man!! i LOVED the final battle of the yellow turbans. this game has been amazing. i'm pretty sure that's where i suffered my first death in the game but it was to lighting in that battle. took me a bit to figure out what even hit me there.

??? my man... i literally showed the relevent stats and then showed how the stats work. you're free to customize the rest to your liking because the build is very flexible outside of what i recommended. if you ...think that was staged or faked I don't know what to tell you. i've also played this build on stream for multiple sessions people saw me build this thing from the ground up starting from base NG. these kind of comments make my head hurt

same. it's interesting they decided to work on all these other games and not what is honestly a juggernaut of a series. they caught lightning in a bottle with nioh and all they have to do is continue to improve on what's already there. nioh 2 is great example of doing just that; builds off a stellar game without ruining its identity or dumbing down any mechanics but also expanded on it in various directions. Nioh 3 just has to continue that and they're golden. hopefully it's the next/current game they're working on

You see that at the beginning. Basically every magic attack in the game is a projectile. and you reduce them by so much that they might as well not exist. Like he says, that's a good portion of the attacks in the game just not doing anything.

@@thanmg9703 lol hi, there's definitely other bits to the build that are explained in the video. large health regen, damage reduction from boar/soul core combination, dual swords if that's your thing, etc.

@@shape444 oh ok what would you recommend for splitstaff build? I m thinking of going new run with dlc 3 kukai set but thats a long way before i could get to him kind of wanna play monk style build.

​@@thanmg9703 i respect the theme you're going for. I've thought about a similiar build before but never got into building one for myself. In terms of sets, the one most similiar to kukai is the servant of the gods set. you actually get that from the snake boss in the first region. That map drops pieces but the boss drops the smithing text. if you're willing to farm it out it's a great initial set that can carry you til kukai's honestly. basically that set, like kukai's, gives you healing on purification but kukai's is a lot stronger of course. It's a great way to sustain yourself across maps. And the butterfly guardian spirit, Usura-Hicho also gives that same healing on purification effect that you can stack and multiply healing whenever you purify which is very on brand for a monk, purifying corruption yeah? I think it'd work great imo.

same, 100%. its wild how the game blindsides you with one of the craziest difficult bosses of all time with practically no warning or build up lmao. makes her more memorable even

understandable. til nioh 2, dmc3 was uncontested my favorite action game of all time for years and years. which is wild to think about cause there's been alot of great action games throughout that time.

hiya! there's alot of flexibility with those things, cause the core idea of the build functions no matter your stats or clan so it's all preference. Like you can do todo clan with 200 con/stamina for max hp so the % healing ticks for more and you have an absolutely massive pool of health. you could completely ignore that stat spread, go honda with boar helmet to halve all damage taken when full health which you'll constantly be brought back to. you can do uesugi for infinite protection buffs if you use the tatari mokke soul core, etc. There's alot of options they all work well and your loadouts completely different for it. You could even flavor it to be more offense oriented! Totally up to you. as long as the core is there you'll be fine :)

@@shape444 Thank you for replying, i imagine your additional percentages for backstab damage taken and projectile damage taken are covered by your scroll of the Nioh? Still curious abour your stats when using spear (GOAT) and dual blades. Uesugi is too strong specially with the low damage i'm taking. I made a set already which works well but want to squeeze out performance you showed us.

Hiya, I went pretty minimal on stat spread etc because I wanted to give as much flexibility as possible but if it gets requested more I'll definitely add some more details maybe in the description.

lmao yeah... i agree. It's tragic a game like this with all its depth and complexity just gets so little appreciation. I'll do my part and keep yapping about it hopefully it'll encourage more people to try it out

agreed, 100%. i want to add on and say also though that the buff stacking in nioh 1 enables so much more freedom in my opinion, like yeah it can lead to some broken things but i'd prefer it to, say, Nioh 2's endgame problem where its easy to not have the damage needed to reasonably proceed through the depths. nioh 1 gives you so many more outs through tempers and spells and so on that work with each other so you can always keep up damage wise. the more i think about it the more i think it might be the better system lol

hopefully their experimentation with other titles, such as wo long, and the mistakes as well as successes that came with them help shape a potential nioh 3 into a better game. i'd like to believe they're coming back to this series--it just seems ridiculous they'd let it fade into the shadows after two unique, and amazing games. but i guess its not impossible. after all, ninja gaiden exists.

it's definitely a difficult game! that's the philosophy of the developers though. ninja gaiden back in the day was known for being incredibly hard and the head director, when he got complaints of the game being too hard--do you know what he did? he went and made those games even harder! he was a different kind of beast! shame he's parted ways, but these games being hard is just a staple of the studio and for better or worse they're sticking with it. which is unfortunate because it can scare away new/normal players but diehards definitely love it. thanks for watching and commenting :)

@@shape444 true, and that's why Nioh games are very good on PC with the use of trainers where you can make "regular Bloodborne difficulty", but console gamers are so out of luck!
