Thank you for the video’s from the enterprise! Your model looks amazing and I will try to copy you incl. The sea base! 😅 I bought just the trumpeter kit and the pontos set. Do you use a lot of the MK1 kit or can I stay with the pontos set and extra aircrafts? Are the portholes in the pontos set?
Thanks, glad that my build is an inspiration 😊 I mostly used the Pontos set, which in my opinion is far superior to MK1. The portholes are from the MK1 set.
What an absolute work of art, brilliant
Thank you very much 😊
Thanks for the video, I'm not building the same kit, but watching you work is truly inspirational and fuels me to advance with my own builds. Wonder why your channel is not more well known, since you seem to hit all the important points (at least for me): excellent camera work, nice and clear diction that makes it easier to understand as I'm not a native english speaker, reasonable video length that gaves the build a nice pace, and last but not least: no annoying music :) ... I'm so glad to be subscribed, and look forward to watching your carrier build. Cheers.
I really appreciate your feedback, and happy to hear that the videos hit your points 😁 Glad to have you as a subscriber 🤗
Great review, I find your work inspiring. The PONTOS instruction call out for the Motor Whaleboat is correct. These were later replaced by the more modern RIBs.
Thank you, I am glad to hear that 😊
VERY sharp!!
Thanks 😊
Very nice work (well, maybe the national insignia on the wings..). I'd missed seeing your work online and came looking. Can't wait to see your ship build.
I know Perry, I know 😔 Thanks 😊
@@NorwegianModellingBench 🙂 Great work. The Pontos aircraft are jewels.
@@perrylamb6286 Thanks, indeed they are, but require a lot of work.
If getting one pe set which one is better pontos or KA
Pontos for sure.
With some care in assembly and painting, the photo etch components supplied with the kit yield respectable vehicles. All boils down to economics I suppose.
Indeed John, you can get some good results with a bit of work, as you say it comes down to economics and what you want to spend your time on.
Hi Kenneth, another fabulous build and inspiration for my next build, may I ask what mini drill you use, it looks like a cordless drill? Many thanks Steve
Thank you Steve, I appreciate it :-) The drill is a Wowstick, bought on Amazon.
I just stumbled across your channel , I like the work / videos you are putting out. Very informative & educational. Where did you get your ship holder/stand. The 1 I have is very cheaply made. I'd like to get a different 1 but I haven't found the rite 1 , yet anyways. Thanks for the videos
Thank you and welcome to my channel 😊 The ship stands are bought from Andrew3D.net, say that you subscribe to my channel and you will get a discount 😉
It is a very good model, but is very expensive, and does not come with any aircraft or deck vehicles...for a lower price, you can buy a Nimitz and modify with 3D parts, which is much cheaper.
It is expensive, around $900 with the air wing and deck vehicles. But then again, if you buy a kit a need lots of readymade 3D printed parts that will be quite expensive as well.
@@NorwegianModellingBench but it is much cheaper, I wouldn't spend even 500 dollars on the whole set, it can even be done with ABS sheets...
Very nice!
Thank you!
Question: Did you use CA glue to attach PE parts and rigging? And where did you get your tweezers?
Yes I used VMS CA glue for both PE and rigging. The tweezers are Manwah super precision tweezers that I bought in a Norwegian hobby store.
@@NorwegianModellingBenchthank u very much!
Your work is great and fun to watch.
Thank you, I appreciate it 😊
Great job love the finish and the water to I have just got this kit what a big build it is going to be when I am going to start my one if I need to ask you a question when i am building it if I get stuck if that is ok I have just subscribed to you to
Thank you and welcome to my channel! I will certainly try to give you answers if I am able to. Please take a look at all the build installments, and enjoy your build!
I want a 1/350 models but either jets or helicopter but there so hard to find
You can find those from Trumpeter in many stores, 3D-Wild also sells them.
Absolutely beautiful work! May I ask what is the waterfall that appears in several frames? I am stumped and curious. Was it raining outside on the window, is it desk art, or am I unaware of a means of capturing paint fumes? ;-)
Thank you 😊 It might have been raining outside 😉 No, it is part of the spray booth I use. The water curtain catches the overspray, so instead of going in the air filter the water catches it.
Amazing detail on such tiny subjects . Once again outstanding detailed work (irrespective of the topside star and bar on the wrong wing on the Pontos planes. That must be so annoying for you).
Thank you 😊 It is annoying for sure, but it is what it is at this point.
Very nice!
Thank you 😊
Brilliant work Kenneth
Thanks Paul 😊
Just a teaser hey. The F-35's look great.
Hehe.. If you are waiting for the first part of the LHD-2 build, then yes ;-) Thanks
Nice work, looking forward to the build of the ship.
Thanks :-) There is a lot of work for the first part to get finished, and I have not had a lot of time at the bench lately.
Nice one and perfect timing for me as I was thinking about getting some of the 3D Wild F35s
Great to hear that it was useful 😀
Great job however the stars and bars on the pontos set are on the wrong wing. Cant wait to see the helicopters.
Oh… f… I didn’t even notice 😔 So all in the hangar then 😳 Thanks for letting me know 👍
Just enjoy your builds. Keep them coming for sure.
Thanks, I am enjoying it for sure, just too little time lately.
@4:22 what is the airbrush spay-water catching thing called? Model/mark and where can I find it?
It is a Panzag HS-E600 which I bought in a Norwegian web store called Gamezone.
Absolutely amazing, wow
Thank you 😊
Sweet. Just wow…..
Agreed, I hope to get the replacement parts soon. So maybe a project for the winter?
Thanks for tips.
😊
Gas bottle racks should match wall color. Screw on caps could be mismatched or black….maybe just shade diff. Lots for scale.
The rack is painted gray, maybe not that visible? Good tip on the caps 👍
amazing, dude... you're so meticulous.... do you ever get a chance to visit any of the ships you build? it looks like you build american ships and planes, chiefly. i live in the bay area, and got a chance to visit the hornet --- which i believe served in world war 2. there were several ships named that, of course. it also helped with one of the space re-entry capsules... apollo? on board was a cool wildcat, one of my favorite planes......... altho, idk how long it was in production. the us air force was constantly getting newer fighters during the war. thanks!
Thank you 😊 I always try my best, I have never appreciated a half a** job. Unfortunately I have not seen any of my latest builds, but I hope to someday. Sounds like you are perfectly located to see these amazing ships.
@@NorwegianModellingBench thanks for the reply. i haven't seen that many of the ships --- i'm mainly into ww 2 planes. i'd like to see more of them. there are several air museums i'd like to see. but, yes, the hornet is within half an hour of me, and i saw one of the us battleships.... i think they were moving it from one port to another. keep up the amazing work!
@@damnedjose I see, the WWII planes are definitely interesting subjects. I have a side project building a B25J Mitchel and plans to build a B17G. Thank you very much for the kind words!
@@NorwegianModellingBench yes... i saw your b25 video.... i guess six months after pearl harbor 'we" (i'm a third generation japanese american) bombed tokyo... amazing to me those b-25 bombers took off from a carrier. there's some air museum, maybe in oregon, where you can fly in ww 2 planes... a figher is a couple thousand, but those b17's --- i think it's $550? now i want to take a short trip to see the hornet again.... keep up the great work, kenneth!
noticed that the air museum where you can book flights is the erickson collection, in oregon... looks like a flight on a p40 or p51 is $2300. that's twenty minutes. i guess i'd definitely go for the p51 --- not sure if that would have a 360 degree view canopy, or not.
Dommage manque version en français merci bon travail
Thank you 😊 I don’t think you would like me to speak French, it would be very very limited 😉
Mr. Kenneth, another very clean build. Nice detail work on this one. I'm a little behind on watching videos, and it's a pleasure to watch you work.
Thank you Robert 😊
When adding blue water texture do you cover the full board in a thin layer and add more to the waves or do you just add highlight streaks to it like you did with the grey if that makes sense ?
Add a thin layer on the entire base, and more on top of the waves you want to accentuate.
@@NorwegianModellingBench thanks I’ll see how I get on, fabulous work
@@noclass69 Thanks 😊 Good luck 👍
@@NorwegianModellingBenchhello when adding your Atlantic blue do you need to thin the paint to get a thin layer
@@noclass69 no there is no need for thinning
Just found your channel and have subscribed. I appreciate seeing your build by this manufacturer. I will definitely go back and watch all of the build installments. Thank you.
Good to hear and welcome to my channel 😊
Where do you get the display case for your boat?
Hi. I bought a couple of custom made display cases from www.atlantic-case.com/
how much time to finish?
Around 300-400 hours.
Very nice detail kit! Would like to purchase one myself. Where did you got the kit from?
The kit is excellent, I am at least very happy with the result using it. I bought it from Hobbydecal.com.
I served on her from 13 April 93 to 13 April 98, made two deployments as well. Great ship, and even though she's getting old she's still getting it done!
Thank you for your service! I hope I can build a good representation of her.
Very nice build! Love to see you're video, was fun and intriguing to watch😁 May i ask what kind of cups you use? Where you put in the glue?
Thank you, I appreciate it 😊 They are lense blisters. A good way to use empty ones 😉
Nice! It is indeed a very good way for the glue. Thank you for sharing you're build with us😁
Amazing work, you never disappoint . Masterful skills!👍👍👍👍
Thank you for the kind words Michael 😊
Please....Nimitz!
It is currently not on my list, but who knows 🤷♂️😉
Original battle flag with no change inside the white circle 🎉❤
It should be historically accurate even if we don’t like it or support it.
@@NorwegianModellingBench It's not historically accurate. Judging by their raincoats and binoculars they are out at sea which means the flag would have long ago been stowed. Also, the periscopes and radio antenna would not be extended. If you want to be historically accurate you must remove the flag etc. Really nice work though :)
Nice that you put hoses on the reels. Not many do that. Looks great!
Thank you!
I think your build is magnificent. While all that brass PE was spectacular, I REALLY like how your flight deck turned out. It really sets off the entire model.
Thank you Mark, great to hear that you like it 😊 I am very happy with the flight deck as well 😀
amazing work again Kennith .You do inspire me to do better Thanks for sharing stay safe and happy modeling
Many thanks Paul, great to hear that it is inspirational. Keep safe and happy modelling to you too :-D
