws 700mA at 5.1V which seems quite reasonable. fans are powered directly off the afforementioned 24V supply which also doesn't have any voltages lower than 23.85V in the last weeks log file. power draw of the printer mainboard from the pis usb port is negligible too as long as the mains supply for the printer is up. (1.05mA under load). Pi recently worked very reliably. Initially everything worked great but after installing the MPU6050s it all went downhill. Printing a benchy results in about 30-35% completion by file before the pi locks up. It always locks up the same way: not reachable over neither SSH via WIFI nor SSH via LAN. the http server is down. nmap reveals all ports closed. pi unresponsive t any and all input. klippy.log seems fine, the syslogs do as well. Pis SoC temps are constantly below 50 degrees. Sometimes even a restart doesn't fix the issue and multiple consecutive restarts are required. gcode of the benchy was generated by PrusaSlicer with Klipper flavour gcode, the respective on print start/end gcode and on a heavily tweaked Sidewinder X1 PrusaSlicer Profille. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
What is the cheapest rasbery pi to make this work, is like 2 enough, maybe even 0 or pico? They are unnecessarily costly in my country
@@StoneKnight1 If you can find a Big Tree Tech Pi v1.2 on aliexpress or amazon if you have access to them that would be your best bet. I run all BTT Pis now and I am very happy with them. Thank you for this very perfect video manual how to! Due to my mistake i had problem and my printer wasnt reacting and nothing working. Used some tricks, reflashed accordingly and now it is working everything smooth and clear. You are very cool man that helps to solve lots of problems. I very appreciate your work and attitude. Keep my fingers crossed for you and your job.
Great thanks for in depth install. Doing it now so will affirm how if goes. 👍

oh no I didn't realize I have a ruby board until halfway through the install and now I'm not sure where to reroute the wires on the motherboard as the layout is completely different T_T do you have a more detailed explanation of where you're moving the three red wires and the black wire? thanks for the help btw such a comprehensive video
I'm a bit late but awesome video! Also a beginner and was wondering if I could follow this to install klipper on other printers? Thanks!
Great job. I installed the Klipper from your guide. Now I would like to replace this sensor, do I need to upload another firmware? or is it enough to configure the Klipper? Any hints on what I would need to do besides installing the sensor?
It worked fine for me, but for some reason it doesn't feed enough filament. Should it read 2.0.8.1 in the about section? Mine says v1.5. So did the flashing go bad somehow?
@@liimamake The display wont show the Marlin version so you are good there.
@@EtherealProject3D Thanks for the very quick response. 😁
I saw this video like a year ago and I just bought my printer at that time. In order to keep the warranty alive I struggled deciding if install it or not. I finally did it today and I'm pretty happy with the results so far. Thank you so much for this video.
You are very welcome, and welcome to Klipper
Great video. I just gave my sidewinder x1 to a friend who has never done printing before and wasn't really looking into it until recently. I forgot how hard learning to level is. I wish I had known about this simple upgrade before I gave him the printer.
11:39 I can’t believe rapsberry pies are still scarce and expensive… is the silicon drought still on? Is there any octoprint screen that can show the webcam, and a 3D model matching the gcode?
Hi, thanks a lot for the video. I just did the all metal hardware upgrade and X2 is printing, but I can´t find your FW to do the upgrade. Is teh TFT upgrade needed? Or can I leave it as it is?
Are touch sensor settings included in this framework?
@@dev-mag Not this firmware.
How long should I be stuck on "counting files.... Few seconds"?
About 15 minutes if I remember right.
Can we disconnect the display? Or what firmware do we need to install there?
@@94Fiorello Yes you can disconnect the display.
I've stripped my tensioner screw. Is there a metal replacement available?
@@thqp I have made my own in the past, if you would be interested we can figure something out.
I have a question: Having a multi-material input such as the AMS versus two print heads on the Quidi Tech i-Fast to do say support material with one nozzle and main print on other nozzle. Which option would you think is the best?
If you are strictly sticking to 2 colors or 2 material types than IDEX is the way to go. If you every want more colors, something with an AMS would be the way to go. What I would like to see is an IDEX and each head has an AMS.
TFTzip is gone. What do?
Greetings. Can you tell me how to correctly connect the BIGTREETECH BIQU MicroProbe V2.0 to the Manta M8P v2.0 motherboard???
I just got straight leadscrews and tuned them properly. No more wobble or z-banding
If only it wasn't $20 per screw 😢
Wondering if I will just do it instead of renewing my Fusion 360 license for 700 bucks.
@@olavodias I believe Solidworks is the better choice
@@EtherealProject3D I agree, Solidworks is awesome, but it wasn't accessible before. Now, it is. By the way, your channel is awesome!
@@olavodias Thank you
Why I did not get here earlier. Just finished first prints after this tutorial. It's much much better print quality now. Thank You !
Could you describe in text what pins you're changing around? Trying to get a klipper config going with the breakout board and the thermistor is reading out of range with it.
Hi Matt, i followed your steps but its not working :) It always schows as detected and the printer doesnt stop when i cut the filament....
Man whenever i use a 300mm and more printer then come to my ender 3 v3 se i feel like the ender 3 is a micro printer, i even have problem fiting the part on its bed in the slicer 😂
How do I raise the gantry to change the nozzle? It's in the home position so i need to raise it, do i just gently pull it up to the required height?
@@MarkyB1 Yes that can work
Can u upload firmware.bin? I compile with sonicpad but MCU dont detected. When compile with Kiauh in another klipper machine work well
just in case comes someone acorss, start.cfg file starts with "PRINT_START" so the print didn't start and I got the message that it needs to home first. Before changing the whole map with another shorter version of someone name KevinOConner just changed it to "START_PRINT" and problem solved! PS. if you are familiar with Cura no problem at all using it with Klipper
Helful and detailed video especially for someone like me who knows nothing about commands and linux. I had issues with finding MCU as it said there was not such a device. PID bed and extruder caused mainsail to hang and had to shut it down so they didn't work for me. Bringing printer to DFU mode didn't go well and after reading a lot had to use jumpers on mainboard. Used Cura which seems not very compatible with klipper so gonna try ideamaker. Thanks
My v2 wobble less than that. Goodness
Hello I found your tuto and its great, but Im trying to print ASA Filament, and I preload the nozle and bed to 250 -90 but when the temperature its ready I click on print and the temperature starts to go down to 140 and 60 as default and then I have to raise it again, is there any way to print directly in high temperatures? thanks
Help. Problem Im currently having is I used the Stock firmware provided for the configs and it appears my stock ABL extends, gets triggered and then the nozzle still crashes into the build plate. if i raise the Z axis and then press the ABL when its coming down it does stop before hitting the build plate. I'm not sure what to do from here.
You may have a faulty probe.
Hello first of all, thank you very much for the many videos on the Sidewinder X2 I have implemented a lot of things from what my Sidewinder has also introduced to completely new qualities. But now I have a very strange problem and I don't know whether I may not have heard an important hint. I have converted my Sidewinder from a stock sensor to a CR-Touch. But every time I switch on the printer or leave it switched on for a while and perform a homeing or start a print, the following happens. Homeing of all axes, CR-Touch goes off and immediately on again and I get the message: "BLTouch failed to deploy" then immediately press Home All again and it works. The same happens when printing.... Print start, heat up, homeing, error, restart print and it starts printing. I used your cr-touch config when switching to Klipper. Any idea what this could be? Thank you very much.
Possibly a loose wire.
@@EtherealProject3D YES! Thanks, it looks like the cable came loose when I screwed the cover I cut open with the dremel for the fan and the probe back on.
Hi, i did everything like you but it doesnt work somehow. Could you please help me? The error says: „Heater extruder not heating at expected nate See the 'verify_heater' section in docs/Config_Reference.md for the parameters that control this check.“
