Why has this channel not taken off yet? Too many AI channels reading stories perhaps? Folks don't know what is dross like AI narrators, and what is a gem such as this one without actually taking a chance and _clicking._ I wonder if that Black Mirror episode where prisoner's "minds" are put in a Gadget and given 10,000 year sentences, was gleaned from _Beasts of Boredom._ Such a nightmare .. almost as bad as waking up in a coffin, six feet under. ∞

Beast of Boredom would have made a great Twilight Zone episode. I heard it before, but it is a pretty scary story.

I'm another "S" only person and I haven't tried to follow this channel to the new place cause when I try to learn new techy things I realize I haven't enough signal to get anything to work as long as it must to page through complicated, boring protocols that really dont keep anyone's info safe, do they? I often ask how exactly is this better?

Not quite scifi. More shoot-em-up for adolescent boys. the only thing more boring than reading an action story is listening to somebody else reading one

I have a question about The Super Opener: I found this short story on Project Gutenberg, but I'm also finding references onlinr to a longer work where the super opener is used for more nefarious purpses. Does anyone know if this short story is part of a larger work, or if this story was later expanded upon?

What a great selection of stories William. I especially like the first one. Quite scary indeed! It's easy to forget that before the time of submarines much less ROVs, the depths of the Oceans were as mysterious as outer space. More so, because daily people traversed the sea, and sometimes never returned. I love seeing the denizens of the deep; Magna pinner and Humboldt squid. Siphonophores and Oarfish. Seen in the darkness down there they are truly alien. 🦑🐙

Based on the story, Captain Peabody, Rog Phillips has no idea how the military works or how men behave under stress. It reminds me how a teenage girl would imagine how a man would react and behave under certain circumstances. 😂
