My Top 3 Pocket Diapers Giveaway!! (Closed)
Lord help u if baby has a stomach flu !
For option 1, would you put the pre fold + insert inside of a pocket diaper? Or just lay it on top? Thanks!
You can put this in a pocket diaper or lay it on top, however, if you experience leaks then I would switch to a cover. I've done both and have a bit more issues with the pocket diapers overnight as they ass a little extra compression and the fit isn't as "sealed". This can be a bit of trial and error process so don't get overwhelmed!! 🙂 hope this help! -Marley 💜
Night diaper are to bulky i think my kid cant even let her legs close to each other
Would it be possible to use a size medium and fold it to fit a newborn? I have a huge stash of pocket diapers that probably wont fit til later but I’m planning to stuff them with prefolds and hemp inserts. Since I am buying medium prefolds anyways, I’m wondering if they would work for a newborn.
Probably not for most average babies. If you had a very large newborn, then maybe but they would still be incredibly bulky. And even then, you'd probably have a really hard time adjusting to get a proper fit. Newborn fit is best but small ones do work and lasted us until potty training (I have small toddlers). I also have a video on a minimalist cloth diaper stash that shows you can get away with very little. But I would recommend getting at least 12 small prefolds
Always happy to answer any questions, thanks for watching 💜
@@marleymommie7567 Thank you so much!! And wow, small ones until potty trained that sounds awesome.
@@Ana-jacomini yes! Did have to use boosters for long trips/overnights though! I should have added that!
Thank you, your video helped so much, your anwers in the comment section, too! German mom who loves cloth diapering but haven't used cloth on a newborn before. The products available here in Germany are slighty different (no hemp flats!), so prefolds are my favorite!
I’m on day 2, lol cloth diapering my almost 2 month old. 😂👏🏼 I definitely don’t know what I’m doing, but I love Best Bottom cloth diapers & Blueberry Simplex cloth diapers. I don’t like the Velcro ones at all and snaps are the way to go! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My baby boy grew out of the thirsty size 1 cover at about 15 lb and he's 2 months old.
Ahw too cute! Ya, after we outgrow the newborn stage, you can switch to one size. I just don't like the one size covers on newborns. For my boys, they swallowed them up 😁 thanks for sharing!! 🥰
@@marleymommie7567 he's a Chucky baby!! I just realized I have size 2 thirsties.. I considered selling my prefolds because I prefer the flower sack towels and I have so many of each and I'm trying to declutter but I went to look on eBay and there are so many people selling prefolds. When I purchase my prefolds 2 years ago there was hardly anything on eBay... I wonder if pandemic had something to do with it. Do you know of a website to buy and sell used cloth diapers?
@@ERICA850 yes prefolds used to go REALLY fast. The good quality ones still will. I would post on Facebook cloth diaper swap sites. That's probably going to be your best bet!!
In wish this would have worked for us. My newborn (currently 7 weeks) goes through 15 changes easily in 24 hrs. On occasion we hit 20. I couldn’t keep up with the laundry. I decided to add on 2 dozen flats. I find them a lot easier. Yes it takes time to fold them, but in the long run you don’t need to buy different sizes and can just add boosters if needed. for us they will wash easier and dry faster. Plus when we leave our land life and return to boat life with remote sailing I imagine they will wash and dry more easily and faster by hand. Which is a priority for us.
We really enjoy this diaper too, but like you said the drying time is the biggest downside for us too! Even with that though we really enjoy them and they’re SUPER soft!!
Yes! I would even dare to say they are softer than the Govia ONE'S or at least the softness lasts waaayy longer!!
Thanks for the review!
I have 12 newborn prefolds and I do have many boosters but I’m not sure what should I get to have a total of 24 (12 prefolds size newborn or 12 size small)? What do you recommend? It’s going to be my first time cloth-diapering a newborn and my babies tend to be heavy wetters! Thank you so much for this video!
If your babies tend to be heavy with the small! They will be a smidge bulkier for the first couple of weeks but you'll be glad to have them! You can always use the newborn size during the day so it doesn't look as bulky and save small for night changes. Hope this helps 💜 Marley
@@marleymommie7567 Thanks a lot! I will try that!
I think what folks are referring to when they say they don’t smell is folks who use some type of ventilated storage system. The diapers having airflow really drastically cuts down on the wafting of the odor in the air if that makes sense. For instance I keep my diapers in a plastic hamper that has holes throughout it, and I keep the hamper in my room just on the other side of my nightstand. Now if I go right up to the hamper I can of course smell them but you don’t smell them just walking in the room. I have company over fairly regularly and I always ask them if they can smell anything and they say no and these are folks that don’t like cloth and typically look for any excuse to downplay them and would gladly use that opportunity to say yes they stink! 😂 What I find is when they are in a wet bag or in a shut up storage solution it tends to ferment the diapers making the smell 10xs worse.
Thank you so much for the comment, I love any and all helpful tips!!! 💜
So helpful. I bought thank u mom. They suck so now I'm looking for covers. #laniloveaj
Thank you so much for the comment, So glad I could help!! Good luck 💜
Would you recommend hook and loop or snaps covers for newborns?
Hook and loop: simple to use for dad's/grandma's/etc; more customization; but can wear out quickly (not bad on newborn diapers since not long wear time). Snap: last longer; still relatively easy to use, just different than disposables; last longer; but may be a bit confusing for anyone else. Personally, I liked a mix! (My newborn stash was about 60% snaps/ 40% H&L). Hope this helps!
@@marleymommie7567 Thanks for the explanation! I really appreciate it!
Anytime, thanks for being here 😁
Also, how long have you been using this diaper?
As of now, at least a year...can't remember what the exact month was I bought it but we STILL love it (minus the drying time)! Sorry I didn't see this sooner, not sure why some of my comments get lost 😥
That's alright. I find that if I snap them closed inside out, they dry a little faster. I'm not sure if there is any harm to the snaps by doing this. I love the quality of the snaps by the way. I only have two of these and I love how trim they are. I don't need the snap in insert unless I'm using it overnight.
Yesss! That's what I've been doing to dry mine too!! But I'll take the long drying time for the amazing absorbency 😊 (and a good price!)
How old is your baby? Also how many hours does this last over night for your baby? Thanks!
So my little one is just turning a year old. My little one sleeps roughly 10 hours (quite the little sleeper) with no leaks. I would say he's an intermediate wetter at night. But I would guess that this diaper would still do well with a heavy wetter. I've been using this for I think about 8 months and use it weekly as it's one I usually reach for!
Let me know if you have any more questions 💜 I'd be happy to answer!
@@marleymommie7567 Thank you! I'm expecting my 3rd baby any day now and I bought two of these diapers for when he's bigger. I'm excited to try it!
So exciting!! Definitely let me know how you like them, I was pleasantly surprised!
@@marleymommie7567 I have one more thing to say. I find it strange that the one you have in the video and the description on the website says it has a 4 x 3 rise setting. The ones I got only have 3 x 3 rise settings. 🤔
Hello, how many prefold diapers would you recommend for a newborn to get away with washing twice per week max?
Hey there! So if you're starting cloth diapering from the newborn stage, I would recommend 24 prefolds and 8 covers. You can get away with about 20 prefolds and 6 covers but I would recommend getting a few extras if you aren't going to be washing every other day. Let me know if you have any more questions, always here to help 😊 and good luck 💕
Also, I would be careful not to go over 3 days without washing. I've done it on accident before and had to do a little rehab on my diapers 😅 not fun lol!!
I love the newborn blueberry simplex too.
Yes they are amazing! Just wish they were cheaper lol!!
Thank you for posting Marley. . I have a few questions please. How long does your lo stay in the prefold for before changing? Is it right that it’s soaked through and do you use any boosters and/or liners?
For the newborn stage, I typically always changed every 2 hours on the dot. As they get older, I will let them go a bit longer if I'm able. These cotton prefolds are incredibly absorbent. I've never had one soak through at the newborn stage. However, if you find that you have a heavy wetter, you can lay a booster in the cover before putting it on (I recommend hemp boosters!). Or you could also find that it's time to move up a prefolds size and that alone solves your problem! If you ever have any other questions, comment back or you can email me as well 😊 happy to help, good luck!! 💜
What was the Happy Flute dupe from Amazon? Thanks!
They are called Sigzaor! They have covers, pockets, and AIO's on Amazon. And you can also use the best bottom inserts in the covers, they have a snap 😀 they are really great quality for the price!!
@@marleymommie7567 thank you!!
Anytime! Hope you like them too 💜
Gurl yasss I dry my diapers in the dryer as well. Been doing that for 2 years now cuz ain’t nobody got time!! 🤣 I think it also helps tho having a larger stash that way each individual diapers isn’t always taking the same hits 😊
Absolutely yes!! 🙌 I have no regrets if mine get a little more wear and tear than they would if they hung dry 😂
💛🌻
I seriously love your channel! These recipes looks amazing. Do you love those crockpot bags? I want to buy them but I’m afraid they will melt or something.
Oh girl you HAVE to try the crockpot bags!! They are such a time saver for me...I despise cleaning my big bulky crock pot 😂 you will not regret it!
Thank you!!
You're welcome!!! 😊💜
I Took screen shots!! So excited to give these a try! You made all of them look so simple and yummy to make.
I'm glad you found the screenshots helpful, I always hate having to write the recipe down lol! You'll have to let me know if you try them! They were seriously SO easy and delicious 😁
great review, thank you! trying this on my diapers today 👍🏼
Thanks for watching! Yes I love it just to give that extra cleanse once in a while!
Thanks for the video! Do you remember how many diapers you actually used in the hospital? Or rather: how many per day? I remember the later newborn stage going through sooo many (poopy) diapers, but I have forgotten what it was like in those first few days!
I don't know how I didn't see this comment before!! Honestly after 1.5 days in the hospital we may have went through like 13 max. I don't remember the exact number but especially the first day, there was very very little poop and pee really kicked in about 6 hours after birth
@@marleymommie7567 Thanks for your reply anyway! Baby boy isn't here yet (39 wks), so you're on time :D I packed 22 and we'll switch to disposables in case we need to stay longer.
Oh ya you will definitely be safe with that many I believe!! 😁 Good luck mama!!! 💜
Madem c section head for pillow s use madboda
I've never heard of it but I'll definitely give it a try!
Do you have any of the Thristies prefolds? I wonder how they would work with a Thirsties insert? I got a bunch of those in the hemp/cotton blend pre-loved for cheap, so I was hoping I could do that for overnights when my baby is big enough. I'm currently 38 weeks with my first, so I don't know how bad it's going to be. :D I keep hearing that those Grovia Ones are like magic for overnights, but I'm such a print snob and none of them seem as cute as what I can get with other covers or even with pockets that I'll stuff with the Thirsties.
Yes!! Okay so I've heard amazing things about the thirsties prefolds. And you probably won't need an extra booster until 4-5 months because they are a cotton hemp blend and hemp is a super soaker. The only negative thing I've heard is that they're a bit bulky but for overnights, who cares? Lol you'll have to let me know how they work out!! I'm pretty sure we are insta friends so definitely post or pm me if you try them! Agreed on the Grovia ones prints...I've honestly only found one that I actually loved.. crossing my fingers for them to put a fun print out!
Yes thirstiest hemp prefold works great overnights. When I used it, I had to add a couple of inserts for extra absorbency overnight, it depends on if you have a heavy wetter or how old your baby is. I also love stay dry diaper doublers placed on top for overnights, it wicks away the wetness so they don't wake up as much. You can find those at cottonbabies.com. Yeah they're microfiber with microfleece on top but I've been using them for years for 4 kids and never had problems. Best wishes!
That "hi mom!" Is the sweetest sound ever. ❤️ My 3yos overnight solution has been a big cotton prefolds + 2 bamboo inside a sigzagor bigger size cloth pocket diaper. It's bulky but works. 🤷♀️
I love the sigzagor covers, they are a great deal and work wonderfully! And yessss girl, I would definitely rather have a bulky diaper than little babe wake up completely soaked so to me, it's whatever works!! Thanks for watching and sharing!! -Marley 💜
I don't know how I'll deal with diapers. But here's what I think I'll do ( as far as I know me... 🙃 ): I'll have a mobile changing station (on an Ikea cart) and a stationary one in the bathroom. I think I'll deal with the diapers right away when I change the baby in the bathroom and deal with them later if I'll use the mobile one 😊
Yes we have one of those carts too and they're awesome!! Especially for those newborn days ☺️ great idea!!
@@marleymommie7567 true, carts are the best! I have one in the kitchen and one for my art supplies. It was only natural for me to get one for baby stuff 😁 Also... I'm doing all this alone (baby daddy ghosted us 🤨). I'm sure the cart will be a life-saver in the newborn stage! I'm trying to make things as easy as possible (and videos like yours help me a lot!!! ❤ ). Thank you for supporting the cart idea 😊
I should do one for art supplies too, love it! Sounds like you're going to be one awesome mama 😎
@@marleymommie7567 thanks ❤ I'm doing my best, I hope I'll be able to have lots of fun with my little one 😊 One of Ikea carts and RÅVAROR bed tray is the best possible mobile art studio if you ask me 🙂 I was always losing stuff, buying new and then finding them again... now I have a pack of everything in a jar or a box on my cart and I never misplace anything. I take it around the house (or even outside) with me and the bed tray makes a great table for me in my bed or sofa. It's also great for kids. When I babysit or have kids visiting I just tell them where the cart is and they can get it themselves. They can use the tray as a table and just sit on the floor. It's also easy for them to tidy up when they're done ❤ (yes, I'm that lazy 🤭😆)
My 7-year-old likes to wear his shirts backwards. Some of them have a bigger design on the back, and he thinks it should be on the front instead. I'm having a hard time letting go of baby things now too! With my first two kids I usually sold or donated their stuff as soon as they outgrew it. But now with our final baby I don't want to get rid of anything! That's kinda backwards... 🙃
I did the exact same thing....and now I can't bring myself to even get rid of baby socks 😂
I would say to post the video of the home tour without your stuff. Especially if you already filmed it. You can always update us later once you've got some stuff moved in. :)
That would probably be the better option!! I still have 2 boxes that are just hanging out 😂 oh the joys of moving!
are you using the microfiber inserts that came with the mama koala diapers? I just ordered 18 of those diapers with 18 microfiber Inserts. I will be a ftm in July and will be cloth diapering. should I buy extra inserts or flats or anything for nighttime or extra absorbency?
Okay so the mama koala microfiber inserts will be okay for the first 3 months or so depending on your baby. I would recommend getting extra inserts or boosters. Some of my favorites are gmd clotheez cotton prefolds size small, thirsties hemp inserts as a booster, and best bottoms microfiber inserts as a booster. The prefolds are cheaper and can be stuffed in the pocket with nothing else. For nighttime really depends on your baby- they may be fine with a cotton prefold or you can try to wrap a prefold around your microfiber inserts if you need a little extra. If you end up with a heavy wetter, I would try Grovia ONE'S. Let me know if you have any more questions, I hope this helps! I have more cloth diapering videos on my channel that may also help you get started (check out my playlist for cloth diaper videos)! Xoxo, Marley 💜
@@marleymommie7567 I've people using flour sack towels. I was thinking I could wrap the microfiber in that for added absorbency? i also put pre folds on my registry but I dont feel like many people will buy me cloth diaper stuff because they don't understand
Yes I've wrapped the inserts in flour sack towels and that works pretty well!! Fingers crossed someone will be brave and get the prefolds 🤣🤞
Hey new subscriber thanks for the motivation!
Thanks for watching!! 💜 I love having new friends!
I got the 3 pack of Biubee cheap wet bags ($11) from Amazon 4 years ago and used them for my cat's incontinence diapers and my cloth pads and family cloth. I would say that I've washed them about once a week for the last 4 years. Just a week ago, my husband was carrying down laundry for me and said that the outside of one of them felt damp. I would say that $3.50 for 4 years of use is a pretty good investment. I also recently got the 3 pack of Damero wet bags from someone off my registry for my first baby and I loved how thick and well made those seemed. $13 for that 3 pack seemed like such a good deal that I went ahead and added another 3 pack to my registry.
That is awesome!! Absolutely can't go bad with $3.50 for 4 years! Love them deals ❤️❤️
How do you think I could do with Osocozy as opposed to cloth-eez? It's easier for me to bundle-import from Amazon and unfortunately I can only find osocozy and also thirsties cotton-hemp blend (which are more expensive)
I've used osocozy as well! They are pretty good quality, I just found the sizing to run larger than normal. But if that is what is convenient for you to get, they should still work great (may just be a bit bulkier)
@@marleymommie7567 Thank you for the quick response <3 I ordered like 3 different types of osocozy and i hope they work. There was also humble bebe I could try later, but a bit more expensive per dozen.
Ya I own the osocozy ones too and they are absorbent and last a long time, only drawback is they run large but thats also a personal preference and you may find that you enjoy the extra material for your folds! Good luck 💜 if you have any more questions, let me know 😘
very informative video.... roughly how many times do you change at night with prefolds for a newborn? have you used liners
My babies were changed every 2-3 hours at the newborn stage at night. Honestly, could have made it longer but they would get up to eat so we would change too. If you're exclusively breastfeeding, you won't need liners because you don't need to spray off the 💩. I've tried disposable liners with newborn just to make it more clean, it wasn't very affective because their poop is so runny that it ends up all over the liner and in the sides. BUT stay dry liners are great for newborns so they feel nice and dry so I'd recommend getting some fleece ones and skip on the disposable liners! Hope this helps!!
@@marleymommie7567 Thank you for the detailed reply. Was 24 stash enough to keep up for 2 days with the cover?
@@alkajoseph yes! Just make sure to have at least 6 covers. It was plenty. After a few weeks they start sleeping for longer (3-4 hour stretches at night) periods of time too so you'll only use a lot for the first week or two
@@marleymommie7567 Thank you
Love that kitchen!♥️
Thank you!! 💕 I'm so excited to finally have enough cabinets to fit all my stuff 😂

@@marleymommie7567 Wonderful to hear! We also have a Stay Dry NAIO if you prefer having an extra wetness barrier.
I still like to pack an extra outfit for my 2.5 year old. But I'm a bit of an overpacker 😉. 💜 Heidi
I used to pack my diaper bag stuffed but over the years I got sick of carrying around my big bag and hauling the kiddos. But an extra outfit for the toddler definitely wouldn't hurt!! 😬😄
I would love to win this. It looks like an amazing diaper! Cathylockerby2@gmail.com
Good luck! Thanks for watching 💕
So cute video!😊😊
Thank you!! ☺️
Where did you buy that bag???
Walmart! It is the pioneer woman brand, they have I think 3 or 4 different colors and they're all beautiful! 💕
Nice overview! These have a great combo of features. Just started cloth diapering over the last 3mo and getting a sense of what fits and what we like in a diaper since it definitely takes trying different brands and styles out. Thanks for sharing! lisameg313@hotmail.com
Definitely, we are always trying new styles and brands!! Got you entered, good luck ☺️💜
